"Brother-in-law, who pursued whom, you or my sister?" Chen Youling asked curiously.
To be precise, I'm not your brother-in-law yet!
Gao Yan laughed.
"But it doesn't matter, I reckon it'll be soon!" Chen Youling said dismissively.
"Why?"
"If my sister didn't have feelings for you, she definitely wouldn't have let you take her home, let alone let her stay overnight!" Chen Youling said with a grin.
"You know your sister pretty well!" Gao Yan joked.
"That's right!"
Chen Youling said with a hint of pride, "Although my sister is quiet and reserved, I understand her thoughts perfectly!"
Just then.
Footsteps came from outside, and Chen Youling quickly stopped talking. Then Chen Youwei walked in.
"Brother Yan, the room is all ready. You can go and rest after you wash your feet!"
"Thanks for your hard work!"
"It doesn't matter!"
After wiping his feet with the towel Chen Youling handed him, Gao Yan followed Chen Youwei into the bedroom.
Besides an old-fashioned wooden bed, there was also a worn-out wooden table in the bedroom, making it seem somewhat empty. However, there was no musty smell in the room, indicating that someone tidied it up regularly.
Immediately afterward, Chen Youling came in with a burning mosquito coil: "Brother-in-law, there are a lot of mosquitoes in the countryside, so I'm putting out a mosquito coil for you!"
"Lingling is so thoughtful!"
Gao Yan smiled at her.
After the two sisters left, Gao Yan closed the door and went to sleep.
