Chapter 6 Coffin Shop

After taking a shower, Lin Yan carried her dirty clothes to the bathroom. When she opened the dormitory door, she saw Li Menglin standing at the door holding a computer.

"What are you doing?" Lin Xi was startled.

"My computer really fell down just now." As if afraid that Lin Nan would not believe it, Li Menglin pointed to a mark on the corner of the computer and said, "Look, this is where it got knocked."

"Oh." Lin Yu walked past Li Menglin and continued to the bathroom without much interest. I had already reminded her, but she didn't take it seriously, so it was not her fault.

Li Menglin followed behind, limping.

Lin Xi looked at her in surprise.

"I accidentally hit my foot." Li Menglin explained.

Lin Xi uttered "oh" again without saying anything else. She walked into the bathroom, threw all the dirty clothes she had accumulated over the past few days into the washing machine, inserted a coin, and started the washing machine.

"How did you know my computer would fall?" Li Menglin asked as she chased after Lin Yan.

"I saw it." Lin Xi said.

"How did you see it? I looked at the computer when you reminded me. The computer was perfectly fine on the computer desk at the time. There was nothing wrong with it. The reason it fell was because I accidentally bumped it with my arm when I stood up. You had already returned to your dormitory at that time, so it was impossible for you to see this scene. Unless you can see the future." Li Menglin stared at Lin Nan closely.

Lin Yan looked at Li Menglin in shock: "Why do you think so?"

Most normal people would think it is a coincidence.

"That's how it's played out in anime. If the protagonist survives a disaster, he or she will gain super powers." Li Menglin said firmly, looking at Lin Xi with some expectation in her eyes.

"You're right, I did get special abilities." For a veteran anime fan like Li Menglin, who has not yet gotten over her middle school years, blindly denying it would only lead to endless entanglement. So, Lin admitted it frankly.

"Really! I guessed right! You have gained the ability to foresee the future." Li Menglin's face flushed with excitement and her whole body trembled.

“NO, NO, NO…” Lin Yan stretched out a finger and shook it slowly, “What I gained is the ability to curse.”

Li Menglin's excited expression instantly turned into surprise.

"Think about it, did I just say that your computer would fall, and then your computer fell? This is a curse. Stay away from me in the future, or you'll be careful that I curse you." Lin Xi smiled "sinisterly".

Li Menglin's face turned pale. Without saying anything more, she turned around and left with her notebook in her arms. She was so fast.

"Do you believe it?" Lin Xi stuck out her tongue and went back to the dormitory in a good mood.

After drying her clothes, Lin went to the cafeteria to have lunch and happened to meet her counselor, Teacher Qi. Teacher Qi was surprised to see Lin: "You are discharged from the hospital? I said I would visit you this afternoon."

"The doctor said I'm fine, so I'm leaving the hospital." Lin thanked him, "I heard from the nurse that my teacher went there on the day I had the accident. Sorry to bother you."

"This is what we should do. The most important thing is that you are okay. By the way, has the driver been found?" Teacher Qi asked.

"I don't know. The police station didn't contact me, so I guess not." Lin Xi shook her head.

"People like this should be arrested and put in jail for life." Teacher Qi said viciously, and then asked, "By the way, have you found a job?"

"Not yet." As the only person in the class who has not found a job, Lin Xi felt a little guilty.

"Ah? Yes, really? It's okay, just take your time to look, you will definitely find it. Well, teacher has something else to do, so I'll leave first." Teacher Qi turned around and left. His hurried back revealed his embarrassed heart.

After lunch, Lin went out to work part-time, still at the cake shop. Because of the last car accident, Lin now has a psychological shadow when crossing the road. Even if the light is green, she has to look back and forth several times before she dares to cross the road.

The place where Lin Nan worked part-time was called Panda Cake Shop. The manager was a handsome uncle in his thirties. When he saw Lin Nan coming, he first asked about her health, and then arranged some easy work for her. He asked her to just stay in the store to cashier and she didn't have to do any delivery work.

Lin worked in the cake shop until five o'clock, then ended her part-time job. When she left, the store manager gave her a few small cakes: "We made a lot of these today, so we probably won't be able to sell them all. You can have some."

"Thank you, Manager." Lin took it happily. She liked working here because she could eat some of the fresh cakes that the store couldn't sell out.

"Xiao Ping, have you found a job?" The store manager also knew that Lin Ping had been unable to find a job.

Lin shook her head.

"Then do you want to work here?" the store manager asked with a smile.

"Don't we have enough staff in the store?" Lin Xi worked a part-time job, three days a week, four hours each time, and only came when it was busy.

"Mina is going home to get married and will resign next month. If you come, I won't hire anyone." The store manager said, "Don't worry about the salary. Although this is a small store, the business is pretty good. The salary is not lower than your job as an accountant."

Lin thought about it and shook her head to refuse: "Thank you for your kindness, but I still want to do something related to my profession."

Lin studied financial management. She didn’t really like this major. It was just that when she was filling out her college application form, no one gave her a reference. She didn’t know anything either, so she just randomly picked a major that she liked. It wasn’t until she entered college that she realized what she was studying.

