Old Shen quickly confiscated the two children's skewers, saying, "Wait!"
Then he looked at Bi Qiaoan and said, "Wife, get me two bowls!"
As soon as he finished speaking, two bowls, along with two spoons, flew out of the mobile villa.
Shen Yanming caught the two small porcelain bowls that were in front of him, used a spoon to peel the quail eggs off the skewers, and then sprinkled some cumin and salt on them.
"Here, eat up!" Shen Yanming shoved the bowl into An'an Nuannuan's hands.
The two kids were stunned, thinking, "Weren't they eating barbecue? Does this still count as skewers?"
“Dad, um, the atmosphere’s gone!” An’an said, staring at the bamboo skewers that Shen Yanming had put aside.
Shen Yanming chuckled and pinched the brat's cheek: "You know what atmosphere is, huh? Don't you know how old you are? You're so fussy. You almost poked me blind with that bamboo skewer just now, luckily I dodged it quickly. It's only because I'm your dad that anyone else would have gotten angry."
When An'an heard her father say this, she could only smile and act coquettishly: "Dad, I was wrong. I will never do it again. Please forgive me this time, okay? You and Mom are eating with skewers, while my sister and I are holding bowls. We don't look like a family at all."
Shen Yanming was almost amused by the little rascal's logic. He said sternly, "No matter how you eat, you're still surnamed Shen. Does letting you hold the bowl mean you'll disown me as your father?"
An'an pouted, thinking to himself, "How could I dare?" He was also afraid that his father would retaliate and cut off his food supply.
Nuannuan's expectant little eyes instantly dimmed, and even the quail eggs in the bowl didn't seem so appetizing anymore.
Shen Yanming, who had no principles, felt sorry for you for two seconds before saying, "Alright, it depends on your behavior. If you behave well, I might consider giving you skewers later."
The two little ones looked at each other, smiled happily, and cheered, "Yay, thank you, Daddy!"
"And what about Mom?" Shen Yanming asked.
The two kids immediately understood and ran to Bi Qiaoan's sides, nagging her: "Thank you, Mom! You've worked so hard, Mom!"
Although Bi Qiaoan enjoyed her children's affectionate behavior, she still smiled and said, "Sweethearts, Mom is busy. It's dangerous near the fire. Go play over there."
After saying that, she glared at Shen Yanming: "By the way, why isn't the goose back? Where is it?"
Shen Yanming shook his head: "I didn't see it."
Bi Qiaoan scanned the area with her consciousness and found the giant goose hiding on the grassland. It was squatting among a group of geese, looking so out of place.
The goose's little eyes darted around, seemingly wary of its surroundings. It could also be that it was afraid of An'an and Nuan'nuan.
Bi Qiaoan gently lifted the goose with her mind. The goose was initially flustered, but then, remembering that it was the mistress's doing, it stopped struggling.
With the intelligence of a six- or seven-year-old child, this goose is quite clever at times. Furthermore, its interactions with its owners and other young children have made its thoughts and behaviors increasingly human-like; it truly cannot be treated like an ordinary goose.
So, after landing, the goose looked at Bi Qiaoan with teary eyes and quacked twice, as if it were telling her about its grievances.
Bi Qiaoan heard this and wanted to comfort him but couldn't leave. She could only gently soothe him: "Big goose, you've suffered. Come here quickly, let An'an and Nuan Nuan apologize to you, and we'll have a good meal together today."
The adult goose turned its head toward the chicks and saw that they were eating heartily.
Upon hearing Bi Qiaoan's words, An'an Nuannuan immediately put down her bowl and said, "Big Goose, we're sorry. We were bastards today. We promise we'll never bully you again."
An An Nuan Nuan had a little bit of seasoning on the corner of her mouth. After she finished speaking, she stuck out her tongue and licked it, then smiled happily.
The goose's eyes lit up, wondering what delicious treat this was, and it trotted over on its short legs.
Then, looking at the round quail eggs in the two children's bowls, their eyes sparkled.
Nuannuan's eyes darted around, and she poured the last quail egg from the bowl into her palm, then held it to the goose's beak: "Here, have an egg!"
The goose glanced at Nuannuan but didn't move. It hesitated, afraid that the brat would do something naughty.
But then she thought, with the owners right there, she probably wouldn't dare. So she stretched her neck and snatched the quail egg from the brat's hand.
And because it was afraid of hurting the little brat, it didn't dare to use any force. So only a trace of seasoning was left on that tender little palm.
The goose bit into the quail egg, chewed it, and swallowed it. Just as it seemed to enjoy the taste, Nuannuan exclaimed, "The goose ate the food I fed it! Mom, did you see it? The goose ate it!"
Bi Qiaoan nodded: "Yes, the goose will only eat what it likes; you can't force it to eat what it doesn't like."
Nuannuan nodded, thinking that what she liked, her son would definitely like too.
The little goose had no idea what the brat was thinking; it just felt that the whole goose was in trouble.
You brat... are you still thinking about feeding it strawberries? It refused back then, so you have to feed it something to get back at it?
The goose looked listless, as if it was pondering whether to tough it out or give in.
Later, smelling the aroma coming from the barbecue grill, the whole goose felt relieved.
Anyway, Nuannuan didn't take advantage of it this time, so it can just enjoy being fed. Besides, those skewers smelled amazing!
The couple smiled with satisfaction as they watched their children get along harmoniously.
Once the meat on the rack was cooked, Shen Yanming gave one portion each to the two small goose and the large goose.
The two people and the goose were all carrying bowls, but the two used spoons while the goose used its beak. No one was mentioning using bamboo skewers anymore.
Time always flies. The family of four, along with the goose, finished lunch, and it was already past three in the afternoon.
The two kids played a bit too wildly, and after finishing their meal, they started nodding their little heads, looking sleepy.
The geese are alright, after all, they're not the same species and don't have the habit of taking afternoon naps.
But it ate too much at noon today, and even started to wobble when it walked. So Bi Qiaoan used her mind to send the goose back to the grassland, and told it: "Take a stroll after you recover, don't get fat."
Otherwise, if they get too fat and strong, they might just slaughter the goose one day if they're in a bad mood.
Of course, all of this was a joke. But the goose suddenly shuddered, lay on the ground for about ten minutes, and then got up and started walking around the grassland.
Slim down, slim down, strive to become a slender goose!
When Bi Qiaoan found out, she burst out laughing.
Shen Yanming tapped Bi Qiaoan's nose affectionately and said, "You don't let An'an and Nuan Nuan bully it, but you bully it yourself without any pressure."
Bi Qiaoan moved his fingers away and argued, "I was doing it for its own good. Look how fat the goose has become. If it keeps going like this, it won't be able to fly anymore."
Shen Yanming smiled helplessly, thinking to himself, "Can geese raised by the spirit spring water be the same as ordinary geese?"
But he didn't say anything. Anyway, it was just a harmless joke; the goose got tired and stopped, so it didn't have much of an impact.
