Qian Xiao was strong, and his strikes were often much more lethal than others. Sun Kaicheng quickly arrived at Qian Xiao's side and they began fighting back to back. It has to be said that the combined lethality of the two of them was much greater than that of one person.
He didn't know how much time had passed when a cheer came and Qian Xiao finally came back to his senses from his excitement. Looking at the wild boar carcasses everywhere and the bloodstains all over his body, he almost vomited from the smell when he took a breath.
"Is that all?" I feel like I haven't had enough yet!
Sun Kaicheng took out his handkerchief and placed it in Qian Xiao's hand: "Wipe your face. They should all be dead. I don't know if any of them escaped."
Qian Xiao raised his sleeve to wipe his face and saw that his sleeve was also covered in blood. Without hesitation, he took Sun Kaicheng's handkerchief and began to wipe the blood off his face.
Uncle Bear's voice was quite deep: "Alright, hurry up and clean up, or we'll attract other wild animals."
Everyone got busy, and seeing the bloody wild boar carcass on the ground, everyone had a happy smile on their face. So much meat! Each family could get a lot, and they could have a prosperous New Year.
The wild boar was too heavy, and it would take time to carry it down the mountain. Sun Kaicheng took out five bullets from his pocket and put them in Qian Xiao's hand: "I still have bullets here. Let's be on guard. Don't forget there are wolves in the mountains."
"Yes, I had forgotten if you hadn't mentioned it. I'd better climb the tree and keep an eye on things; you can see further from up there."
"Uncle Bear, let's climb the tree and keep an eye on the surroundings. We heard wolves howling yesterday, so we don't want to be ambushed from behind."
"Alright, you two be careful. Wood, you take a few men and keep an eye on things around here. If anything seems amiss, shout loudly."
"Uncle Xiong, I understand."
On the second trip, some people from the foot of the mountain also came up, trying to get all the wild boars down the mountain in one go.
Shuangdan spoke in Qian Xiao's mind: "Sun Kaicheng said that the wolves really came over, but they are not yet within my detection range. However, there are not many of them, only twelve wolves in total."
Qian Xiao was startled: "Uncle Xiong, how much longer? It looks like something is coming this way."
Uncle Xiong also became anxious: "Those with experience, stay and help. The rest of you, quickly carry the game down the mountain."
Less than ten minutes after the men carrying the wild boar left, Qian Xiao spotted the wolf pack within Shuangdan's detection range. The pack wasn't large and didn't look particularly strong, but wolves are cunning and vengeful animals.
Unless they can capture all the wolves, even one could cause trouble for the village. People who easily venture into the mountains are reluctant to confront the wolf pack, but now they have no choice but to, fearing that the wolves will follow the scent of blood down the mountain.
"Uncle Xiong, there are twelve wolves to your right front."
"Be on guard," everyone awaited the order.
Seeing that the wolf at the front had entered firing range, Qian Xiao tried to calm her breathing and strive to hit the target with one shot. She only had five bullets, and it would be best if she could not waste a single one.
“Host, Sun Kaicheng said to hand over that wolf to him. You should shoot the wolf in the front first.”
"Good." With enough distance, Qian Xiaoshou steadily fired a shot. As the wolf at the front howled, the entire wolf pack became even more alert.
"Host, you're great! You hit it right on the forehead. This wolf isn't dead yet, but it's almost done for. It's no longer capable of fighting."
Qian Xiao was not blinded by his temporary victory. He took a deep breath and then aimed at the other wolves. One after another, the wolves fell before they even got close, and the remaining wolves stopped in their tracks.
They were probably hesitating between fleeing and advancing, but the smell of blood ahead was enticing their sense of smell. Wild animals are wild animals; their primal desire to eat is easily aroused.
With a howl from the alpha wolf, the rest of the pack seemed to be injected with adrenaline, rushing towards them. Just as the alpha wolf was about to reach its destination, Sun Kaicheng shot it in the eye.
The pain in its eyes drove the wolf into a frenzy. Qian Xiao quickly climbed down the tree to join the fight, and Sun Kaicheng also rushed down to help. However, there was still a wolf hiding to the side, out of range. They couldn't let any wolf escape, or it would cause endless trouble.
With Qian Xiao joining, everyone felt much more relaxed. Wolves are much harder to deal with than wild boars. Wolves are more agile, making it difficult to injure their vital organs in one go.
Sun Kaicheng fired the last gun, wounding the last wolf that was hiding. He quickly climbed down the tree and ran towards the wolf, raising his machete to chop at its head. The wolf was cunning and struggled to dodge Sun Kaicheng's attack.
Sun Kaicheng, after all, had lived through the apocalypse, and his combat experience was probably richer than anyone else's. The wolf dodged the fatal blow, but was still kicked in the injured area by the subsequent kick.
The piercing howl was so loud it hurt people's eardrums. Qian Xiao swung his knife down, almost dismembering the wolf opposite him, and quickly looked towards the direction from which the sound came.
Sun Kaicheng pressed his advantage, punching the wolf on the head. The wolf visibly stunned, and Sun Kaicheng raised his woodcutter's knife and swung it, splitting the wolf's head open. The wolf collapsed to the ground, dazed and confused, clearly dead.
Qian Xiao breathed a sigh of relief and then joined the battle. There were less than five wolves still able to fight. Some people on this side were also scratched by wolves, so Qian Xiao quickly replaced the injured people. Sun Kaicheng also came over to help.
Qian Xiao narrowly dodged the wolf's claws, but Sun Kaicheng's knife then slashed at the wolf's neck, spraying warm blood all over Qian Xiao's face, almost making him vomit.
"Sun Kaicheng..."
Sun Kaicheng quickly raised his sleeve to wipe Qian Xiao's face, but Qian Xiao, seeing that Sun Kaicheng's sleeve was dirty and didn't even know what was on it, turned his head away and said, "That's too much."
Sun Kaicheng glanced at his sleeve; it was probably from splitting open the wolf's head that some of its brain matter had sprayed onto it. "Sorry, I wasn't paying attention. Are you alright? Are you hurt?"
Qian Xiao looked down and found a relatively clean spot on her body, picked it up and wiped her face: "I'm fine, is it all over?"
Sun Kaicheng glanced back and said, "It's all over. Let's hurry back. The smell here is too strong. We don't want to attract any other things."
These people are exhausted now, and if another big guy comes, they might not be able to handle it.
Qian Xiao glanced at himself and saw that he was covered in dirt. Since he was already filthy, he didn't care anymore and simply carried a wolf on his back and headed down the mountain.
Sun Kaicheng then picked up a wolf on his back and caught up with Qian Xiao. The people behind him looked at each other in disbelief. Were kids these days really this capable? They thought Erdan was an isolated case!
