Chapter 33 True Immortals, Buddhas

"Dao Xuan True Immortal!"

Black Dragon, who was already preparing to fight his way back home, turned his head and looked in the direction from which the voice came. He saw a middle-aged Taoist priest with an ethereal air holding a whisk, sitting on a colorful auspicious cloud, smiling at him.

"Are you plotting against me?"

"Purple Dragon King, what makes you say that? I merely happened to be passing by and happened to witness your divine power, devouring all the lightning tribulations. I couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration for your talent!"

The immortal sitting cross-legged on the cloud was somewhat surprised, but still offered an explanation.

"Ha, a dignified Taoist immortal, turns out to be a coward who dares to do something but not to admit it."

The Purple Dragon King sneered, not believing such a coincidence at all. He had just survived that abnormally abnormal tribulation, and this True Immortal jumped out and said he was just passing by. Only a fool would believe that.

"Indeed, you are a creature born from a wet egg. Fine. I am kind-hearted and will not hold it against you. Purple Dragon King, would you be willing to join my sect and become my guardian beast? I can grant you a chance to transform into a true dragon of the Nine Heavens!"

The Taoist shook his head, then revealed his true intentions by showing his face.

Although he was a Taoist who cultivated in seclusion and had even attained immortality and roamed freely between heaven and earth, he still couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration for a dragon that was only half a step away from transforming into a true dragon. He couldn't help but want to bring the dragon back to his mountain sect and carefully nurture it.

"This king *****"

Upon hearing the immortal's demand, the Purple Dragon King unleashed a torrent of curses, pouring out all the foul language he had learned during his travels in the mortal world, making no attempt to conceal his anger towards this shameless immortal.

"You wicked beast, even your father would have to address me with respect. You are nothing but a dragon stuck in the Dragon Transformation Tribulation, how dare you be so arrogant?"

Despite being insulted by a dragon, the immortal atop the colorful auspicious clouds remained unmoved. Behind him, a five-colored celestial light rose, eclipsing the sky and pressing down, seemingly intent on suppressing this arrogant dragon.

"If my father were here, you old Taoist priest, would you dare to claim that you can take me into your sect? You wouldn't dare even if you had ten times the courage!"

Not to be outdone, the black dragon saw that this immortal was actually attacking it and did not run away. It opened its mouth and a purple light burst out, accompanied by the wailing of all living beings, to block the five-colored light that was spreading and protect its winding dragon body.

"You wretched creature, you actually followed the path of demons, allowing you to cultivate such supernatural powers. If I give you more time, another demonic dragon will appear in this world. I cannot let you live!"

The immortal sitting on the cloud was visibly shocked to see that the mysterious light emitted by the black dragon could actually withstand his divine power.

His originally kind and gentle face turned murderous. He stopped lingering in the clouds and instead floated up into the air. With a wave of his hand, accompanied by a sword hum, a three-foot-long green sword appeared behind him.

Clang~

A snow-white sword beam traversed the sky, parting the scattered clouds, and in an instant, it cleaved through the mysterious light spewed by the black dragon, landing on his body. Accompanied by a painful cry, shattered dragon scales, stained with dark dragon blood, rained down from the sky.

"Dao Xuan, I will remember this grudge. When I achieve the body of a true dragon, I will definitely seek revenge on you."

"You beast, where do you think you're going?"

The immortal who had drawn his sword was already intent on killing, and he would not allow such a calamity to escape. However, just as he stretched out his palm, he saw that the space where the black dragon was located had turned into a void and chaos, making it difficult to track.

"It was that old dragon that gave him this life-saving method; he really spared no expense."

The immortal frowned, raised his palm and began to calculate. For an existence like him, who had transcended the Three Realms and was not bound by the Five Elements, if he wanted to live a carefree and immortal life, he had to sever all karmic ties. Karmic ties that would become future calamities naturally had to be nipped in the bud.

"Huh?"

But after calculating for a moment, the immortal let out a soft sound of doubt, and a look of surprise appeared on his face.

"What's wrong with this dragon? It's actually beset by a deadly calamity! A deadly trap! I've become part of its many deadly traps. How interesting. Who is orchestrating this, daring to use me as a pawn?"

After calculating several more times and confirming that the result was correct, the immortal could not hide his surprise, and his mind became heavy. He no longer needed to worry about the dragon; it was doomed, and even his father could not save it.

What's truly concerning now is when this dignified immortal fell into someone else's trap and became a pawn in their game.

"Could it be..."

After calculating in detail but finding no fault, the immortal raised his head to look at the sky, but quickly lowered his head again, shaking it somewhat unconfidently.

"impossible."

Meanwhile, as a certain immortal wondered if he had been tricked, the void above a great city suddenly cracked open, and a black dragon bearing tragic sword wounds rolled down from it, its broken scales dripping into the city with its heavy, lead-like blood.

"Ah! What's that?"

"Mom, look at the dragon!"

May Buddha protect us!

The sudden appearance of the black dragon startled and terrified the city's inhabitants. Meanwhile, the severely wounded dragon king, gazing down at the bustling human city, couldn't help but feel a surge of joy.

"I was forced to use the Qiankun Talisman that my father gave me, and I was able to teleport to any continent outside of the Desolate Continent. I didn't expect to run into this human city as soon as I arrived. I just happened to become blood food to heal my wounds."

"Amitabha!"

Before the black dragon could make its move, a grand Buddhist chant suddenly resounded throughout the city. As golden Buddhist light spread throughout the city, a majestic Buddha appeared out of nowhere and sat in the sky above the city.

The benevolent Buddha slowly raised his head, facing the black dragon whose face was almost blank.

"This humble monk sees that you, benefactor, are deeply sinful and your bloodlust is like the sea. I urge you to lay down your butcher's knife and enter my Buddhist order. One day you will surely be transformed into a heavenly dragon bodhisattva!"

"I've been teleported to the bald monk's territory?"

The Purple Dragon King stared in disbelief at the colossal Buddha before him. Without even exchanging a word of retort, his massive dragon body transformed into a beam of light and shot off in a certain direction.

If he remembered correctly, there seemed to be only one continent in the entire world where the Buddha could manifest himself at will above a city.

“Amitabha Buddha, benefactor, you have a karmic connection with the Buddha, why remain so stubbornly deluded!”

Looking at the fleeing dragon, the Buddha's face remained compassionate. He slowly extended a palm, which, though seemingly small, instantly overturned the sky and caught up with the fleeing Purple Dragon King.

"Let go of your attachments, enter the Buddhist path, cleanse your resentment, and you can attain enlightenment!"

As soon as the words were spoken, the golden Buddha's palm closed, trapping the dragon that had fled for tens of thousands of miles within it, and the light it had transformed into suddenly stopped.
