Chapter 126 Discussion

Qian Xiao's lips twitched. These two really are father and son; they don't even bother to change the way they praise each other.

"You two clean up that bird and let Mom cook it for you." Although there's not much meat left after removing the feathers, it's still a kind of meat dish, isn't it? Add some potatoes and it'll be a meat dish too.

Si Dan glanced at the bird in his hand: "Big sister, shall we cook it?"

"No, let Mom add some oil and stew it with potatoes."

Si Dan swallowed his saliva; that must smell delicious.

Qian Jiefang examined the wounds on the bird: "This was shot when you were used as a cannon?"

"Yeah, but my aim isn't great. I saw a chubby kid today. He's really good with a gun. He almost never misses. He's a sharpshooter. It's just that he doesn't seem very bright."

"Little Fatty?" Qian Jiefang couldn't immediately tell whose child it was.

San Dan reminded him: "Dad, it's my Uncle Zhang's second son, Fatty."

"Oh, it's your Uncle Zhang's son, Erpang. That kid's got some skills, huh?"

Old Zhang said that his second son can't do anything but eat all day long, so his talent is being overlooked.

"Tell me about what happened today." Qian Jiefang intended to ask him about the day's events.

San Dan and Si Dan kept talking, and Qian Xiao added what he had seen to Qian Jiefang's head. Qian Jiefang laughed so hard that he didn't even realize that the silly boy had been tricked. However, he had to have a good talk with Lao Zhang about the shooting accuracy. This guy was really a good prospect.

If a child has this talent, it must be nurtured from a young age, otherwise it will be a waste of that talent.

"This kid isn't very bright."

San Dan and Si Dan didn't understand: "Dad, why did you say that Er Pang Ge isn't very smart? Er Pang Ge is so amazing, he can kill a sparrow with a single shot."

Qian Jiefang was an absolutely qualified father. He explained the day's events to his two sons in detail, letting them know where Erpang had suffered a loss and how clever that little girl was.

"By the way, whose daughter is that little girl?"

Qian shook her head; she had just arrived and didn't know anyone.

Si Dan thought for a moment and said, "It seems to be Uncle Cao's house."

"So it's from the Cao family, no wonder."

The "Old Cao" her father mentioned was the instructor here. He was as cunning as a sharp tongue. It wouldn't be surprising if it was their child. This is what they call "like father, like son." The daughter is just as cunning as her father.

Qian Jiefang was a curious man. After dinner, he took his children to find Zhang Heping. He wanted to see just how powerful Zhang's son, Erpang, really was.

"Why did you come here?" This guy had finally managed to get his daughter to come over, and then he went home early.

Upon seeing Zhang Heping's face, Qian Jiefang recalled what his daughter had said and couldn't help but burst into laughter. After a few laughs, he recounted the events of the day.

Zhang Heping was both annoyed and amused. His second son was indeed a bit simple-minded, but for him to come to his door and make fun of his son was going too far. He punched Qian Jiefang on the shoulder.

"That's enough, that's my own son. But is it true that my son has an amazing shooting accuracy?"

“My daughter and son saw it with their own eyes, how could it be fake? I came here mainly to talk to them about the child’s talent. If the child really has such a great talent and likes this, you should start nurturing him as early as possible.”

"Tomorrow during the day, we'll take the kids to try it out. If my second son really has some skills, I'll train him properly."

"Speaking of which, Old Cao's daughter is quite cunning; she truly is worthy of being Old Cao's daughter."

Old Cao happened to be walking in front of Zhang Heping's house when he heard this and immediately replied, "Nonsense, if my daughter doesn't look like me, why would she look like a silly fool like you?"

Zhang Heping... How did he let that old fox hear him talking about him? Will this guy retaliate against him later?

Qian Jiefang shrugged, "Anyway, I didn't say anything."

Zhang Heping rolled his eyes at Qian Jiefang: "Why did you come here too? How could someone as noble as you condescend to come to my yard?"

Old Cao smiled and wasn't angry at all. He looked at Zhang Heping with the same tolerant eyes he would give a disobedient child, which made Zhang Heping feel uneasy.

Zhang Heping nearly exploded at the sight. "What the hell is that look? It's like he's looking at his own son."

Qian Xiao... Wow, this person is really something else! She seems even scarier than that smiling tiger teacher from her university!

Qian Xiao instinctively hid behind her father, feeling that being targeted by someone like that would never end well.

She was fine when she didn't move, but her movement actually caught Old Cao's attention: "Old Qian, is this your daughter, the high-achieving student who got into university at the age of eleven?"

Qian Xiao shuddered. Although there was no malice in his eyes, it was still quite chilling.

Qian Jiefang acted as if he hadn't noticed anything, and instantly became arrogant: "Yes, this is my daughter. She just came to see my wife and me. She'll leave here after school starts."

So, no matter how outstanding your children are, can they be as outstanding as my daughter?

Old Cao stared at Qian Xiao for a while and nodded, his smile less sarcastic: "He's a good kid, much better than you. Truly, a good shoot has emerged from a bad bamboo!"

"Screw you, who's the villain? What are you doing here?"

Old Cao chuckled: "I'm here to thank Old Zhang's Erpang for sending us two sparrows."

Zhang Heping clutched his chest. That damned old fox, was he just here to laugh at his son for being stupid?

Old Cao patted Zhang Heping with his large palm-leaf fan: "Alright, stop pretending. I don't believe you don't know why I came here."

The moment he said that, it seemed like his father and Uncle Zhang suddenly became normal. Is this how they usually role-play?

You guys really know how to have fun!

The adults stopped joking and each pulled up a small stool to sit down and start talking. They were all talking about Erpang, and how they would nurture him if he really had this talent. In their hearts, the child was the hope for the future of the country.

After discussing it for a long time, they decided to see what the child was capable of tomorrow first. After all, they had only heard their child say this and hadn't actually seen it. It wasn't that they didn't believe what their child said, but children's words are always a bit exaggerated.

The next day, before Qian Xiao even got up, she heard her two younger brothers chattering in the yard, occasionally mixed with her father's voice. She blinked, wondering why her father was still at home when the reveille had already sounded.

"Host, why aren't you up yet? If you don't get up soon, I'm going to wake you up."

"No, why are you suddenly so enthusiastic? Didn't you say I could sleep until I naturally woke up? I'm still a baby."
