"Help, help!"
Yang Xiaoxiao finally emerged from the water, and just as she shouted for help, she was pushed down by the rushing water.
"Gurgle gurgle~Gurgle gurgle~"
Yang Xiaoxiao didn't know how long she had been in the water. She was gradually losing strength, but no one passed by.
Her heart was filled with despair. Was she really going to die?
I finally escaped from that horrible place, but now I’m going to drown here?
She is unwilling, she is unwilling!
Yang Xiaoxiao emerged from the river again. Her strong desire to survive made her body burst out with strength, and at the critical moment she grabbed a piece of dead tree floating in the water.
She succeeded.
Yang Xiaoxiao, who was temporarily rescued, grabbed the dead tree with both hands and struggled to show her face outside.
The water continued to wash over her body. Her ears felt uncomfortable under the water, and her head felt swollen, as if she would fall in again at any time.
She didn't know where she would be washed to, nor did she know if she would survive. She only knew that she had to find the next thing to grab as soon as possible.
The dead tree couldn't hold on for long. Once it broke, she would be dead.
In a moment, Yang Xiaoxiao, who was dizzy, saw a piece of cloth floating in the sky. The cloth was very fast and appeared in front of her in the blink of an eye.
She looked at the figure above, and before she could call for help, the dead tree she was holding on to broke and she fainted completely.
The second before she fainted, Yang Xiaoxiao was still wondering whether she had survived and what this piece of cloth was.
..........
"Crackle~Crackle~"
Yang Xiaoxiao was awakened by the heat. She looked at the sky above her head and her eyes gradually became clear.
Did she die? Or was she saved?
Yang Xiaoxiao turned her head and came face to face with a pile of burning wood.
It was a fire! She shrank to the side, away from the fire.
It was so hot that she felt her face must be as hot as a monkey's butt.
"Are you awake?"
A pleasant voice came into Yang Xiaoxiao's ears. Her body trembled and she climbed up from where she was lying.
When she stood up, she found that her clothes had been changed. She was wearing a set of clothes whose fabric she couldn't tell. It was very comfortable and close-fitting.
After looking at her clothes, Yang Xiaoxiao turned her gaze towards the person across from the fire.
She breathed a sigh of relief only after she saw who it was.
Fortunately, it was a girl. If it was a young man, she would not want to hurt others and be forced to take responsibility.
"Miss, I don't know what your name is. My name is Yang Xiaoxiao. Did you save me?"
Ye Xin flipped the grilled fish off the fire and glanced at her. "My name is Ye Xin. Does your clothes fit you?"
Yang Xiaoxiao bent her legs and knelt in front of Ye Xin with a plop. "Thank you, benefactor, for saving my life."
As she spoke, she kowtowed three times towards Ye Xin.
"I have no way to repay your kindness now, I can only repay you in the future. I beg you to give me this opportunity."
Yang Xiaoxiao raised her head nervously. Her forehead was already red and swollen, which showed that she was not taking it lightly.
Ye Xin chuckled and picked up a bowl of ginger soup on the stone. "Take this and drink it to warm your body. We can talk about repaying you when you become rich in the future!"
Yang Xiaoxiao was delighted. She took the ginger soup and drank it all in one gulp, not caring that it was hot.
After she finished drinking the ginger soup, Ye Xin handed her the two grilled fish together.
Yang Xiaoxiao looked at the only two fish in her hands and couldn't help wondering, "Benefactor, aren't you going to eat them?"
"I'm not hungry, you eat!"
Ye Xin rubbed his wrists, picked up the scattered branches on the ground and stuffed them into the fire.
After getting a positive answer, Yang Xiaoxiao stopped asking questions. She tore off a small piece of fish with her hands and ate it in small bites.
She ate very slowly, with an elegant manner, chewing her food carefully. It was obvious that her family had a good tradition.
Ye Xin couldn't understand why such a young lady would appear in the wilderness and why she would fall into the water.
Also, why does she have the aura of a fallen demon?
Ye Xin's hand holding the branch turned slightly white. He had just destroyed the Fortune-Devouring Pearl, and now another fallen demon appeared. These two were working together, right?
What is the relationship between the two?
Employment? Indenture? Relatives?
Ye Xin felt that it was reasonable to say that they were relatives, after all, the two cubs were indeed quite ugly.
"Benefactor, benefactor."
"What's wrong?"
Ye Xin concealed the emotions in her eyes and looked at Yang Xiaoxiao who was anxiously standing beside her.
"My benefactor, I just wanted to ask you, do you know how to get to the nearest town?"
Yang Xiaoxiao mustered up a lot of courage to ask this question. She didn't want to run away just after eating the two grilled fish given by her benefactor, but time waits for no one, and she must find reinforcements as soon as possible.
Ye Xin slowly shook her head. "I'm sorry, I don't know where the nearest town is. You're the first person I've met."
Yang Xiaoxiao's face turned pale and she fell to the ground in despair. "It's over."
"What happened to you? Do you want to tell me? Maybe I can help you. Anyway, you owe me a favor, so I don't mind if you owe me a little more."
Ye Xin pretended not to notice Yang Xiaoxiao's loneliness and even had the mind to make a joke.
Yang Xiaoxiao grabbed a handful of weeds from the ground, tears streaming down her cheeks. "My benefactor, it's useless. Even the most skilled guards in my family couldn't defeat those things, not to mention you're a weak woman like me. I can't watch you walk into the fire pit."
She was immersed in sorrow and didn't notice the flying carpet parked behind Ye Xin at all.
Ye Xin turned around and glanced at the flying carpet, "I'm a weak woman?"
