The police were stunned.
Zhou Mo seemed to have anticipated this and even prepared a chain of evidence to prove his point.
"If possible, please provide contact information."
"How many witnesses do we need? Are two enough?"
"Can."
Zhou Mo handed Han Chen and Qi Tan’s phone numbers to the police.
The police immediately contacted the two men.
And so, the three of them met again.
But the location is at the police station.
The two of them came in a hurry and arrived almost at the same time.
Fortunately, after testifying, Zhou Mo was "acquitted".
After coming out of the police station, Zhou Mo looked up at the sky.
It’s a nice, sunny day.
"Take my car back or..."
Looking at Zhou Mo, Han Chen didn't dare to ask further.
Qi Tan, however, avoided the car as if it were a plague, and got into his Mercedes-Benz without even saying goodbye.
After getting in the car, he lowered the window and said, "Why are you asking? Your wife sends her off herself, so who else can you expect to send you off?"
Han Chen's face darkened: "..."
Zhou Mo opened the passenger door of the BMW and got in.
"It should be Qiu Chenghe," Han Chen said while fastening his seat belt after getting in the car.
"Who is he?" Zhou Mo asked.
"Liang Dongyan's father has been safely dismissed, and a new person is needed to take over," Han Chen said. "Qiu Chenghe is the new successor. The series of things happening to you must have been arranged by him."
"Oh, I see," Zhou Mo said, "Then his methods are relatively mild. It seems that he just wants to intimidate me, and he hasn't done any substantial harm yet."
Han Chen: "I don't know much about him, but I didn't expect the Han family to be so blatant as to send him to take action."
Zhou Mo: "Why are you sure it's him?"
Han Chen: "There are only a few people who can mobilize the police station, and he is the only one from the Han family."
Zhou Mo: "It seems your grandfather is determined to protect your fourth brother."
Han Chen fell silent and tightened his grip on the steering wheel.
He turned his head slightly, his throat rolling slightly, and changed the subject.
He said, "Do you want me to buy you another car? It's inconvenient to go out without a car."
After Zhou Mo's Mercedes-Benz CLA was driven out by Zhou Zheng, it collided with Han Ze.
The damage was severe and it was scrapped.
The car's scrapping registration was also done, and Zhou Mo handled it all himself.
Zhou Mo never had to worry about these things before.
Zhou Zheng helped her with the procedures for buying the car, and Han Chen accompanied Zhou Mo to apply for the license. As for driving, Zhou Mo only needed to get a driver's license by herself.
Even when refueling the car on weekdays, Zhou Zheng and Han Chen would check it in time, for fear that Zhou Mo would forget to refuel and the car would break down on the road.
Now, Zhou Mo is fully capable of handling these things on his own.
No one is needed anymore.
"That car has some bad luck with it, so I don't want to buy it," said Zhou Mo.
Han Chen said nothing more, "If you need a car, you can come to me. This car is for you to drive."
Zhou Mo: "Yeah."
She hadn't ridden in Han Chen's car for a long time. Now sitting in the familiar passenger seat, she felt comfortable but also a little tired.
She leaned back and adjusted the angle of her seat slightly, "Call me when you get home. I want to take a nap."
"Okay," Han Chen asked, "Do you want to listen to music?"
Zhou Mo: "Yeah, I want to listen to piano music."
Han Chen chose "Greensleeves" by Richard Clayderman.
It’s a very classic piano piece and one of Zhou Mo’s favorite songs when he was in high school.
Han Chen sent Zhou Mo to Yuanshangju.
Zhou Mo has been living here since returning to Dongjiang.
Han Chen had never dared to ask her whether she wanted to move back to Century Garden. He didn't want to urge her, and this question was not appropriate to raise at this time.
Firstly, Zhou Mo had other things she wanted to do and had no time to think about these things; secondly, Liu Xiangru lived alone in Yuanshangju and her life was not easy, so it would be nice for Zhou Mo to accompany her.
After Han Chen sent the person down, he watched her go upstairs before leaving with peace of mind.
On the way back, Han Chen called Han Ji.
The call is connected.
Han Chen got straight to the point: "Second brother, where is Fourth Brother now?"
Han Ji: "Mingde General Hospital."
Han Chen tightened his grip on the steering wheel. "Any news from Grandpa and Third Uncle?"
Han Ji: "Do you want to ask how they will deal with Zhou Mo, or how they will exonerate Han Ze?"
Han Chen: "Both."
Han Ji: "As for dealing with Zhou Mo... I don't know. Maybe they don't bother to deal with Zhou Mo. She is too weak. It's easier for the Han family to deal with her than to crush an ant. It's too laborious and time-consuming. As for Han Ze... they can only keep it a secret now. They are also trying to find a solution while Han Ze is recovering. As for what to do... I feel that grandpa and the others are also in a dilemma."
Han Chen: "Will you protect him?"
"Hasn't the Han family been protecting him all along?" Han Ji sneered. "What do you think your fourth brother's business abroad is so prosperous? It's all thanks to hanging out with those old white men. He didn't get involved in drugs after returning to China. He was already addicted when he was abroad."
Han Chen's heart sank, "I should have thought of it earlier."
Han Ji: "We are in the dark. Not only you, but even I didn't expect Han Ze to go down this path."
Han Chen: "Do you think that Fourth Brother bumping into Zhou Mo's father... was just a coincidence?"
Han Ji: "You want to ask, is there any instruction from the Han family?"
Han Chen: "This is such a coincidence, isn't it? I can't help but be suspicious."
Han Ji: "I can't say for sure. As you said, it's just a coincidence. But think about it, who in the Han family would do this?"
