Chapter 9: Liu San's Death, Suffering the Sins of His Own
The Forbidden Weapon Guards were a violent organization specially established by the Great Yan Dynasty to capture and deal with those who violated laws and committed serious crimes by using force.
More than a dozen forbidden guards rushed into the village.
Seeing that they were carrying knives and looked murderous, everyone did not dare to stop them.
"Sir, I know where he lives. He lives not far from the entrance of the village."
As he spoke, Liu San pointed out the direction to everyone.
Without getting off their horses, they immediately quickened their speed and whipped their horses in the direction of where Lai Yang had lived before, quickly surrounding the house.
"Go, open the door."
The leader of the Imperial Guard gave the order.
Two imperial guards dismounted, kicked the wooden gate to pieces, and walked in to search.
After a while, the two men came out again and said, "No one is in the room."
The captain of the forbidden martial arts guard turned around and looked at Liu San with a cold gaze. Liu San was so nervous that sweat broke out on his forehead. He hurriedly said, "He does live here. I am not lying. You can ask other people. He may have left temporarily."
"Who is the most powerful person in your village? Let him speak out."
The village chief hurried out of the village. When he saw the aggressive imperial guards dressed in court uniforms, his heart skipped a beat and his eyelids twitched.
Liu San saw the village chief coming and pointed at him and said, "That's him. He is the village chief of our village."
"I am Cui Zhengsheng, an old man. Nice to meet you all. I am sorry that you have come to our small village today. I hope you will forgive me."
The village chief looked extremely terrified.
The captain of the Imperial Guard rode on his horse, looking down at the village chief from a high position, and asked coldly: "Let me ask you, who lives in this house?"
"To answer your question, sir, it was a young outsider with great abilities. He killed a wolf demon for our village. The villagers were worried about the wolf demon's revenge, so I lent him this house. In exchange, I asked him to protect our village." The village chief did not hide anything and explained.
"Do you know that this person committed a serious crime, not only exterminating an entire family, killing dozens of people, but also ignoring the laws of the court and daring to harm court officials, killing a county magistrate. Is he a serious criminal of the court?"
The captain of the Imperial Guard asked in a stern voice, emitting a terrible murderous intent that frightened everyone.
The village chief's face changed and he quickly explained:
"Please forgive me, sir. We really didn't know this before. We kept him because he saved the villagers and helped us kill the wolf demon."
"A few days ago, the villagers went into the city and saw the wanted poster for this man. We just learned that he was a wanted criminal by the court. I drove him away two days ago. He is no longer in our village. I have also told everyone in the village about this. If you don't believe me, you can ask them."
Hearing the village chief's words, everyone agreed.
The village chief did not say that he let Lai Yang go on purpose.
If that is really the case, releasing a serious criminal is a form of harboring a criminal, which is also a serious crime and he cannot afford it.
Now that Lai Yang has left, it’s still up to him to decide. I hope the village can survive this disaster.
Their small village was struggling to survive in the cracks. They couldn't afford to offend a powerful warrior, nor could they afford to offend the forbidden guards.
"Drive him away? How dare you conceal the truth and release a serious criminal of the imperial court without permission! What crime should you be punished for?!" the captain of the Imperial Guard shouted angrily.
The sound was deafening, and the powerful energy and blood shock made everyone's faces pale and they could not even stand steadily.
With a plop.
The village chief knelt hurriedly, his face filled with fear and he shouted:
"Please spare my life, sir. How dare we do that? A few days ago, I learned that this man was a serious criminal of the imperial court. I couldn't eat or sleep every day, fearing that he would brutally slaughter the village. I had no choice but to persuade him to leave. I have no intention of letting the serious criminal of the imperial court go. We are all ordinary people, all citizens of the Great Yan Dynasty. Our village is loyal to the imperial court. Please understand, sir!"
However, the captain of the Imperial Guard did not want to listen to the other party's argument and his expression was cold.
They believed Liu San's words and traveled thousands of miles to capture the murderer, but they came up empty-handed. How could they explain themselves when they return?
"You all released the imperial criminals secretly and protected the murderer. You should all be punished for the same crime and sent back to prison to await trial!"
The captain of the Imperial Guard gave the order indifferently.
Hearing this, everyone panicked and looked incredulous.
How could they release the criminals privately? How could they shield the murderer? They still need to arrest them and put them back in jail.
Is the yamen's prison a place where people can stay? After entering, few people can come out intact.
"Are you still being reasonable? Don't think you can slander people just because you are an officer. I will go to the government office to sue you!"
Seeing the village chief, who had always been very kind to his family, being humiliated, Liu San's wife stood up bravely and started cursing like a shrew.
However, before she could take a few steps forward, a forbidden martial arts guard drew his sword and blood spurted out.
Liu San's wife widened her eyes in fear and her body gradually turned cold and fell to the ground.
Seeing this scene, everyone couldn't help but gasp, their expressions pale with horror.
“Kill…kill…kill!”
Liu San was stunned in the spot, then hurriedly ran to his wife's body and hugged her body: "Wife, wife, don't scare me, wife, wake up."
"Those who resist will be killed without mercy." The captain of the guards glanced at everyone with cold eyes and made a cold-blooded and ruthless judgment.
"No, it shouldn't be like this. This is different from what we agreed beforehand. You just need to arrest the person. Why did you kill my wife! Give me my wife back!" Liu San's eyes were red as he glared at the forbidden guards.
The next moment, he roared and rushed towards the Forbidden Guards, followed by a sharp pain, as a sharp knife pierced his chest.
"Humph, you are just a peasant, and you are worthy of questioning the Forbidden Martial Guards? You are courting death."
"Liu San!"
"You are so unreasonable."
Everyone was afraid, angry and filled with despair.
"Reason? The swords in our hands are reason. If there are any more resistance, we will kill them all on the spot."
"Village chief, please think of a solution."
"Sir, please show some mercy. We really didn't protect the criminals. We are all ordinary people. We have never done anything illegal."
The village chief was kicked to the ground by a forbidden weapon guard and lay on the ground for a long time without getting up, his face ashen.
The forbidden weapon guard who attacked threatened fiercely: "Stop talking nonsense, if you keep talking, I will chop you up."
"Catch them all back."
For a moment, the scene was in chaos. Some young and strong men in the village who were unwilling to sit there and wait for death resolutely turned around and ran away and hid.
However, there was no way the Imperial Guards would let them go, so they chased after them with knives in hand.
"It's over. Everything is over."
The village chief showed a look of sorrow. He didn't expect that their village was not destroyed by the wolf demon, but instead by the Forbidden Guards.
He could almost predict what kind of terrible punishment and torture they would face once they were caught by the Forbidden Guards and taken back to prison.
call out!
However, at this moment, a strong sound of breaking through the air was heard.
A stone hit the leg of a guard who was chasing the villagers hard, knocking him to his knees with his leg bones broken.
Immediately afterwards, several stones flew over, injuring and knocking down several forbidden guards.
Seeing this, the forbidden martial arts guards were startled and looked alert: "Be careful! Someone is attacking us!"
The captain of the Imperial Guard had a cold expression on his face and shouted loudly:
"Who is the villain who is secretly attacking me? Come out if you dare."
