"Honey, it's not that I don't want to give it to her, I really don't have any. But her brother should have some. How about this, you call him and have him bring it over!"
As they were talking, Gao Yan dialed Li Chaonan's cell phone number and put the phone to Li Yingnan's ear.
"Brother, I've overdone my training and I'm almost exhausted. Could you bring me a cup of medicinal wine to Master's place?"
"Oh dear, what happened?"
"He didn't say anything even though the call went through, Brother Yan, really!"
"Hey! Hey, Yan-ge, is there no signal on your end?"
"Then I'll hang up!"
Gao Yan deliberately turned on speakerphone, so he and Zheng Xiaoyu heard every word Li Chaonan said.
"Li Chaonan, I'm your sister, are you really going to just stand by and watch me die?"
Li Yingnan was furious. Was this really her brother? It was just a cup of medicinal wine, and he was pretending there was no signal.
"Brother Yan, say something! I'm hanging up if you don't!"
Li Chaonan is still pretending to be stupid.
Li Yingnan was furious, but before she could even lash out, Li Chaonan had already hung up the phone.
"How about we call your dad again?"
Gao Yan suggested.
"Stop hitting Master!"
Li Yingnan said dejectedly, "My dad treats that wine like a treasure, afraid that my brother will take it away. He's locked it in a safe. How could he possibly give it to me!"
Then, with tears in her eyes, she looked at Gao Yan and said, "Master, I really know I was wrong. Please forgive me just this once?"
"This is a one-time exception!"
Seeing that things had gone far enough, Gao Yan said, "If there's a next time, I'll make you lie in bed for three days and three nights!"
"Thank you, Master. I promise I won't do it again!"
Li Yingnan was truly terrified. This master looked young, but he was a cunning old fox.
A short while later.
Gao Yan brought over half a cup of medicinal wine and had Zheng Xiaoyu feed it to Li Yingnan.
A few minutes later.
Li Yingnan got up from the sofa and ran upstairs to take a shower.
