Chapter 17 The Knocking at the Door in the Middle of the Night

"Dinner's ready, you little bastards!"

Qi Dashan carried a slop bucket in one hand and opened the door of the tiled house with the other. His hoarse voice called out as he walked into the house against the backdrop of the setting sun. Just as he was about to put down the slop bucket, he saw a small fist coming towards him with a slight whistling sound.

Bang!

A small fist landed on the fragile nose, and the force, comparable to that of an adult, instantly broke the bridge of the nose, causing thick blood to drip down.

"ah!"

In pain, Qi Dashan let out a scream, released the swill bucket from his hands, and instinctively covered his nose with both hands, letting out a cry of pain. The intense pain made the fat on his cheeks twitch uncontrollably.

"You little bastard!"

The sticky substance his hands touched, combined with the metallic taste that seeped into his mouth, made Qi Dashan instantly realize what he had just experienced. The intense pain caused his small eyes to reveal extreme brutality.

But before he could even react, just as he was getting used to the pain of his broken nose, the child who had punched him picked up the garbage can from the ground, turned it upside down, and slapped it on his head.

Suddenly, the man was drenched in leftover food, not a single piece of meat, and the swill bucket blocked his view, which made Qi Dashan even angrier.

Unfortunately, just as his anger flared up, a sharp pain shot through his abdomen. One blow, two blows, three blows... one after another landed on his soft belly, causing the burly man to fall to the ground, curling up into a ball like a shrimp.

"ah!"

Suddenly, the boy who had been ambushed let out a desperate scream, because a small foot had kicked him hard between the legs, a merciless kick that seemed to shatter something.

For males, this is the ultimate pain and the ultimate humiliation.

Qi Dashan's face turned blue from the excruciating pain, and his eyes bulged out, appearing several sizes larger, with dense blood vessels bursting from the whites of his eyes, making him look even more ferocious.

"You're asking for it!"

Enraged by the repeated attacks on his vulnerable spots and vital points, the villain was furious. He never expected that he would be ambushed like this simply because he came to deliver food.

"I'm going to kill you all, you..."

Before he could finish speaking, Qi Dashan, who had regained his vision after falling and freeing himself from the slop bucket on his head, saw a foot looming in front of him before landing on his face.

Bang!

The back of his head was forced to hit the muddy ground, and his skull was impacted. The man who had just been so fierce was suddenly unable to speak. He was dizzy and didn't even have the strength to get up.

Bang!

But this was just the beginning. With enough anger building up in his heart, Feng Bingwen, spurred by the prospect of escaping death, kicked the fallen man repeatedly.

If they don't get rid of this guy, these three kids won't be able to get very far, even if they try to escape.

"Brother Feng, that's enough, let's run away quickly, stop fighting!"

The other two children stared in disbelief as Feng Bingwen, who was about the same age as them, brutally beat up a strong adult man. They were also shocked by the ferocity with which he kicked and stomped at the man's head before they came to their senses.

"Walk!"

Feng Bingwen was giving it his all with every kick. Looking at the boy at his feet, whose face was a bloody mess from his kicks, so much so that his features were unrecognizable, he wasn't sure if the boy was dead, but he was certain that the boy was temporarily unable to get up and notify the others.

Looking at the dim night outside, Feng Bingwen took the lead and rushed out of the house, breathing in the air of freedom. At that moment, he finally saw where the small house where he had stayed for more than a day was located.

This is located on the edge of a mountain village. Looking up, you can vaguely see many houses built along the mountainside in the afterglow of the sunset.

Looking around, the mountains are vast and green, with lush grass and deep forests. As night falls, the mountains turn into a vast expanse of black, and the dark jungle inspires awe.

In the houses behind them, many candles were lit, casting a warm glow under the dim sky.

Feng Bingwen certainly didn't dare to approach these houses. The group of child traffickers weren't acting alone, but in groups, and these houses were most likely their residences.

"Run!"

Feng Bingwen dared not delay, chose a direction, and led the way into the darkness.

The two children who were also able to move looked at the houses above them that seemed to be moving, and dared not delay. They followed closely behind Feng Bingwen and rushed into the dark wilderness.

"Don't be afraid!"

As soon as Feng Bingwen rushed into the woods, he felt the malice of the primitive environment: messy bushes, tall tree branches, and haphazardly growing vines.

Every step forward requires several times the effort of walking on flat ground, and if you're not careful, you'll get a cut that stings painfully.

Even so, Feng Bingwen never thought of turning back, nor did the two little ones who followed closely behind him. Although being scratched by grass and trees would hurt, it was far less painful than being beaten by the children.

After walking for a while with difficulty, no one came after them, as if the group of children had not noticed that a child had run away.

So, after struggling to find their way through the jungle in the dark for a while, Feng Bingwen led the two children to a small path overgrown with weeds. Although it was still difficult to walk on, it was much better than crawling through the forest.

Under the still-bright moonlight, Feng Bingwen led his two children in the opposite direction from the mountain village.

His only thought now is to find the nearest county and report it to the authorities.

His childhood friends from the village were still imprisoned in the village behind him, but Feng Bingwen knew his own limitations.

His current strength is only equivalent to that of an adult. He can take down a man by launching a surprise attack, but that's about it. He can't possibly take on that group of human traffickers one-on-one, not to mention that those people also possess evil magic.

"Brother Feng, there's light over there!"

Three children walked together through the dark fields at night. Because of his dream, Feng Bingwen was more mature than his peers, but he was still just a child. He was a little weak, but he gritted his teeth and persevered. The other two children were even more determined.

The light shining in the night at this moment is delightful, and the faint candlelight symbolizes human habitation.

"Let's go take a look!"

Even Feng Bingwen could only make this decision at this point. He was unfamiliar with the area, and where could he possibly run off to with two little kids in the middle of the night? Even if he wanted to report to the authorities, he would have to ask around to find out the directions.

"Looking at the mountain makes one's horse run itself to death," and after walking for a while under the cover of night, they finally arrived at the thatched hut that emitted light.

Knock knock knock!

A rhythmic knocking sounded, followed by a "thud" as something like a table or chair was knocked over. The people inside seemed to have been startled by the knocking in the night.
