Chapter 755 We Must Not Lose Our Stance

"Old Shen, what should we do now?" Zhang Heping asked at the top of his lungs.

Shen Yanming looked around but couldn't see any buildings. He was dumbfounded: "I don't know!"

"What should we do? Ya Jing's condition can't be delayed; she needs to have an induced labor as soon as possible. We can't just let her give birth here, can we?"

Zhang Heping never thought the child would survive. At only five or six months old, even if the baby was still breathing at birth, given the conditions and environment, without medical staff or equipment, it would ultimately die young.

Li Zhaozhao didn't mind; as long as his wife was alive, he didn't care if people saw her. Perhaps they would even avoid her out of fear.

Xu Yajing didn't have that kind of strong mentality; she didn't want to make a fool of herself in front of everyone. Another thing was that she couldn't get any strength out of the water while drifting at sea.

The situation reached a stalemate. Zhang Heping glanced at Shen Yanming and asked, "Is Nuannuan alright? Should she come up to the door panel too?"

Nuannuan's little body shivered, and she hugged Shen Yanming even tighter. Big tears streamed down her face, but she didn't cry out loud.

Shen Yanming was submerged in water and couldn't feel the tears. However, he still picked up on the faint sobs. He comforted her, "Don't be afraid, baby, Daddy's here, it's okay!"

Nuannuan shook her head and asked in a very low voice, "Where's Mommy? And Brother?"

Shen Yanming patted her back and said, "Mom is fine, and brother is fine too, but they went somewhere else. Let's rest for a bit and then go find them, okay?"

Nuannuan nodded: "I miss them."

Shen Yanming's eyes stung with tears, but he remained silent. He wanted to say something too, but there was nothing he could do.

At this moment, Shen Yanming felt that something had appeared in the storage area. He used his consciousness to look and found that it was An'an who had come looking for food.

Shen Yanming felt a surge of joy mixed with panic. He was happy that his son was alright, otherwise he wouldn't be in the storage area. He was panicked because his wife might have had an accident, otherwise she wouldn't have neglected to prepare things for An'an.

An'an is only two years old this year and has come here two or three times with his parents. He knows there is food in the storage area, but his little arms and legs can't reach anything, so he stands under the shelves anxiously.

Shen Yanming took a deep breath, realizing he couldn't afford to lose his composure.

He used his mind to place two pieces of bread and a glass of milk in front of An'an, and said, "An'an, baby, I'm Daddy, don't be afraid. After you finish eating here, be a good girl and wait for Mommy to come to the villa to pick you up, okay?"

If you're hungry and your mom hasn't picked you up yet, come back and get something to eat.

It wasn't that he didn't want to keep his son, but he was afraid that Bi Qiaoan would take An'an away, and if he stayed here, she would get anxious.

An'an was startled at first, but when he heard his father's voice, he calmed down instantly. He turned his little head around, trying to find where his father was, but the voices came from all directions, leaving him clueless.

An'an nodded and said in her baby voice, "Daddy, I understand!"

"Yes, An'an is such a good girl! Your little sister is with Daddy. She's fine and not hurt. When you see Mommy, remember to let her know you're safe!"

"Okay!" Hearing his father's gentle voice, An'an felt a little sore in his eyes. He sniffed and didn't let the tears fall.

God knows how anxious he was, waiting so long at the mobile villa without seeing Bi Qiaoan. God knows how terrified he was when his son, Da'ezi, who accompanied him to eat, fell to the ground as soon as they walked past the light screen.

Thankfully, his father is still alive and even spoke to him. He's a little man; he can't let the difficulties he faces defeat him.

An'an raised her arm to wipe away her tears, took a bite of bread, and then drank a sip of milk. Only when she felt full did she say to the air, "Dad, I'm leaving. Take care of yourself and my sister. I'll miss you!"

Shen Yanming smiled with relief: "Yes, my son is so good! Dad isn't around, so you have to take good care of Mom. She's a girl, so she'll be worried and scared. You're the little man of our family, so you have to fulfill your responsibility as the pillar of our family."

An'an nodded as if she understood, and said, "I understand, Dad. You also need to take good care of my little sister. Dad, come pick me and Mom up soon!"

"Okay, don't worry, be good!"

An'an's departure only increased Shen Yanming's worries. He didn't dare ask the child about Bi Qiao'an, afraid that he would sense something was amiss and become anxious.

Shen Yanming withdrew his consciousness, raised his hand to look at the smart bracelet on his left wrist, and turned it on with a light touch of his fingertip.

However, there was no response from the contacts, indicating that Bi Qiaoan had indeed run into trouble.

Shen Yanming was panicked, his throat tightening. He knew that if his wife hadn't been in trouble, he wouldn't have risked exposure to put An'an into his spatial dimension. He could only hope that Bi Qiao'an was still alive.

He dared not cry, otherwise he wouldn't be able to explain how he knew about the mother and daughter. Nuannuan seemed to sense something and cautiously asked, "Daddy?"

Shen Yanming snapped out of his daze and forced a stiff smile: "What's wrong, baby? Are you cold or hungry?"

Nuannuan's tummy rumbled twice, but she still shook her head: "Not hungry!"

She could tell that her father was working very hard, so she didn't want to cause him any trouble.

Shen Yanming sighed, feeling that his daughter had grown up. But now, he really couldn't bring himself to feed Nuannuan.

So all I could do was gently coax, "Baby, just bear with it for now. We can eat once we get ashore."

Nuannuan nodded, looking obedient.

By this time, those who were still alive on the surface of the sea had recovered. They were all still in shock, looking at the vast ocean around them, and showing expressions of relief at having survived a disaster.

Then came a sense of bewilderment: what should I do now?

Shen Yanming sighed and shouted, "Everyone, turn on your smart bracelets and check the status of your contacts."

Everyone snapped out of their daze and hurriedly pressed the metal circle on their left wrist. However, the contact list was empty; it was unclear whether they had perished or simply hadn't thought to activate the smart bracelet.

Shen Yanming inwardly cursed himself for not reminding them to activate their smart bracelets before the disaster struck. He hadn't paid any attention, assuming they wouldn't need these technological devices since they had their own spatial dimension. Now, in his panic, he was helpless.

However, their location could be roughly deduced from the location data. Shen Yanming guessed that they were in Lanze City, which was 320 kilometers away from Beiyan City, meaning they had crossed provincial borders.

He mentally calculated that Bi Qiaoan was probably in Qisang City, and if he walked, well, he didn't know how long it would take. But before the tsunami, it would have taken four or five hours by car.

Shen Yanming sighed. Such destructive power was beyond the capabilities of an ordinary tsunami. It was probably a once-in-a-century, a-millennium, or even a-millennium event, considering that most of Qinghua Kingdom's land was submerged by seawater.

With his thoughts returning to normal, Shen Yanming was unsure of what to do next. He discussed with those around him, "How about we swim forward and see if we can find a place to stay?"

This constant drifting isn't a solution.
