When Yan Yi spoke, her sentences were fragmented, her pace slightly faster within each sentence, but with wide intervals between them. Her voice was soft and weak, with a cautious, tentative air of nervousness. She sounded like someone who didn't have a strong opinion, or who didn't often make her own decisions.
She also always has the habit of secretly glancing at people out of the corner of her eye. Even when I caught her, she was too shy to admit it.
I praised her for being cute and she seemed surprised by my compliment, but I will always remember the way she raised the corners of her lips after we left the venue.
There is no doubt that she was happy with my praise.
After getting in the car, she actually started talking to me, became curious about me, and asked about my job.
