Chapter 141 Searching in vain

As the sky gradually darkened, Ye Xin searched for her target in vain and had to find a place to stay first.

She stopped by a stream, threw out a tent and set up camp.

This place is already in the middle of the forest. She searched for the big tree several times throughout the afternoon but couldn't find it. For a moment, she even suspected that Shui Beibei had remembered the wrong location.

Ye Xin plans to go again tomorrow morning. If she still hasn't found the place, she will really have to resort to unfair means.

She built a fire and roasted a castrated chicken.

Grease dripped onto the fire, making a sizzling sound.

She turned the roast chicken, watching with delight as it took on a sugary color.

"OK, finally I can eat."

Ye Xin took the chicken off the rack, blew on it to remove the heat, and took a careful bite.

"Hmm~"

This is the most delicious food in the world.

Ye Xin finished half a chicken in a few bites, and then she wrapped the rest in brown paper and prepared it as breakfast for tomorrow.

After eating, she walked around the stream twice to see if there were any small fish there. She wanted to drink some fish soup the next morning.

After searching in vain, Ye Xin had to go back empty-handed.

When she looked up, she suddenly found a black object stuck across the stream.

She took a closer look and found that it was a black cloth shoe with a white sole. Judging from the size of the shoe, it should be for a child.

Child?

There is no one living here, how could there be children's cloth shoes?

Ye Xin stepped into the air and walked to the other side of the stream, bending down to pick up the shoe stuck in the gap.

"They really belong to a kid, and judging by how worn out they are, they were probably dropped here in the last few days."

She muttered to herself, staring blankly at the black cloth shoes in her hands.

Although there weren't many monsters in the Dark Forest, that didn't mean there weren't ordinary prey. This place was right in the middle of the forest, so what kind of kid could get in here?

For some reason, Ye Xin thought of the border town again.

Because the information she had learned from the sect before was limited, she spent money to buy information related to the Dark Forest.

At that time, the seller assured her that there was a kind of pastry that was very famous in this border town. He had visited the town three months ago and bought a lot of specialties.

Seeing that the man was so sure, Ye Xin didn't ask anyone else for information. She believed what he said and made a special trip to the town to see if the pastries there were really delicious.

As a result, she flew for a long time but ended up missing.

Why is there such an indescribable weirdness between this small town that suddenly fell into decline and the cloth shoes that suddenly appeared in the forest?

She returned the same way, walked into the tent and lay down. Forget it, the most urgent thing was to find the teleportation array first.

As for these trivial matters, let it all depend on fate!

If the child has a connection with her, he will naturally appear around her and be saved by her.

As Ye Xin was thinking, she gradually felt sleepy. Outside, she could hear the crackling sound of burning firewood, and occasionally the cries of small animals could be heard in the forest.

She closed her eyes and slowly fell asleep in this environment.

.........

"It's almost here, it's almost here."

Gui Xiaohua hid from the heavy rain and stumbled into a tree hole. She crawled in as usual, supported herself by the middle of the trunk, and climbed to the top of the tree with nimble hands and feet.

She grabbed a stick stuck in the trunk and pushed off to sit on it, then adjusted her sitting position so that her legs were together and leaning against the trunk behind her.

Gui Xiaohua took out a tightly wrapped object from her arms. She opened the leaves layer by layer, looked at the things inside and swallowed hard.

There were a few green fruits placed among the leaves. This was the only food she could find to fill her stomach in the past few days.

She took out a fruit the size of a baby's fist, wiped it on her clothes and took a bite.

The fruit tasted very sour, but Gui Xiaohua obviously didn't care. She ate it in big mouthfuls, as if she was eating some delicacies from the land and the sea.

After she finished the fruit in her hand, she still didn't feel full. She touched her flat belly and took out another one with some heartache.

If you finish eating tonight, you can’t eat again tomorrow morning, otherwise there won’t be enough food the day after tomorrow.

As she ate the fruit, her mood suddenly became depressed.

She has been gone for so long, her grandmother must be very worried, and I don’t know if the old lady can hold on any longer.

She buried her head and suddenly a few tears fell on her face. She wanted to go home, she wanted to go home, she wanted to eat the fried eggs cooked by her grandmother and the fruits grown in the yard of her home.

"Woo woo~"

Gui Xiaohua covered her mouth and began to sob silently.

........

The sky gradually turned light. It had rained heavily last night, and the air was still filled with the smell of earth after the rain.

Ye Xin came out of the tent yawning. She stretched and walked to the stream to wash her face.

The cool stream water splashed on her cheeks, suddenly driving away her sleepiness.

“I hope I can gain something today!”

After washing up at the stream, she returned to the camp and packed up the tent. She cheered herself up and walked towards the woods on the right.

The right side seemed to be denser than the left, and she carved a symbol on the tree as she walked.

Ye Xin released her mental power towards the trees, and then swept over them in large areas. When she swept over a huge tree, she noticed that there seemed to be some movement inside.

She thought she had found the teleportation array, so she couldn't wait to walk under the big tree and look up at it.
