Chapter 153 The Fortune-Devouring Pearl Really Came

On a country road, a girl in her twenties was walking quickly on the road. She stared ahead, and the surrounding scenery turned into reflections in her eyes.

"Master, is the family massacre related to the Fortune-Devouring Pearl?"

A voice popped up in the girl's mind. She kept walking and said with certainty, "Do you still remember Ye Ming?"

The name sounded familiar to Xingchen. He recalled that he was a former disciple of Guangyun Sect. "Long Aotian from that sect?"

"Yes, that's him. When I first extracted his memories, I discovered that he had done the same thing in the secular world. In order to steal other people's treasures, he sucked the life force out of them."

Now, a similar thing happened in front of Ye Xin again, forcing her to think about the Luck-Devouring Pearl.

"But this tragic incident happened a long time ago. Wouldn't it be a wasted trip if we went there now?"

"How could it be a wasted trip? If it's a crime, there will definitely be clues left behind."

Ye Xin stopped his hurried steps and looked at the abandoned courtyard in front of him with deep eyes.

A star floated out from between Ye Xin's eyebrows, flew over the courtyard, and emitted a light yellow spot on its body.

Sparse spots of light fell in various corners of the yard, and when the light spots touched the objects inside, bursts of yellow smoke were emitted.

Xingchen sensed the presence of something in the smoke and exclaimed in surprise, "Master, the Fortune-Devouring Pearl really has been here."

When Ye Xin saw the yellow smoke, his face darkened and he pushed open the gate of the yard with a frosty expression.

"Bang!"

With a loud bang, the door collapsed under the weight.

Ye Xin stepped into the yard, and when she saw the scene inside, her face turned cold again.

The beam in the middle of the main room broke and fell, hitting the table below. There were several broken ceramic bowls on the table, and food was scattered on the ground below.

After a few months, the food had already rotted, with green spots growing on it and a few white things flowing inside.

Inside the yard, the ground was covered with bloody handprints, and large pools of blood seeped into the ground, staining the soil black.

"Ugh~"

Xingchen couldn't stand the smell and ran to the yard to vomit. Of course, he couldn't vomit anything and could only retch in the yard.

Ye Xin was not surprised. She closed her sense of smell and walked to the dining table.

She got some basic information on the way here: all seven members of the family were killed and no one survived.

The first person to discover that they were dead was a woman who happened to pass by. This woman worked in the county town. When she passed by here on her way home, she smelled a strong smell of blood. She was afraid that something had happened to the family, so she shouted a few times outside.

But after shouting for a long time, no one in the family answered, so she bravely pushed open the door.

But who would have thought that as soon as I opened the door, I would vaguely see people lying in the yard.

She was so frightened that she ran home and informed the village chief that night, asking them to go to the county town to report the case.

When the county magistrate heard that it was a family massacre, he was so frightened that he broke out in a cold sweat and hurriedly brought his men here in person.

By the time they arrived, it was almost dawn, and the group of onlookers finally mustered up the courage to look inside the yard.

Just one glance and these people, like the woman before, were terrified and ran home screaming.

Not only them, even the most experienced coroner in the county had a pale face and tried hard to suppress his nausea so as not to vomit.

It's too cruel, it's really too cruel.

The county magistrate had been in office for so long, but he had never seen corpses in such a state. An entire family had had their flesh and skin sucked dry, leaving only an empty skin hanging on the skeleton.

The main room and the yard were littered with dead bodies. In just one night, one could already see insects crawling out of their dry skins.

It is said that these skeletons are still preserved in the charity cemetery, and no one dares to touch them.

After Ye Xin walked around the yard, she combined the information she had obtained with her own guesses and had a preliminary understanding of the general situation.

The family was killed at dinner time. They had finished a day's work and were eating at the table.

While they were eating, the beam on the roof broke and a thick piece of wood fell directly onto the dining table.

A few men reacted quickly, dropping their bowls and chopsticks and jumping away. The remaining women and children were a little slower to react, and before they could escape, they were hit hard by the thick wood.

The huge log directly crushed the women and children underneath, and they were smashed to the ground, so the food was all over the floor.

The men who escaped wanted to call for help, but as soon as they ran into the yard, they were stabbed in the throat by the murderer who appeared out of nowhere.

The remaining women and children were crushed under the wood and some were injured and some died.

There was a woman who happened to be at the very edge, the one who was least injured. When she heard the noise, she struggled to crawl out of the main room and tried to find a place to hide.

But unfortunately, the murderer was determined not to let anyone go, and she was stabbed in the chest by the murderer, thus ending her life.

After the family died, the Fortune-Devouring Pearl appeared and absorbed their remaining flesh and blood, which is why the yard was filled with mummies.

The bloody handprints extending from the main hall seemed to confirm the despair of the people involved. They might not know that just a simple home-cooked meal would ruin everyone's life.

Ye Xin looked at the yard, and a golden light sprinkled from the palm of his hand. The golden light drove away the filth in the yard and wiped out the resentment left by the family.

"Don't worry! I will avenge you. Just go and reincarnate in peace!"
