Chapter 12 I’m afraid you’ll rekindle your old feelings for me

Han Chen took it and asked, "Are you doing me a favor?"

Fang Shuo explained, "Doctor Han, you haven't been in Dongjiang long. Mr. Liang is taking care of you. Many doctors at the First Hospital of Dongda have membership here. It's an old tradition."

"Does your boss have any business dealings with the owner of this store?" Han Chen asked back.

Fang Shuo smiled awkwardly, "Look at what you said, it seems as if Mr. Liang is using you to attract customers for this store owner."

"Isn't it?"

"I've already told you that Mr. Liang is taking care of you. Mr. Liang and you are cousins."

Han Chen sneered silently. Fang Shuo's vague answer had already revealed the answer to the question.

Seeing that Han Chen was still looking down at the card, Fang Shuo couldn't tell whether Han Chen was willing to accept it. His eyes suddenly glanced at Zhou Mo beside him.

"Miss Zhou, how do the dishes here taste?"

Zhou Mo was completely unprepared, "It's fine."

"Have you tried the black fish soup? Isn't it delicious?"

"Yeah, it's pretty good."

"Blackfish soup is a signature dish here. Many people come from far and wide to try it. During the long holidays, it's in short supply, but members are given priority. Your school isn't far from here, so why don't you apply for one too?"

"Ah? Are you trying to sell me something here?"

Fang Shuo smiled but said nothing.

"It's obvious that this card is not issued by a poor student like me, so don't try to get it from me." Zhou Mo was not fooled.

Fang Shuo continued to smile without saying anything.

Han Chen immediately put the card away and said to Fang Shuo, "I've taken the things. You can go back now."

Fang Shuo smiled knowingly, as if everything was within his expectations. He said goodbye, "Okay. Doctor Han, Miss Zhou, I'm leaving first."

After Fang Shuo left, Zhou Mo looked at Han Chen curiously, "Just take the card your cousin gave you. It's free, so why not take it?"

Han Chen glanced at Zhou Mo and said lightly, "Free is the most expensive."

"A membership card is not a bank card, how expensive can it be? It can't be more expensive than your BMW, right?" Zhou Mo complained.

“What’s valuable isn’t the things, it’s the favors.”

"What favor?"

"The favors in the hospital," Han Chen glanced at Zhou Mo's bright, pure, yet confused black pupils, "You wouldn't understand even if I told you."

"How can I understand if you don't tell me?"

Han Chen sighed slightly. "The owner of this restaurant is a pediatrician at the First Hospital of Dongda University. She has connections with many key personnel in the hospital's departments. Have you ever heard the saying that inviting a big boss to the table is far less impressive than inviting the director of a tertiary hospital?"

"Liang Dongyan gave you this card because he wanted you to infiltrate the hospital and build connections?"

"That's the reason," Han Chen thought for a moment and added, "Liang Dongyan probably has business dealings with the owner of this store, so he introduced me here as a favor."

"Things in your hospital are too complicated."

"Wherever there are people, there are rivers and lakes. It's the same everywhere."

"That's true."

Zhou Mo raised his eyes and looked at Han Chen. His profile was sharp, no longer as soft as when he was young. A calm aura enveloped him, giving him a mysterious aura.

That is the charm of a mature man, a rosemary-like law of attraction.

The two came out of "Zhu Lu Zhongyuan".

"Where are you going back? Back to your parents or home?" Han Chen turned around and asked Zhou Mo.

"Back to school."

"I send you."

Zhou Mo hesitated and nodded.

The car drove smoothly all the way and the interior was very quiet, so quiet that it was a little embarrassing.

Zhou Mo couldn't stand it anymore and took the initiative to ask, "How long have you been back?"

"Two months."

"Oh, didn't you take the initiative to contact your old friends here and get together?"

"You are my only old friend."

“…”

Han Chen talked about the Gobi Desert.

Han Chen turned the car around the intersection and asked, "You want to ask me why I haven't contacted you in the two months since I came back?"

“…”

"Two months ago, you and Yu Yizhou hadn't broken up yet."

Zhou Mo was stunned for a moment, then realized something. She asked, "Then you came to me after Yu Yizhou and I broke up. Does that mean you still have feelings for me?"

"No, I didn't contact you before mainly because I was afraid that you would rekindle your old feelings for me."

Zhou Mo's face flushed instantly, and he said stubbornly, "Stop being so conceited."

"What about you? Why did you agree to marry me?"

"I should be the one asking you this question. Why are you proposing to me?"

Han Chen was stunned for a moment, but then he regained his composure and said, "I told you, it's because of my mom."

"Tsk, you're kidding," Zhou Mo said dismissively, "You keep saying it's for Aunt Liang, but how come you got married and didn't even take me to meet her?"

"You want to go?"

Zhou Mo was slightly startled, "No...I..."

She just didn't believe Han Chen's words and refuted him out of habit.

How come the conversation suddenly turned into her wanting to meet Han Chen's mother?

"It just so happens that she's coming to my place tonight. Are you coming over too?"

"Haha... I have something to do at school." Zhou Mo laughed dryly and answered dryly.

"What's going on at your school?"

"Uh...about the teacher's project."

"You're not doing experiments, so at most you're running code for your teacher and writing a project report. You don't have to be in school to do that, right?"

Zhou Mo's face was filled with shock.

How does he know everything?

"Don't be surprised. A few days ago, our department head asked me to look up your advisor's information. Our department may need to cooperate with your advisor in the future."

Zhou Mo's mouth twitched, and he couldn't smile at all. "From now on, we'll just meet each other every day?"

"Maybe. Whether or not to cooperate with your advisor will ultimately be decided by the academy."

Zhou Mo lowered his head silently and muttered softly, "Why do I feel like we may not be able to get a divorce?"

"No delay. The cooling-off period for divorce is over. You can ask for a divorce whenever you want. I'll cooperate."

Zhou Mo rolled his eyes at him. "You're treating divorce like a joke? You're divorced, but we still see each other every day. Don't you feel uncomfortable?"

"If you feel uncomfortable, then don't leave."

"..." Zhou Mo was speechless, "Do you want to leave or not?"

"I told you, look at you. I respect your opinion. I proposed marriage, and you agreed. You proposed divorce, and I'll cooperate with you. It's fair for each of us to propose once."

"Hey, you're trying to clear yourself and put all the blame for the divorce on me?"

Han Chen slammed on the brakes and the car stopped at an extremely high speed. Zhou Mo was thrown forward by inertia and then pulled back by the seat belt, half of his body was in pain.

"What are you doing?" Zhou Mo was furious.

"Is there any love in our marriage?" Han Chen asked coldly.

Zhou Mo was stunned for a moment, then answered truthfully, "No, what's wrong?"

"Since there is nothing, why do you care so much?" Han Chen's tone was a little colder than before.

"I..." Zhou Mo didn't know how to refute for a moment, so he could only say: "I was just joking, is that okay?"
