Chapter 767 Changed Personality

He vomited all over his clothes and was so disgusted with himself that he decided to go to the beach to wash up.

But as soon as they arrived at the beach and saw the densely packed dozen or so corpses, they vomited again.

"Tsk tsk tsk, really no good!" Tang Shunlin glanced at the group with disdain and told the two young men to carry the last living person back.

The others felt this was a bad deal, so they asked Tang Shunlin, "Can we catch fish?"

Tang Shunlin: "...Try not to. You've seen it yourself, there's all sorts of fish in this water. What if you get sick from eating fish?"

Think about it, everyone agrees. After escaping death so easily, we don't want to be eaten alive in a couple of bites.

So the group walked back dejectedly. As they passed through the woods, Tang Shunlin said, "Let's go in and see if there's anything to eat, and maybe pick something up while we're at it."

"Great!" The men following him instantly relaxed and rushed inside. However, they were dumbfounded once inside. Because they didn't know what was edible.

Tang Shunlin felt a sense of powerlessness, wondering what the alliance had done with all those educational videos and variety shows, and why everyone was still not making any progress.

He could only mutter a few complaints to himself. Looking at everyone's expectant yet hesitant faces, he could only accept his fate and start teaching again.

Ji Shaoming and his team looted quite a bit of spoils, and on their way back they ran into Tang Shunlin. After exchanging greetings and a few words, they decided to go back for a meal before continuing their search.

Tang Shunlin clapped his hands twice to attract everyone's attention: "Captain Ji just led the team to find a lot of food, enough for both of our teams. Let's go back and eat something to fill our stomachs first, and then we can go find more food with Captain Ji. What do you say?"

Everyone was surprised by this good news and immediately nodded, "Great! That's fantastic! We're starving, and I feel like my eyes are going blurry! Captain Ji, don't worry, I'll pay you back as soon as I've eaten."

Ji Shaoming smiled and nodded, not saying no. After all, many of these things were found by his team members.

"Alright, let's hurry back and cook. Who knows, we might even get to use Yanming's stove." Tang Shunlin said expectantly, unaware that Zhang Heping and Yu Shui had already taken over Shen Yanming's stove.

Actually, Shen Yanming felt a little embarrassed. He had shared his food with Li Zhaozhao and the others, but hadn't considered Zhang Heping. So, after quickly finishing the rabbit meat, he helped the two of them skin and grill it.

Zhang Heping was flattered and exclaimed that Shen Yanming had changed his ways. Shen Yanming smiled and did not refute.

What he didn't know was that Zhang Heping felt strong and healthy and should shoulder the responsibilities of a man.

Xu Yajing was frail and needed rest, so it was perfectly reasonable for Li Zhaozhao to take care of her. Wanwan was a young girl and shouldn't wander around too much. Letting him go out to find food was the most suitable option. So, they didn't think much of it at all.

When Tang Shunlin returned, he saw that both stoves were roasting food. He didn't say much and quietly built a new stove next to them.

Ji Shaoming and his team were taken aback when they saw the group of people lying haphazardly to the side.

"Old Tang, where did these people come from?" Ji Shaoming asked.

Tang Shunlin didn't even look up. "They drifted in from the sea and are still alive. There are still more than a dozen bodies in the water that haven't been dealt with yet."

Ji Shaoming said with a heavy heart, "I'll deal with it with you in a bit."

"No need, you should continue looking for ingredients with everyone, otherwise we'll go hungry tonight. I wonder if Haoqiang has found any pots and pans yet. Without water, we won't last long."

"If all else fails, then we'll have to..." drink urine and eat tree leaves.

He knows how to distill, but what can he do without the tools?

Shen Yanming, who had been listening to the conversation between the two, took out a stainless steel lunchbox from his backpack: "This is all I have. I'll make do with this."

Ji Shaoming was overjoyed and quickly thanked him, saying, "That's wonderful! With this, we won't be thirsty anymore. Even if the distillation efficiency is a little low, at least each of us can have a sip a day. Old Shen, you're saving our lives. Don't worry, I'll take care of your water from now on!"

Shen Yanming waved his hand, seemingly unconcerned.

That was indeed what he was thinking; he simply found it troublesome and tossed the lunchbox to Ji Shaoming. He couldn't bear to watch everyone die of thirst and hunger, and similarly, he was too lazy to take care of their food and drink. So, he just left it to someone else.

Ji Shaoming had no idea what the other person was thinking; he only felt that being with Shen Yanming had improved his luck. Even the leaves and wild vegetables they picked that couldn't be cooked weren't so bothersome anymore.

A group of people skinned and bled the rabbits they had caught, then roasted them over a fire. Their stomachs were stuffed full of wild vegetables and leaves, ready to fill their bellies with these later.

Before Ji Shaoming's rabbit was even cooked, Huang Mao returned triumphantly with his henchmen. Each of them carried something, which they deliberately flaunted in front of everyone before returning to their camp, setting up a small fire, and starting to roast fish.

Ji Shaoming was unaware of what had happened at the beach, so he warned, "It's best not to eat those fish, or you might catch a disease."

Upon hearing this, Huang Mao was furious. He stood up, pointed at Ji Shaoming, and cursed, "You motherfucker, you just don't want me to have a good time! This fish is clearly alive and kicking, but you insist it's inedible. I'm going to eat it today anyway, let's see what you can do to me!"

Ji Shaoming was about to say something when Tang Shunlin stopped him: "I told you at the beach that if people listened, they wouldn't be fishing." Tang Shunlin thought to himself, "Yellow Hair is really capable; he's already returned with a full catch in such a short time."

Seeing that the two men stopped trying to stop him, the blond-haired man assumed they had backed down and said smugly, "I knew your little tricks wouldn't fool me!"

Then he looked at the others and shouted, "Hey, hey, hey, who wants to eat fish? Welcome to join my camp!"

Seeing that everyone remained unmoved, the blond-haired man launched into a bombshell: "Limited quantities available, first come, first served, otherwise, there won't be any left after we finish eating them!"

"What do you mean by first come, first served?" Before Tang Ji and her team members could speak, someone who had broken away from Shang Haoqiang's team halfway asked impatiently.

"Hey, fish, food! If you want some, you'll have to join my blond-haired team and serve me as your master. How about it, want to consider it?"

The group hesitated, glancing at the others who sat firmly on the mountain, then at the group of corpses lying around. After a moment's thought, they decided that the resources on the mountain were unsustainable, and said, "We can catch fish ourselves."

Yellow Hair seemed convinced and sneered, "Alright, then you guys go ahead. If you can catch it, you'll be the ones!" Yellow Hair gave a thumbs up.

These men, already lacking in resolve, hesitated after hearing what Huang Mao said. Looking at the large fish Huang Mao's underlings had prepared, they swallowed hard. Suddenly, the purslane and shepherd's purse in their hands didn't seem so appealing anymore.

They exchanged a glance and nodded: "Okay, we'll join your team!" At worst, we can always run away later.

The blond-haired man smiled smugly, pulled a few people over and hugged them, saying, "Don't worry, you'll all be glad you made this choice later."
