"Girl, I see you've been looking around here for quite some time. Is there anything you like? Do you want me to tell you about it?"
A vendor selling calligraphy and paintings looked at Ye Xin unkindly. The man had been standing at his stall for a long time, not saying a word or saying what he wanted, and just kept rummaging through things.
The calligraphy and paintings on his stall were very expensive. If he hadn't seen that the man was clean, he would have sent him away long ago.
He has been looking at it for so long but still doesn’t buy it. Could it be that he can’t afford it?
"I'm just looking around."
Without even raising his head, Ye Xin glanced past the landscape painting in front of him and walked to a picture of a lady with a flower in her hair.
She kept her head down and didn't notice that the vendor's eyes had changed from unfriendly at first to impatient later.
Finally, when Ye Xin still hadn't decided what to buy, the vendor spoke impatiently: "Hey, young lady, if you really don't want to buy anything, just go to the side and don't block my business."
Ye Xin paused, then looked up at the vendor with a half-smile, "Uncle, did I say I don't want to buy it? I just haven't decided which one to buy yet."
The vendor rolled his eyes, disgust evident on his face. "Don't brag! You've been looking at it for so long and haven't bought anything yet. I'm afraid you can't afford it! You're dressed so gorgeously, I thought you were a daughter of a wealthy family, but it turns out you're just a vain woman."
"Do you know what's in this painting? If you can't understand, get out of the way and don't block my way."
The vendor took out a duster and waved it around Ye Xin, "Go away, go away, don't block my business."
Ye Xin: “????”
No, this person is sick!
When did she become unable to afford a painting that cost only a few dozen coins? Wasn't this person's words too harsh?
Ye Xin supported her waist with both hands, her face instantly cold. "Uncle selling calligraphy and paintings, I just took a second look. Do you have to say such harsh words?"
The vendor sneered and threw the duster in front of Ye Xin. "This is my stall. What's wrong with me speaking so harshly? If you don't want to listen, then go to the bookstore across the street. There you can enjoy it to your heart's content. But..."
He looked at Ye Xin with a hint of amusement, "A bookstore is a very solemn place. A vain woman like you, please don't defile the books inside after you go in."
The vendor had no idea that these words completely ignited the anger of the woman in front of him. She went from being slightly angry just now to being completely furious now.
Ye Xin was so angry that she almost laughed. She thought that the vendor said that because he thought she couldn't afford the calligraphy and paintings, but she didn't expect that the vendor would dare to think that way about her.
"Bang!"
Ye Xin slammed the table onto the vendor, the heavy wooden table pinning him to the ground. "I'm giving you face, right? What are you bragging about? The book taught you to treat people with courtesy, and this is how you treat people with courtesy?"
"A tattered piece of calligraphy and painting can be sold for ten taels of silver. You really think you are a piece of cake!"
When the vendor heard Ye Xin's insulting words, a stream of blood suddenly spurted out of his throat, "You, you actually dared to hit me."
Ye Xin picked up the duster at her feet, broke it with one hand, and threw it at the vendor's face. "I'm going to hit you if I want to. Do you really need to choose a good day?"
“Bang!”
Two red bloodstains appeared on the vendor's face, and his pockmarked face suddenly swelled up. "Little bitch, don't you dare tell me who your father is? I'll let your father beat you to death."
The incident here soon caused quite a stir. A person who was familiar with the vendor saw him being beaten and turned around and ran towards the yamen.
"Beat me to death? Believe it or not, I will beat you to death right now."
Ye Xin pulled out a soft sword from her waist and lifted the vendor's chin with the tip of the sword. "If you say one more word, I guarantee you'll lose your tongue."
"You, you, you, please talk nicely if you have something to say!"
The vendor looked at the sword blade so close to him, and his previous arrogance changed and his tone softened.
Not only did Ye Xin not speak nicely, but he also slapped the vendor in the face with a sword, and even made things worse by cutting a gash on his face.
"Now you know how to talk nicely, so why didn't you just shut up?"
The vendor leaned back, slightly away from the soft sword, and said, "Girl, if you don't want to buy it, then don't buy it. I won't say anything, okay?"
"Tsk! I've been talking for so long and you still haven't understood the point. Now you're asking whether I should buy it or not? You've already pissed me off. What I want to buy is your life."
Ye Xin uttered these words softly, petrifying the vendor.
It was not until the sword blade penetrated into his flesh again that he widened his eyes in horror, supported himself on the ground and shrank back.
"Lady...Lady, can I call you Lady? This is my fault. I kowtow to you and apologize. I have parents and children to support. I cannot die. They all depend on me to support their families!"
He fell to the ground with tears and snot all over his face, looking pitiful, and the people around him looked at him with pity.
An old man couldn't hold it in any longer. He walked over to Ye Xin and tried to persuade her, "Miss, you've let out your anger, hit someone, and he knows he was wrong. Why don't you just let it go?"
"Yes, that's right! He's already in such a miserable state, girl, you should show some mercy!"
"That's right, the stall was overturned, and all the calligraphy and paintings were destroyed. The vendor will definitely not be able to open the stall for a few days."
A group of onlookers surrounded Ye Xin and the vendors. They appeared to be trying to comfort Ye Xin, but in reality they were openly and covertly accusing her of going too far.
Ye Xin's face became increasingly gloomy. She gripped the sword tightly and chopped at the shelf next to her that had not yet fallen.
