In late September, the sky is always overcast and the temperature keeps dropping, giving people a sense of foreboding.
The vegetables in the agricultural area grew haphazardly and were malnourished. But no matter what, they all sprouted and grew bigger.
For the plants with short growing seasons, Ye Wengui had already had the first harvested, dehydrated, and stored. For those with slightly longer growing seasons, he left them in the soil and decided to wait a couple more days, depending on the situation.
Upon returning to the capital, Li Sikai received a warm welcome. Chief Alliance Officer Li personally greeted him, embracing him with overflowing excitement.
There was no other way; his nephew had been sent on a mission and hadn't returned for several years, enduring so much hardship that his relatives had long harbored resentment. But Li Sikai persevered and completed the mission brilliantly.
He is proud of him!
Looking at the people around him, General Li didn't ask any questions, only saying, "It's good that you're back, it's good that you're back!"
Li Sikai smiled and bowed: "Reporting to the Grand Alliance Commander, Li Sikai, Xiong Jianwei, Geng Zhixing, and Sun Sainan have successfully completed their mission!"
"Okay, you've worked hard. Let's go back and rest!"
The others didn't know what mission Li Sikai had completed, but Qiu Man did. He quickly had lunch prepared, and then followed Chief Alliance Officer Li back to the building.
Once everyone was alone, Alliance Commander Li inquired in detail about the mission. Li Sikai kept it brief and led Alliance Commander Li into the spatial dimension.
The office has no cameras or microphones, so it's perfectly safe. Xiong Jianwei and his team are guarding the door, so they're not worried about anyone breaking in.
Seeing the change in the scenery before him, General Li was astonished. He asked Li Sikai in surprise, "Is this really Yuan Ruoxi's space? How did you become her master?"
Li Sikai nodded: "Old Bear fell ill when we finished the mission. We couldn't bear to abandon him, so we had no choice but to make him our master. This is what my space looks like after I made him our master. I'm not sure what Yuan Ruoxi's space looks like, but I guess she only has the space inside the thatched hut."
General Li went inside and immediately understood, "The things inside, they're all her...that?"
"Not entirely, a lot of it is from the new grains that my partners and I planted and harvested during this period."
Li Zongmengguan looked up: "Partners? Besides the few outside the door, are there others?"
"Yes, Shen Yanming and his wife, along with a few teammates from the journey. They were all very nice; they didn't ask many questions, nor did they harbor any covetous thoughts."
"How did you know?" Chief Li was already considering countermeasures in his mind; he could not allow any danger to lurk around his nephew.
“I feel it!” Seeing that General Li’s expression was serious, Li Sikai smiled and handed him a bowl of fruit. “Don’t be so nervous. Come on, let’s eat and talk.”
General Li shook his head and chuckled. He took the mulberry and tasted it; it was sweet and sour, and quite delicious.
Li Sikai also tried one and said, "It's a pity there aren't any other fruit trees. I just planted some seeds, and they haven't grown tall yet. In a year or two, they should be able to flower and bear fruit."
General Li didn't want to play games with him and said directly, "Don't give me nonsense. Tell me, what really happened? Why are you spreading rumors about this space everywhere?"
Li Sikai smiled and pointed to the vast land: "I have no choice, the space needs faith points to upgrade."
"Faith points? They can be upgraded?" Chief Alliance Officer Li was far from happy upon hearing this. Originally, he wanted to keep the news a secret, but now...
"Yes, I received these messages after I recognized the space."
General Li put down the bowl in his hand, looked at the hundreds of acres of almost ripe rice around him, and sighed: "If I had known, I wouldn't have let you participate in this mission." Being restricted in his freedom was not what he wanted at all.
Li Sikai patted General Li's back gently, comforting him, "Uncle, we didn't know that the space could be used for planting before, so we didn't take it seriously. But now, with something this amazing, do you dare let it fall into someone else's hands?"
Li Zongmengguan fell silent; he felt very uneasy.
Li Sikai feigned nonchalance: "It's nothing, it's just a lack of freedom. With the situation outside so dire, being able to retire in the guard unit is a blessing. Besides, I have such a large space, which means I've achieved food freedom."
"Do you think they'll make things easy for you?" Li Zongmengguan felt a headache coming on just thinking about certain people.
It's not that they're bad, but some of them value the country too much. Once they find out about this, they'll definitely use his nephew to the point of death.
Li Sikai didn't care at all and said, "People can get in here anyway. You can arrange a few laborers to work in there every day. As for me, I'll just relax and enjoy the ride."
General Li nodded, having no choice but to accept the suggestion. He carried the bowl and walked around the space, wanting to take a closer look. When he reached the edge of the thick fog, he reached out and pushed, but it wouldn't budge.
"That's a spatial barrier. Only by upgrading it can the spatial area double."
"Can you sense how much longer until the upgrade?"
"No, I haven't collected enough faith points yet, and the space is still in its initial state."
After thinking for a moment, Chief Alliance Officer Li said, "In that case, treat this as a secret weapon of the Qinghua Kingdom and do not disclose it to the public for the time being. I will convene a meeting with the other alliance officers tomorrow, and then we can all go into the space together to discuss how to maximize our benefits."
Li Sikai had no objections.
Unfortunately, this space can't be kept secret if you want to upgrade. And collecting faith points through official channels is the fastest way to upgrade.
After the two discussed it, General Li asked Li Sikai to send him out of the space.
Li Sikai said, "Look at you, you're so thin you're just skin and bones. Take a look, is there anything you want to eat? You can eat now, or we can take it out later. I'll help you get some nourishment."
General Li pointed with his finger: "You, you, showing off without a care in the world."
Li Sikai didn't take it seriously: "It's not easy to have this space, so I have to find some benefits for myself. Otherwise, why would I work for free?" Although he planned to use this space for the country, it was still his own.
Looking at the watermelons crawling on the ground, General Li was somewhat tempted and said, "Let's take two watermelons. Everyone has worked hard this year and hasn't had a good meal." Even the bigwigs in the capital city weren't any better off than ordinary people when it came to food and drink.
Li Sikai nodded, led his uncle out of the space, and then casually placed five watermelons in the corner: "I'll put a few more here for you, eat them when you're free, don't be stingy."
General Li grunted in agreement and pushed Li Sikai out of the office: "Alright, go back and rest. You must be tired after these past few years away."
Li Sikai waved his hand: "It's alright, it's alright, but I really should go home and say hello."
Then he looked at his comrades at the door and said, "After we finish eating, we can all go home."
The group looked at Chief Li, who smiled and said, "Get some rest. Come to the meeting tomorrow."
"Yes!" they all replied in unison.