Although she didn't really like being an accountant, and the salary of an accountant who had just graduated was not very high, and even in the future it would not be very high, but at least there was still a little room for development. If she became a clerk in a cake shop, she would only be a clerk.

"Okay, then I hope you can find a job soon." The manager did not force it.

"Yeah." Lin Xin was full of confidence. She felt that her career luck had improved. After all, she hadn't even received an interview call before. Now she could reject the offer.

After leaving the cake shop, Lin did not go back to school, but took a bus to another part-time job. Because there were no classes at school this semester and Lin did not find a job, she found a few more part-time jobs.

The place she was going to now was a very popular escape room, on the other side of the school. Lin was working as an NPC there. This job was very new and was considered a popular type of job in the part-time job industry. Even many college students would rather work as NPCs there without any pay. They were very eager to do it. Lin would never work there without money, so she didn't have many opportunities to work part-time here. The store manager would only call her when there was a serious shortage of people.

This is also a sign of her career improving, Lin Xi thought.

"Auntie Lin, you're here." The store manager was a young man in his early twenties named Tang Mingxu, only a few years older than Aunie Lin. He was a nice guy, but a little effeminate. Tang Mingxu waved at Aunie Lin.

"Boss, what kind of book are you opening this time?" Lin Xian walked over quickly.

"Oh, you dyed your hair?" Tang Mingxu saw the blue wig on Lin Xi's head at a glance.

"No, it's a wig." Lin Yu subconsciously covered the gauze on her head, afraid that the store manager would notice that she was bald.

"It's quite interesting. This time we're opening a coffin shop instance, and we're still short of someone lying in a coffin. You know the plot, right? After the guests solve the puzzle, they open the coffin, and you stand up and scare them. It's quite simple." Tang Mingxu gave a simple introduction.

"Isn't this Brother Xiang's job?" This link belongs to a relatively important horror scene in the coffin copy, and all the workers used are regular workers.

"Your brother Xiang was too dedicated in the last copy, so he can't receive customers at this time." Tang Mingxu said politely.

"Being beaten?" Lin Yan understood immediately. Players complete puzzles in a dark and terrifying environment. When you are most nervous, you jump out of the coffin to scare people. It is not surprising that players do something under stress. In addition, Brother Xiang is a naughty person. In order to increase the horror, he sometimes deliberately gets close to the player.

"Yeah." Tang Mingxu looked helpless.

"Is the injury serious?" Lin asked.

"It's not serious. He is mainly traumatized."

"Then if you let me go, what if I get beaten too?" Lin Xi asked.

"You are a girl, the player will show mercy. When the player opens the coffin and sees a female ghost..." Tang Mingxu paused, feeling that something was wrong.

"It will only be more terrifying." Lin Xi affirmed.

"Don't just think about the bad things, think about the good things. Our NPC makes a lot of money, you know our rules here." Tang Mingxu casually took a secret room commitment letter from the front desk, pointed to a line of clauses on it and read, "If you beat up the NPC, 200 for one punch and 500 for one kick. Just now, your brother Xiang made a full 3,000."

"Is he still alive?" Lin Xi couldn't help but ask.

"Look at what you said. Can a customer really kill you?" Tang Mingxu rolled his eyes at Lin Xi. "Didn't you just post on your Moments saying that your phone was broken? I let you come here because I was taking care of you. You're lucky. You earned it all in one copy."

How much do you want me to be beaten? Lin Yan squinted at him.

"Don't worry about safety. I'm watching here." Tang Mingxu assured, pointing to the surveillance camera at the front desk.

"Okay." Lin Yan finally couldn't resist the temptation of money, not because she really wanted to earn a cell phone by getting beaten, but because the NPC itself was paid well. With just this one step, at most half an hour, she could easily get 100.

As for getting beaten, she was not too worried. Brother Xiang had been working here for half a year and had only been beaten a few times. She couldn't be that unlucky.

Wait, luck? Lin Yu thought of her luck value of -99.

"Then hurry in. There is a master among this group of players. He can solve the puzzle very quickly. It will be your turn soon." Tang Mingxu pushed Lin Xi inside and urged the makeup artist to change her clothes.

The makeup artist held a white dress in her left hand and a red cotton shirt in her right hand: "Little girl, do you like the female ghost in white or the fierce ghost in red?"

"I...I don't like any of them." Lin Xi already felt a little regretful.

"You look so bad, just wear red." The makeup artist made a decision, helped Lin Xi change her clothes as quickly as possible, and pushed her into the secret room.

Open the coffin, let Lin Xian lie in it, then lock the coffin again with a dozen chains, waiting for the player to unlock it.

Until she lay in the coffin, Lin Xi didn't react at all.

"System...system?" Lin Xi shouted with a trembling voice.

"Here." System.

"Will I be beaten later?" Ask yourself this first so you can be mentally prepared.

"I don't know. The system cannot take over the fate of the host." said the system.

Can't do bone-digging? Just like a doctor can't treat himself, a bone-digging person can't do bone-digging for himself?

But... actually there's no need to calculate. With her luck value of -99, is it possible for her to be lucky enough?

Lin Xi immediately decided that she would rush out as soon as the coffin was opened and try to surrender before the other party could make a move.
