Inside the Si family villa.
"Sister-in-law, if you don't believe me, I'll go check for you?" All the way, from the tea forest to the hall, and then to the kitchen, Si Mei followed Tang Ping closely, which was really maddening.
Tang Ping turned around and glared at her sister-in-law, and said irritably: "If that's the case, why did you ask me to invite the Shu family to the banquet? Why didn't you tell me when you just got into trouble? Now tell me, you know what you are thinking, don't say it here." Tang Ping is not stupid, she knows it very well in her heart.
"What else can I be thinking? I just don't want us to be kept in the dark." Si Mei immediately defended loudly.
"What are you thinking about, Si Mei, what do you want to say?"
A weak and old voice came from the second floor. The person who came was Mr. Si. He was leaning on a cane and supported by A Guan. He walked down the stairs and walked towards the kitchen door.
Tang Ping narrowed her eyes and looked at Si Mei, indicating that she could say whatever she wanted to say.
Si Mei's eyes flickered, and she unnoticedly retracted her phone, saying with an awkward smile, "Dad, no, I just said it's your 80th birthday, so tell your sister-in-law that we should pay attention to it." Then, holding the bamboo basket in her hand, she retreated, "I'll go pick some more tea leaves. I don't think this much will be enough for tomorrow."
Old Master Si watched his little daughter leave, then turned around to look at his daughter-in-law who was cooking in the kitchen, without asking any questions. He had taken care of them all his life, and for him at this moment, in these last moments, he didn't care about anything and just wanted to wait quietly for his little great-grandson to be born.
"Tang Ping! Now that you've made the tea, send some to Yan Mo and the Mu family." Old Master Si walked into the kitchen, grabbed a portion of wilted and half-cooked tea leaves from the pot, and gave the order.
"Okay, Dad," Tang Ping replied, "I'll pick some more after I finish these."
"Yeah." Old Master Si hummed, turned around and called A Guan from outside the door, helped him up and left.
Just as he was crossing the door, something suddenly occurred to him. He stopped and turned back to his daughter-in-law and said,
"Tang Ping, after the banquet, please get ready. This year we will go to our old house in the countryside to celebrate the New Year."
In previous years, we would go to the countryside the day after the Lunar New Year. Why are we suddenly planning to go to the countryside to celebrate the Lunar New Year this year? Tang Ping looked at the old man in confusion.
The old man naturally saw his daughter-in-law's doubts and casually explained, "This year it's time to register Miss Mo in our Si family tree."
After saying this, without even looking at his daughter-in-law's reaction, he turned around and, supported by A Guan, went back upstairs.
Looking at the old man's disappearing back, Tang Ping frowned slightly, and her sister-in-law's words and that momentary video kept flashing through her mind.
It was not until the teapot became scalding hot that Tang Ping came to her senses. She quickly collected her thoughts and began to stir-fry the tea with her hands.
Outside the house, Yan Mo and Si Ze walked out of the tea forest and happened to meet Si Mei who was returning.
At this time, Si Mei didn't see them and was still walking and cursing:
"Humph, if you don't believe me, you will regret it one day..."
Looking at this young woman, Yan Mo's eyes were filled with curiosity. How true was what she said? And what exactly did she show her mother-in-law? Should he ask her for clarification?
As soon as this idea appeared in her mind, Yan Mo rejected it. She couldn't let them know that she had heard the conversation, otherwise, she would be even more passive. How should she deal with the Si family? Yes, she shouldn't behave abnormally before she had found out the truth about this matter.
"Aunt." Yan Mo took the initiative to greet her.
Si Mei's scolding stopped abruptly, and she curled her lips in embarrassment. Perhaps because she had just said bad things about Yan Mo behind his back, she didn't dare to look at Yan Mo and Si Ze.
You know, if this matter is true, it would be fine, at least she has done a good deed. But if she is really wrong, she looked at the two of them holding hands, and she was afraid that her eldest nephew would be the first to settle the score with her.
Thinking of this, she said guiltily, "It's Ze'er and Momo!"
"Auntie, are you going to pick tea leaves?" Si Ze asked.
Si Mei nodded hurriedly and fled.
Si Ze didn't care and pulled Yan Mo into the house. As soon as they stepped into the hall, a faint fragrance of tea wafted over. Suddenly, Yan Mo felt a warm current passing through her heart, making her feel very comfortable, and even suppressed the nausea that had been coming over her.
Without stopping, Si Ze pulled her all the way to the kitchen door.
"Mom, let's fry the tea!" Si Ze said.
Yan Mo followed suit and called out obediently, "Mom."
"Yeah." Tang Ping replied indifferently, turned her head and her gaze stayed on Yan Mo's belly for two seconds. Then, as if she hadn't heard anything, she went back to making tea.
After saying hello, Yan Mo pulled his arm and pointed to the living room.
Si Ze blinked at her, then looked up at his mother in the kitchen and asked, "Mom, how hot is your tea?"
Tang Ping grabbed a handful of tea leaves from the pot, put it to her nose and smelled it. After confirming that the color, aroma and taste were satisfactory, she immediately stopped stirring and poured out the tea leaves from the pot.
"Why are you asking this?" Tang Ping turned around and asked indifferently.
Si Ze explained:
"If there's too much of this tea, I'd like to send some to Momo's family."
Yan Mo was startled, and before Tang Ping could speak, he rejected her:
"Mom, no need. We rarely drink tea at home." After saying that, she glared at Si Ze. How shameless of her to ask her mother-in-law for something to take to her parents' home so openly?
Si Ze seemed not to notice and exposed her words: "I remember grandpa likes to drink tea."
"Grandpa still has tea at home." Yan Mo said nothing and took it with gritted teeth.
Tang Ping smiled and said, "Okay, Momo, don't refuse. This year's tea production is higher than in previous years. After the banquet, you can bring some back to Uncle Mu!"
Yan Mo felt really embarrassed and wanted to refuse.
Seeing this, Si Ze hurriedly pulled her back, leaned down slightly, and whispered in Yan Mo's ear: "Mo Mo, this tea is delicious. It's made by my mother herself. It's very rare. I guarantee that grandpa will like it when he sees it."
"Yes! Stop pushing it back and forth. The old man has already told you. You can't just save his face!" Tang Ping agreed.
She looked at her son. This grandfather and grandson were really a good couple. They spoiled her, their daughter-in-law, to the sky. If she was happy to see it at other times, Tang Ping would once again glance at Yan Mo's belly inconspicuously.
Yan Mo saw this and felt bitter in her heart. She didn't blame her mother-in-law for being suspicious. She didn't expose it in front of everyone in the Si family. This was a good thing for her. She was really a very good mother-in-law.
Yan Mo was moved and finally agreed: "Okay then! Thank you, Mom."
After asking for the tea, Si Ze smiled, took Yan Mo's hand and walked out. Before leaving, he said thank you to Tang Ping without stopping.
