Cao Ya wasn't afraid and even had the composure to think things through, while the others felt their scalps tingle.
"Damn it! Everyone grab your weapons, don't go down there! What's that thing lurking in the snow?" Ye Cheng shouted.
"Don't yell, you fucking keep your voice down, do you want to wake it up??" The fat man also saw what was below, took a snowflake from the side of him, made a ball, and threw it at the back of Ye Cheng's head, cursing softly.
Cao Ya also came down and examined it carefully. Following the claw, he saw a black thing, about the thickness of a bucket, coiled up in the snow. Its segmented body was covered with scales, some hidden in the snow and some exposed. At first glance, it looked like a hibernating snake, but upon closer inspection, it looked like a centipede.
The thing was clinging to the rock, motionless. It was unclear whether it was dead or alive; its head and tail were not visible, nor was its length known.
Pan Zi insisted on coming down, but Ye Cheng and the monk kept calling out to him, which infuriated the fat man.
"Stop yelling, it's fake, just a sculpture." Cao Ya placed his palm on the head of the stone sculpture, curled his lip, and said, "The King of Dongxia has terrible taste, this thing is really ugly."
Cao Ya's actions startled everyone, and they only breathed a sigh of relief when the thing really stopped moving.
"Damn it, it's good that it's fake. It scared me to death. I thought a centipede or snake had suddenly appeared out of nowhere." The fat man visibly breathed a sigh of relief.
Wu Xie laughed and scolded, "Fatty, you ignorant fool, a snake is a snake, and a centipede is a centipede. Where did this centipede-snake thing come from?"
"Hey, naive comrade, what do you think this is?" the fat man said with a laugh.
Wu Xie looked at it carefully and had to admit that what Fatty said made a lot of sense.
What the hell is this thing? It's neither a snake nor a centipede.
With a dazed look in his eyes, Chen Pi Asi, who was almost fainting, saw the stone sculpture. His expression changed visibly. He was unsteady on his feet and called to Monk Hua for support. He wanted to walk to the front of the stone sculpture and reach out to touch it.
Cao Ya focused his mind and sensed it.
At this moment, the fat man spoke up with a disdainful tone: "Is this a dragon or something? Cao Ya is right, it's really ugly, and it looks sinister."
Monk Hua said, "Don't talk nonsense if you don't understand. This is a centipede dragon, not a coiled dragon. Early dragon carvings in the Eastern Xia Kingdom all looked like this. In earlier times, ancient dragons had very different shapes. Some dragons even had pig noses. This is not surprising."
Cao Ya chuckled.
Monk Hua was a little angry: "You have a different opinion?"
“If this thing is a dragon, then I am its ancestor.” Cao Ya patted the stone carving and suddenly exerted force. With a loud bang, the coiled centipede stone carving broke apart, and the upper half of the dragon head rolled out, kicking up some snowflakes.
The others stared in disbelief, their expressions one of utter disbelief.
"Damn, that thing weighs at least several tons... Cao Ya, you weren't this strong before, did you take drugs?" The fat man was very surprised.
I used to go tomb raiding with Cao Ya. Cao Ya was very good, but still within an acceptable range. But this time, damn it, he's completely inhuman!
Even the usually indifferent Silent One couldn't help but glance at Cao Ya frequently.
"Awesome!"
Wu Xie and Pan Zi exchanged a glance and simultaneously gave each other a thumbs up.
Chen Pi Asi and his companions were somewhat stunned, as if they hadn't expected that such a person existed in the world. They looked at Cao Ya as if they were looking at an alien.
Shunzi was a little dizzy and slow to react, so he didn't react much.
"Hey, can you smell something?" Wu Xie suddenly twitched his nose.
"It's coming from inside." Cao Ya pointed to a crevice in the mountain. He pushed the coiled stone dragon down halfway, revealing a cave behind it, just big enough for a person to pass through. Looking at the edge of the cave entrance, it was like the rock layers were torn apart, with no trace of artificial excavation. The smell of sulfur was coming from inside.
Everyone perked up; the hot spring Shunzi mentioned must be inside this place.
The fat man turned on his flashlight, reached inside to take a look, and then turned around and said, "It's very warm inside, but the angle is quite uncomfortable, so I can't see much. Also, there seem to be words on the stone walls inside."
"What did it say?" Wu Xie asked hurriedly.
The fat man squinted and looked at it carefully, then shook his head and said, "I don't understand it. Damn it, I don't know what it says."
As he spoke, he tried to crouch down and squeeze in, but the fat man was indeed too fat, and the hole was obviously not suitable for him. He tried several times, but he just couldn't squeeze in.
He was about to take off his coat and crawl inside when Cao Ya stopped him.
"Don't waste your energy, get out of the way." Cao Ya took the lead, supporting himself on the rock wall as he walked in. Stone dust fell down as he went, and all everyone could see was that the crevice had widened.
The fat man walked further in, and now he could move freely.
"Damn it, Cao Ya, what kind of martial arts are you practicing? You have internal energy, huh?" the fat man shouted. This scene made it impossible for everyone not to have some thoughts.
Everyone looked horrified and muttered a curse under their breath.
What normal person could create such a passage?
The rest of the people followed and squeezed into the crevice.
Originally, Chen Pi Asi wanted to arrange for a helper to stay outside so that he could take care of things if anything happened, but Ye Cheng said that Cao Ya was so awesome, why was he afraid of something going wrong?
Chen Pi Asi thought it made sense, so he and the rest of them went inside.
This is a rock fissure that split open during a landslide. Once inside, you'll find that the fissure runs steeply downwards. It's very dark inside and looks extremely deep, probably leading to the interior of the mountain.
Because Cao Ya was leading the way, and as they walked, stone dust kept falling, the passage was visibly widened.
The others followed in amazement, suddenly realizing that, putting everything else aside, meeting such an impressive figure as Cao Ya made the trip worthwhile.
"This is probably what a peerless master in a martial arts novel looks like," Wu Xie exclaimed.
He felt that this trip to Changbai Mountain was more special than his trips to Qixing Lu Palace, the Xisha Undersea Tomb, and the Qinling Sacred Tree.
If Cao Ya had accompanied us the previous times, would we have been afraid of those strange things in the tombs?
"Damn it, Fatty, you knew such a master, why didn't you say so earlier?" Wu Xie couldn't help but complain.
The fat guy was also frustrated. If he had known Cao Ya was so awesome now, he would have definitely invited him to come along.
It wasn't this powerful before.
Because of Cao Ya's performance, the group didn't feel too tense, and Fatty and Wu Xie even had time to chat and joke around.
"I have martial arts skills. Fatty, Wu Xie, if you want to learn, I can teach you," Cao Ya laughed.
Practicing martial arts is not a simple matter; those who cannot endure loneliness and lack aptitude will find it difficult to achieve anything.
He also relied on himself from other worlds.
Fatty and Wu Xie had obviously thought of this. They both said that they weren't cut out for this. They practiced martial arts all day but couldn't do anything else. They might as well kill them.
But in the end, he still said that after leaving Changbai Mountain, he would teach them some simple moves that would be enough to deal with seven or eight people.
"Holy crap, this is considered easy?" Ye Cheng, Chen Pi Asi's partner, complained. This is practically expert level, isn't it?
Looking at Cao Ya with astonishment, she thought, "Does martial arts really exist in this world?!"
