Chapter 237: Back so early?

After finishing the call, Yan Mo sat on the balcony and browsed her phone for a while, then she heard Aunt Li calling from inside the house. She looked up at the wall clock in the living room and saw that it was past four o'clock, time to start cooking.

Yan Mo clapped her hands, put away her phone, stood up from the hanging basket, and walked towards the kitchen. When she passed the living room, she used the same method, hanging the grapefruit peel in front of her nose to remove the odor. When she was done, she came to the kitchen and Aunt Li was already standing there waiting for her.

The dishes to be made today are basically meat dishes, which are difficult to prepare. She did not dare to be negligent. She followed Aunt Li's instructions, not daring to miss a step, and began to cook carefully.

The first dish he made was the Eight Treasure Duck, followed by the traditional white-cut chicken, then the braised pig's trotters and steamed sea bass. It took Yan Mo more than an hour to make these dishes. The last one was the drunken crab, a delicacy that every household in Mo City makes. However, before he started cooking this dish, he heard the sound of the door opening outside, and Si Ze walked in with a briefcase in his hand and a shoe box in his arms.

Seeing that he had taken a lot of things, Yan Mo quickly handed the spatula to Aunt Li and walked towards the door.

She came to the door, took the things from his hand, looked up at the time, and asked in surprise:

"Why are you back so early today?"

Si Ze looked up at her, and was slightly startled when he saw her appearance, then smiled and said:

"Didn't you tell me to come back for dinner?"

Yan Mo: “…”

She asked him to come back for dinner, but she didn't ask her to come back so early!

"The food isn't ready yet!" Yan Mo said a little frustrated. She always prepared it half an hour in advance, but it was still late.

Si Ze touched the back of her head, moved closer to her, put his nose close to hers, and sniffed the funny looking grapefruit peel hanging on her cheek. Then, smiling, he stepped back, took the shoebox from her hand again, and comforted her:

"It's okay, don't worry, I can wait."

Yan Mo's face turned slightly red because of his series of actions, mainly because the kitchen door was open and Aunt Li could see the door at a glance.

"Well, then you go sit on the sofa for a while! I'll be there soon." She didn't stop and ran to the kitchen. Then, she picked up the spatula again and started busying herself in the kitchen again.

Originally, there was only one dish that was not ready, but in a blink of an eye, all the dishes were ready.

Yan Mo put the marinated drunken crabs into a plate, and he and Aunt Li brought the dishes into the dining room one by one. Aunt Li saw that there was something on Yan Mo's face and wanted to remind him, but Yan Mo had already taken off his apron, picked off the grapefruit peel on his face, and ran out of the kitchen quickly, so Aunt Li had to give up.

Yan Mo came to the living room and didn't see Si Ze or anyone else, so she turned around and went to the study.

Sure enough, Si Ze was busy sitting in front of the computer. She knew that he had not finished his work and came back from get off work. It seemed that it was absolutely right not to ask him to accompany her tomorrow.

Seeing Yan Mo walk in, Si Ze kept typing away on the keyboard. He looked up from his busy work and asked with a smile, "Is the meal ready?"

"Yeah," Yan Mo nodded with a smile.

"Okay." Si Ze stopped his work, turned off the computer, walked to the door, came to her, took her hand, walked out of the study, and went to the bathroom first.

Seeing that he was going to the bathroom, Yan Mo pulled his hand away, stopped and planned to wait for him outside.

"You go too." Si Ze took her hand again and led her to the bathroom.

"Why should I go to the bathroom?" She had already washed her hands.

Si Ze smiled faintly and pointed at her pretty little face. Seeing this, she raised her hand blankly and wiped her face. Then, she lowered her head and realized that there was some black soot on her hand, which was rubbed off from her face.

This time, he didn't need to pull her. Yan Mo's face turned red and she ran into the bathroom in embarrassment.

When Yan Mo saw himself in the mirror, his face and nose were covered with black soot from the bottom of the pot, which made him look particularly funny.

She didn't know how she got it on her. Logically speaking, there shouldn't be any black ash on the natural gas in her house. It must have been something she accidentally touched while cooking in a hurry.

Yan Mo quickly lowered his head and rubbed it with cold water.

In the end, the black soot spread over a larger area the more she washed it, and her fair face turned slightly red from being rubbed. Si Ze felt distressed when he saw this, and quickly grabbed her little hand that was still rubbing her face:

"Stop rubbing."

"But it's still not clean!" Yan Mo wondered.

Si Ze touched her red face and nose, and said distressedly:

"Look, it's already red. If you keep rubbing it, it'll start peeling. You used to look so smart! How come you've become so stupid now?"

"The black bottom of the pot is oily and cannot be completely cleaned with cold water."

Being called stupid, Yan Mo refused to take it anymore and immediately shouted back:

"Of course I'm smart and clever, Si Ze, you're the dumbest one. You're the dumbest one." As she said that, she stood on tiptoe and rubbed her unwashed little face against his, with a sly smile on her lips:

"I see you still call me stupid."

Si Ze immediately took a step back, stretched out his hand to hold down her head, preventing her from succeeding, and threatened:

"You little rascal, you'll be spanked if you do bad things!"

Yan Mo didn't take his threat seriously at all. This direction didn't work, so she turned and tried another one. But with her weak arms and legs, he wouldn't let her, and she couldn't gain any advantage. Every time she changed direction, he would accurately intercept her with the same trick.

"You little rascal, stop it or not, I'm going to take action," Si Ze emphasized again.

"I won't." Yan Mo was stubborn.

Si Ze was not upset and put on a smile on his face. Since she didn't take it to heart, he wanted her to take it to heart. Children need to be taught.

Thinking about it, he suddenly grabbed her small waist and turned her over with a force...

With a "slap", he slapped her on the butt, neither too hard nor too light.

Yan Mo was stunned and stood there in a daze. It took him a long time to react. His eyes instantly turned red and tears flowed down his face.

That pitiful little look made Si Ze regret admitting his mistake:

"Momo, don't cry, I was wrong, I won't fight anymore."

His words had no effect, and Yan Mo's tears flowed even more violently.

Si Ze was at a loss, not knowing what to do. Finally, with nothing else to do, he bent down and put his face in front of her:

"I'll rub it for you, Momo, don't cry, I'll rub it for you."

A cunning light flashed in Yan Mo's eyes. She rubbed all the water on her face without hesitation. Seeing his appearance after being ravaged by her, she laughed out loud:

"Haha, Si Ze, you look so cute like this!" Yan Mo remembered Si Ze calling her stupid, and added another sentence in revenge:

"It looks not only cute, but also stupid,"

"Happy?"

"Hehe." Yan Mo answered him, showing a few white teeth.

Si Ze smiled and shook his head, then pulled her to the sink and said softly:

"Momo, bend down and I'll help you wash."
