Meng Wu was filled with doubt and surprise. He took out a palm-sized mirror from the drawer, looked at it closely, and blurted out, "Damn!"
Shen Yanming opened his eyes and looked at the other person. He saw that Meng Wu's face was even more red than when their skin had turned into little red and little black people. It was really red, almost like he had over-exercised.
But in reality, he had been sitting here quietly for more than two hours. Surely he couldn't have gotten so tired from sitting for so long.
And it wouldn't be this hot, because the office air conditioning was on early in the morning and the temperature has remained at 26 degrees Celsius.
Meng Wu looked at himself in the mirror in disbelief, then put the mirror down and asked everyone, "Did I really touch something that caused an allergic reaction?"
Everyone looked at each other in bewilderment, because they didn't know.
So they all started asking Meng Wu what he had done that morning, hoping to find some clues.
But Meng Wu's actions were no different from usual; he trained in the morning and ate with his friends.
He left his office to check on his roommates. He returned ten minutes later to tell everyone, "They're all fine."
Thus, the situation reached a stalemate.
"Does your face hurt?" Seeing that Meng Wu's face was still changing, his colleagues didn't dare to touch it and could only watch from a distance.
Meng Wu shook his head, "It doesn't hurt, I don't feel anything. If you hadn't told me, I wouldn't have known my face was so red."
"Why don't you go check with the medical team? Otherwise, if we can't find the cause, we'll be very worried."
Meng Wu hesitated because he genuinely felt nothing. Should he go to the doctor and say, "Besides blushing, I have no other discomfort"?
Seeing that he didn't react, his colleagues also fell silent. They were also unsure what had happened. Perhaps if they hadn't gotten up and stretched, they wouldn't have noticed Meng Wu's unusual behavior until now.
Upon hearing about this, Guo Tingshuo rushed over to find out what was going on. Seeing Meng Wu's skin color, he immediately arranged for him to be admitted to the medical team for observation.
Even if they were completely clueless, going there would at least guarantee their safety. If Meng Wu's complexion changed and he went into shock and unconsciousness, they wouldn't be helpless.
Seeing Guo Tingshuo's serious expression, Meng Wu didn't say anything about not wanting to go.
He probably knew he had no choice but to go, but the thought of the cold needle and the smell of disinfectant in the air made him shudder.
After everyone left, Guo Tingshuo told them to continue working and went back to report to his superiors.
Shen Yanming watched the situation unfold, and although he didn't express any opinion, he kept frowning until he got off work.
As he stepped out of the office building and was once again scorched by the sun, an idea popped into his mind.
Could Meng Wu's unusual behavior still be related to sunlight? After all, there have been precedents, haven't there? His skin looked normal in the morning; perhaps it was just preparing to change color.
However, since there was no basis for this guess, Shen Yanming could only keep it to himself and quicken his pace to go home.
As soon as he opened the door, he smelled the enticing aroma of food. It seemed that Qiao An had already emerged from the spatial dimension.
He walked into the kitchen, wrapped his arms around her waist from behind, and whispered in her ear, "Darling, you've worked so hard."
He thought his wife would at least be a little shy, but to his surprise, she said, "Your arm is so hot, it looks like it's been boiled in hot water."
Shen Yanming was startled. He released Bi Qiaoan and touched his arms, then said, "No, I'm fine."
Bi Qiaoan didn't believe him and looked at him, saying, "Why don't you take a temperature gun? We have one at home anyway."
Shen Yanming nodded and ran to the guest room. Zhang Heping had used it before and hadn't put it away; it was still on the bedside table.
He turned on the light and shone it on his arm. Good heavens, it was 38.8℃! How is that any different from having a fever? But he was perfectly normal!
So I took photos of other parts of my body and measured them one by one, and got a different set of data, which were quite different.
Shen Yanming was stunned. While he could still remember, he quickly wrote down the data on the paper.
He wrote down exactly how many minutes he walked, what time he arrived home, and what time he took the measurements.
Then I discovered that the temperature of the exposed skin was one or two degrees higher than other areas. I don't know if it's from being exposed to the sun, or if it will recover in a while.
He took out his phone, set a timer, and planned to come back for the test in ten minutes. Then he went into the kitchen to help his wife prepare lunch.
In fact, Bi Qiaoan had already made most of the preparations.
She was home alone today and felt extremely bored. First, she harvested the ripe grains and fruits in her space and replanted them. Then, she harvested the pigs, cattle, sheep, fish, shrimp, and crabs that had grown.
The cramped space suddenly felt much more spacious, but doing things with her mind was just too convenient. Even after tidying up the space, it still didn't take more than a few hours.
Seeing that it was almost noon and knowing that her husband would be home for lunch, Bi Qiaoan prepared the vegetables and took them out of the space, then got busy in the kitchen.
With plenty of time at home, she has no need to use up her stockpiles.
As for being tired, that's not an issue. With such a huge cheat device, feeding and caring for the baby is practically like raising a virtual pet, isn't it?
They only need to be fed and played with when they are awake; otherwise, they are very easy to take care of.
She only dares to say that because the babies are still small and can't run or cry yet. Once they start crawling and walking, and you can't leave their side, let's see if she still dares to say such boastful things.
Shen Yanming hadn't been busy for long when he heard the alarm clock ring.
He rushed to his bedroom to take his temperature and was surprised to find that the temperature of his exposed, red skin hadn't dropped much.
He put his hands inside his clothes and placed them on his stomach, clearly feeling the temperature difference. His hands were much warmer.
I guess I didn't notice it before because my hands and arms were exposed to the sun, and there wasn't much of a temperature difference between them.
Shen Yanming was almost certain that there was something wrong with the sunlight. Once again, the sunlight had mutated. He wondered if this time, besides the change in skin color, it would cause other problems.
When you have something on your mind, even food doesn't taste good.
When Bi Qiaoan saw that Shen Yanming hadn't eaten much, she asked him what was wrong. He just smiled and said nothing was wrong.
Seeing that she couldn't get any information out of him, she didn't press the matter further. Anyway, her husband knew exactly what was going on and wouldn't hide anything when the time came.
After the meal, Shen Yanming helped wash the dishes, then lay down on the bed with his wife in his arms for a nap. However, he would occasionally stare blankly at his arms.
Bi Qiaoan noticed this and assumed he didn't like getting tanned, so she reminded him, "Just apply some sunscreen before you leave, then you won't have to worry."
