at night.
Han Chen sent many messages, most of which were apologies.
Zhou Mo took a quick look at his phone before going to bed, turned off the phone, stuffed it under his pillow, crawled into the quilt, and fell asleep.
Early the next morning.
She climbed up with two swollen eyes, and just then a bell rang.
Take a vague look.
It’s Shen Pan.
"What's wrong, little girl?" Zhou Mo said listlessly.
Chen Pan on the other end of the phone was even more listless, his throat felt like it was scraped by a razor, and he was hoarse and unbearable: "Momo, I seem to have a fever."
Zhou Mo perked up instantly and asked worriedly, "What's going on?"
"I don't know. I felt unwell last night, and this morning I felt feverish and couldn't get up."
"Where is Lu Zhishu?"
"I'm on a business trip. I'm still in Haicheng."
"Haicheng again..."
Shen Pan was puzzled, "What's wrong?"
"It's okay, just lie down and I'll be right there."
Zhou Mo quickly got out of bed and packed up, then quickly asked Shen Qingyi for leave.
Fortunately, he was not very busy recently, so Shen Qingyi quickly agreed.
Chen Pan now lives with Lu Zhishu, and they have rented a house in the Economic Development Zone.
The Economic Development Zone is a bit far from the central urban area where Zhou Mo is located.
Zhou Mo took a taxi and it took more than two hours to arrive.
The house that Lu Zhishu rented was in a newly built community. The greening was not perfect and the fourth phase was still under construction. The surrounding environment was noisy and the transportation was not very convenient.
The only advantage is probably that the house is new, well decorated and fully equipped with appliances.
Shen Pan had told her about the situation here before and said a lot of good things.
Zhou Mo gave Shen Pan his blessing on the surface, but he also had to give her his blessing. This was Shen Pan's choice, and as a friend, he should support her.
But Zhou Mo had another idea in mind.
Lu Zhishu was always feeling wronged and depressed.
What Zhou Mo cared about was not the quality of the house, but the surrounding configuration.
Instead, Lu Zhishu rented the house without considering Shen Pan's needs at all.
Chen Pan has now signed a comic book contract with the platform, but it is not a hit work. The royalties are paid once every three to five months or even seven to eight months, which is only two thousand yuan per month, and even less than two thousand yuan after deducting taxes.
It’s called freelance work, and you don’t have to go to work, but you don’t make any money.
Chen Pan is fully capable of finding a job in new media publicity and promotion. She can write copy, draw pictures, and make videos. She won't earn as much as she does now if she applies for a job in the publicity department of any company.
But living in such a remote place, where the commute takes two or three hours, how can I find a suitable job?
Chen Pan is not the type to live off others, and it is impossible for him to rely on Lu Zhishu for support all the time.
This irreconcilable contradiction will sooner or later erupt like a volcano, leaving only dust on the ground.
Love has always been a luxury in the adult world.
To advocate that being affectionate is enough to satisfy one's hunger is either stupid or bad.
But Zhou Mo couldn't say this to Chen Pan. It's not her place to meddle in other people's business. Chen Pan had her own choice, and all she could do was support him, not preach to him.
Or, you can let her know.
When men are unreliable, she still has friends.
Zhou Mo knocked on the door.
Shen Pan dragged himself against the wall and opened the door like a zombie.
"Momo, you're here..."
Zhou Mo was afraid that she could not stand steadily, so he immediately stepped forward to support her, and carried her back to the bed.
"Are you okay? How are you?"
"I can't take it anymore. It hurts so much." Shen Pan said in a painful voice.
Zhou Mo went to the bathroom to get a towel and wiped her briefly.
"Do you have a thermometer?"
Shen Pan said softly: "TV cabinet, under it."
Zhou Mo went to the living room and rummaged through the TV cabinet, and found an unopened thermometer.
She swung the mercury below the scale line and patted Shen Pan's outer arm. "Pinch it and see what the temperature is."
Chen Pan obediently raised her arm. Zhou Mo unbuttoned her collar and put the thermometer in, then used his cell phone to time it.
"If it's over 38 degrees, we go to the hospital."
Chen Pan frowned, closed his eyes, and nodded lifelessly.
The waiting time was very long. Zhou Mo couldn't sit still, so he went to the kitchen to boil water, and then found a few cups to pour out a few cups of water and let them dry.
It was almost time, so she took out the thermometer from Shen Pan's armpit.
"37.8, that's pretty high. If you're really feeling unwell, should we go to the hospital?"
Shen Pan shook his head. "It's just a fever. I don't want to waste that money."
Zhou Mo was helpless, but she understood Chen Pan.
Because she is the same.
I have no money, so I dare not get sick.
Even if you are sick, you should fight it if you can and not go to the hospital.
"Are there any alcohol and fever reducers?"
"No."
"I saw a pharmacy outside the community. I'll go buy some."
Shen Pan continued to nod.
Zhou Mo hurried downstairs and bought some antipyretics, alcohol, anti-inflammatory drugs, gauze, and cold medicine.
When the water was almost cool, she helped Shen Pan take the fever-reducing medicine.
He then used gauze dipped in alcohol to wipe Chen Pan's palms, soles of feet, neck, forehead, chest and back to physically cool him down.
"Drink some sugar water, it will speed up your metabolism."
Shen Pan could no longer hear what Zhou Mo was saying. Whenever she heard Zhou Mo's questions, she nodded.
Zhou Mo made a cup of sugar water and found a straw in the kitchen. She took the straw and inserted it into the cup, making it easier for Shen Pan to drink and less likely to spill.
Perhaps because he was sweating too much and was severely dehydrated, Shen Pan drank half a cup.
Zhou Mo helped her lie down.
Chen Pan murmured, "It's hot."
Zhou Mo lifted the quilt and only covered her belly with a corner of the summer quilt.
When I was taking the basic medical course, the teacher said that if you have a fever, you should not cover yourself up, as it is not conducive to the body's heat dissipation.
The correct way is to not cover yourself when it’s hot, and add more blankets when it’s cold.
