“Ahem…”
Suddenly, Liang Xinyu coughed lightly at the door, and Zhou Mo quickly broke away from Han Chen's arms.
When Liang Xinyun saw her hugging Han Chen, Zhou Mo's face felt a little hot. She didn't know where to look for a moment and could only look at Han Chen.
Han Chen looked at Zhou Mo with a smile, and said to Liang Xinyun: "Mom, Momo is not angry with me."
Liang Xinyun: "I heard it."
She glanced at Han Chen gently, then said to Zhou Mo, "What do you want for dinner? I'll make it for you. Han Chen bought a lot of food today."
"Isn't there chicken soup? Just drink the chicken soup."
Liang Xinyun looked at the pot of chicken soup embarrassedly and wrinkled her nose. "This smell is really terrible."
"It's okay," Zhou Mo smelled the scent of sour bamboo shoots in the kitchen, but the smell was very light.
Liang Xinyun was surprised: "Such a strong smell, don't you feel uncomfortable?"
Zhou Mo was puzzled: "The smell is not strong. I could smell it when I first came in, but now I can't smell it much."
Liang Xinyun was full of surprise.
Han Chen said, "Mom, is your sense of smell more sensitive? Momo and I don't think there's any smell."
Liang Xinyun couldn't say for sure. "Maybe. I probably smelled too many herbs when I was in school, so I'm more sensitive to the smell."
"Auntie, if you feel you can't stand it, go to the living room first. Han Chen and I will make dinner."
"Okay, I'll just eat white rice today." Liang Xinyun didn't want to disturb the young couple, so she happily went to the living room to watch TV. Before leaving, she reminded them, "If you can't drink that pot of chicken soup, just pour it out."
"What a waste! It will be ready soon." Zhou Mo said.
"Han Chen has turned a good pot of chicken soup into a dark dish." Liang Xinyun glared at Han Chen again and said to Zhou Mo, "You can do whatever you want. If you can drink it, keep it."
"Okay," Zhou Mo felt that it could still be salvaged.
After Liang Xinyun left, Zhou Mo took the initiative to ask Han Chen for an apron.
She stood by the pot, seasoned it briefly, and was about to scoop out a spoonful of soup, ready to taste it.
The apron's halter appeared above her head. Zhou Mo cooperated very well and stretched her neck to let Han Chen put it on her.
Han Chen stood behind Zhou Mo, stretched out his arms from both sides of Zhou Mo, smoothed the laces on both sides of the apron, and tied a beautiful bow behind Zhou Mo.
Zhou Mo also tasted the soup at this time.
"How does it taste?" Han Chen asked.
"It's okay. You only added spices. Not too much salt or seasoning. I'd like to add more ginger."
"I'll get it."
Han Chen went to the refrigerator to get some ginger, washed it under the faucet, and took out a chopping board to cut the ginger.
Zhou Mo added some salt to the soup, making it just the right saltiness, and then she added some cooking wine.
Han Chen cut the ginger and put it into the pot.
The enamel pot on the stove was bubbling with turbid bubbles. The temperature in the kitchen was a little high because the fire was on.
"Is it hot?" Han Chen asked.
"A little bit." Zhou Mo answered, but his mind was completely focused on the chicken soup pot.
"I'll cook for a while, you go out and take a rest."
"Let's go together, it will be faster."
"Well, I'll go steam the rice."
Han Chen took the rice cooker and started steaming rice.
Zhou Mo saw that the time was almost up, so he turned down the fire on the stove and turned around to prepare the dishes.
After Han Chen finished steaming the rice, he came over and helped Zhou Mo prepare the lettuce.
The two stood side by side in front of the sink picking vegetables.
Han Chen asked, "Where did you go yesterday? When I called you, it was either busy or there was no signal."
Zhou Mo: "When you called me, I was talking to Shen Pan."
Han Chen: "Why didn't you reply to me after you called?"
Zhou Mo: "The signal of the out-of-town number is not good. I left the city after making the call and there was no signal."
Han Chen: "Why didn't you say anything on WeChat? It's been a whole day, and you haven't even replied to my messages."
Zhou Mo couldn't help but smile bitterly when he heard his resentful tone, "Why don't you ask me why I don't want to reply to your message?"
Han Chen: "Why don't you reply to my message?"
Zhou Mo: "You are not honest."
Han Chen was puzzled, "Why am I not being honest? Why are you saying this suddenly?"
Zhou Mo stopped what he was doing and looked up at Han Chen's face. "What happened to you over the past ten years, especially the years you were abroad."
Han Chen: "I went abroad to study and spent every day in the lab. That's all gone."
Zhou Mo: "Really?"
Han Chen was very decisive: "Really not."
Zhou Mo didn't intend to beat around the bush and asked directly, "What about Luo Fu?"
Han Chen was surprised, "You know?"
Zhou Mo: "What else?"
Han Chen: "How did you know? Did Ren Huaibo tell you?"
Zhou Mo: "I know it even without Ren Huaibo telling me."
Han Chen's eyes darkened, "It must be Ren Huaibo who said that."
Zhou Mo: "Do you still want me to torture you? Just confess yourself."
Han Chen: "I don't have anything to recruit."
Zhou Mo was relatively calm. She nodded and asked, "Have you two ever been in a relationship?"
Han Chen was silent.
Zhou Mo's heart skipped a beat. "If you don't say anything, I'll take it as your consent."
Han Chen was embarrassed and hesitated for a moment before replying: "No."
"Can I assume you are lying?" Zhou Mo asked.
"I don't."
"Why didn't you answer me immediately? Why did you think about it before answering?"
Han Chen looked away, "I... was indeed very close to her for a while, but we were not in a relationship."
"Have you slept together?" Zhou Mo asked directly without any hesitation.
She knew that she couldn't convince herself no matter what she did, so she might as well get to the bottom of it.
Let’s talk it out first and make things clear.
