Chapter 322: Heart to Heart

"Which direction is my grandpa's house?" Yan Mo was troubled. She had never been to Changmen Village from Sixiang Village. She knew the time because she checked it on her mobile phone.

Si Ze didn't care: "Then search in every direction."

Afterwards, he wrapped her under his coat to protect her from the cold wind, and personally taught her how to use the telescope, taking her to search every direction with a 380-degree angle.

During this process, Yan Mo saw vast fields of plum blossoms, standing in this freezing cold and harsh environment, yet still in full bloom. When the breeze blew, the red petals revealed in the snow-white color were blown away by the wind, attracting people unconsciously.

There is also the clear gurgling water flowing from the mountains to the stream at the village entrance, and the festive scene of black and white magpies returning to their nests on the bare tree branches. The little rabbit runs out of the cave happily, exploring everything around with curiosity, and gathers with the children in the village at the foot of the mountain, happily showing off their newly acquired firecrackers.

Each scene seemed to have only appeared in paintings, but she observed it in this way, feeling indescribably happy and contented.

Yan Mo finally got to see her grandfather's house as she wished, and she jumped for joy on the spot.

"I saw it," Yan Mo said excitedly, "Grandpa is practicing Tai Chi with Tangtang in the yard." When he saw that Grandpa was also followed by a group of young people, he wondered, "Why are there so many people?"

"What's wrong?" Si Ze asked.

Yan Mo shook his head. Maybe it was the New Year and the migrant workers had returned!

Unfortunately, she waited for a long time but didn't see anyone else.

She turned the camera to look in the direction she hadn't seen before, then took the telescope off her hands and said with a smile, "Let's go back!"

Si Ze glanced at the time and said, "Don't wait any longer. The New Year's Eve dinner will take some time."

When she placed her hand on his, she felt a bone-chilling coldness and said affirmatively:

"I'm tired and want to go back and rest."

The wind was strong on the mountain, and he used his body to block the cold wind for her. He also held the telescope for her, and his hands were always exposed. She could not turn a deaf ear to his efforts for the sake of her own desires.

"Okay." Si Ze agreed with a smile.

Pregnant women get tired easily, Si Zeduo thought. He was afraid that she would get cold, so he withdrew his hand unnoticeably, put the telescope in place, and squatted down in front of Yan Mo.

It was not the same as last time. Yan Mo knew that she could not beat him in some matters, so she naturally lay on his back so that he could carry her. Occasionally, they would chat and walk slowly down the mountain. Perhaps it was because they got up too early. As they walked, she could hear the sound of steady breathing on his back.

It would be easy to catch a cold if he fell asleep like this in such a freezing cold wind. He quickened his pace but kept his steps steady so as not to wake her up. Soon, he returned to the old house.

Si Ze walked her into the room without stopping, put her on the bed, carefully took off her coat and covered her with the quilt before leaving the room. As soon as he left the room, he entered the old man's room.

When Yan Mo woke up, it was almost dinner time. She put on her clothes and went to the courtyard. Suddenly, the smell of barbecue smoke came, making her frown unconsciously.

She wanted to leave quickly, but her cousins who were eating meat at the barbecue stall saw her and waved to her:

"Sister-in-law, come here and have something to eat."

"No." Yan Mo smiled and shook her head. This thing used to be her favorite, but now she couldn't eat it at all. But with so many cousins present, she was embarrassed to leave and could only stand there awkwardly.

The other cousin nudged the cousin who was speaking with her shoulder: "Now that my sister-in-law is pregnant, she must not be used to the food."

The cousin-in-law who was speaking reacted instantly, patted the back of her head, and hurriedly urged:

"How could I forget such an important thing? Then sister-in-law, please leave!"

"Okay, cousin and cousin-in-law, you guys go ahead and do your work. I'll go find Si Ze first." Yan Mo agreed and quickly fled from here and went into the house.

She searched the house but couldn't find Si Ze.

Guan Dacheng happened to pass by, and Yan Mo was about to ask, but at this moment, the kitchen door was opened, and Tang Ping smiled and shouted to Yan Mo:

"Momo, come here quickly."

Yan Mo could only temporarily put aside the idea of looking for Si Ze and turned to walk towards the kitchen. When she stepped into the kitchen, a sweet fragrance came from it. Tang Ping came to her with a bowl of milky white soup and said with a smile:

"This is the wild crucian carp your dad caught from the stream this morning. It's delicious. Drink the soup while it's hot. There's still fish in the pot. I had someone kick out all the bones. Drink the soup and eat it later!"

Yan Mo looked across the table and glanced at the small clay pot on the stove. Was this a special meal for her?

She was a little embarrassed to speak: "Am I drinking alone? Where are Si Heng and Size?"

Before Tang Ping could speak, the kitchen door was pushed open from outside, and a voice came before the person arrived:

"Mom, did you make something delicious? It smells so good. I want to eat it."

The person who came was Si Heng. He stared at the soup in Yan Mo's hand with shining eyes and said excitedly: "Is this fish soup? Did Dad make it? I want to drink it. Give me a bowl quickly."

Since he was a child, whenever his family came to the countryside, his father would go to the creek to fish, so he and his brother would always drink the fish soup made by his mother, and that taste was his favorite.

"No! The weather is too cold this year, so your father only brought one suspender." Tang Ping said.

Si Heng was disappointed, but then he saw the casserole on the stove and his eyes lit up: "Then I'll eat fish!" Then he walked past Yan Mo and Tang Ping and went inside.

Seeing this, Tang Ping immediately reached out, grabbed her youngest son's collar, and pulled him back abruptly, warning him in a stern tone, "That's for your sister-in-law, how dare you snatch it away?"

Si Heng smacked his lips: "Sister-in-law, doesn't she have soup?"

"Mom, just give the fish meat to my brother. I've had enough soup." Yan Mo consoled her.

"That's right, look, my sister-in-law has spoken." Si Heng quickly agreed.

Tang Ping's attitude was very firm: "No." After that, she smiled and explained to Yan Mo:

"Momo, the New Year's Eve dinner will take a long time tonight. You will be hungry if you only drink soup."

Hearing this, Si Heng suddenly felt that he was an unloved child. He snorted and left the kitchen in anger.

Just then, Si Ze came towards him, and Si Heng became even angrier. He didn't even bother to look at his brother, and walked away with his head held high.

Before Si Ze came in, Tang Ping was afraid that the incident with her youngest son would happen again, so she immediately said, "No one is allowed to have any share of the fish soup today." Then she urged Yan Mo:

"Drink it quickly, or someone will start making plans."

Si Ze wanted to laugh. He just smelled the fragrance of fish soup and came in to ask his mother to save a bowl for the little girl. He didn't expect to see such a harmonious scene. This was so good. In the future, he would not be like others, caught between his wife and his mother.
