The waiter on the right hesitated for a moment, then said:
"Cao Ya, you've probably made a mistake."
“Oh, I’d like to hear more.” Cao Ya raised an eyebrow.
"The best of the late-stage God-level beings, along with the supreme beings who are the trump cards of our human race, are capable of creating a world," the attendant on the right said in a deep voice.
"And then?" Cao Ya asked.
"What??" The waiter on the right was confused.
In his mind, once this fact was stated, all of Cao Ya's unrealistic ideas would be dispelled, so why was he still asking?
"Besides those powerful beings, can ordinary gods create worlds? Obviously, they can't," Cao Ya said calmly. "Furthermore, even the best late-stage gods, even supreme beings—even though I've never seen a supreme being, I can roughly deduce that the worlds created by supreme beings need to depend on the universe for their existence, right?"
“Of course.” The waiter on the right chuckled. He was joking; whose world could exist outside the universe? Not even the God of Light and Darkness!
"The universe nurtures all living beings. How can one survive outside the universe? Your question is hardly a question," the attendant on the left said calmly.
"Who told you that?" Cao Ya asked back.
"???" The waiter on the left.
"Who told you that you can't survive outside the universe?" Cao Ya repeated.
“It’s a fact known to everyone,” the waiter on the left replied, his tone somewhat impatient.
Chatting with Cao Ya like this, going on and on about this and that, is a complete waste of time. You'd be better off practicing and figuring out the essence of martial arts.
"Does something being widely known necessarily mean it's true?"
Cao Ya sneered, and without keeping them in suspense, went straight to the point:
"A true universe must exist independently within chaos; otherwise, how can it be called an independent universe or an independent world?"
"My path is similar to yours, but not quite. We both comprehend rules and laws, but for me, it is to delve into the mysteries of the complete universe, to help my world's prototype evolve step by step, and finally reach the level of a prototype universe, or even a flawless universe."
"Even outside of this universe, it can still exist within chaos."
"Without this, how can we talk about creating the universe or the world?"
Finally, Cao Ya coldly retorted, his eyes deep and calm, but this caused a huge uproar in the square in front of the temple.
"Impossible! The universe is supreme; who could have created it?"
Everyone shook their heads, not believing Cao Ya's words at all.
Creating a world is something one can listen to and believe, but creating a universe... even the God of Light and Darkness cannot do it!
Humans can do that? Don't be ridiculous!
"Cao Ya, stop talking nonsense." Someone sneered.
"That's right, you're spouting nonsense here and disrupting our cultivation. Could it be that you're a demon spy? Did you ascend here just to harm our human race?" someone shouted, harboring malicious intent and trying to smear us.
Cao Ya swept his gaze across the man, his divine power surging, and the man's heart trembled with fear, instantly collapsing to the ground.
The temple attendant coughed and interjected:
"The temple belongs to the human race. You must not speak such slanderous words. Cao Ya, don't lose your temper."
Finally, he also gave Cao Ya a warning.
The Temple of Humanity, high above all, has ruled the human world for billions of years; its majesty cannot be questioned.
Cao Ya sneered. If he remembered correctly, the interior of the temple was very complex, with various forces vying for power.
He was too lazy to get involved with the temple, but if someone slandered him, Cao Ya wouldn't be polite. He had already shown mercy by not killing the person on the spot.
"If you don't believe me, fine. My path... one day, time will prove that my path is the most correct path! The path that humanity should take!" Cao Ya said coldly, unwilling to waste his breath trying to persuade these guys.
Facts speak louder than words. Once he produces results, people will have no choice but to believe him, even if they don't want to.
The crowd looked at Cao Ya with pity—and a small number of them with schadenfreude—thinking that this prodigy who had ascended to immortality was probably already ruined.
They've gone down the wrong path and still don't know how to correct it... How pathetic!
Everyone looked disappointed, and then they left one by one.
The two temple attendants also flew back to the temple gate, sat down cross-legged, and remained motionless, like two statues.
Deep within the temple, in a cave whose exact location is unknown, the place is dark and gloomy. Any senses, perceptions, or divine consciousness are rendered useless and ineffective here.
An extremely old man sat cross-legged deep in the cave, his long, pale hair trailing down to his feet. It slid down the three-tiered stone steps covered in green moss and spread across a large area of the ground, looking at first glance like a patch of white moss blooming in the darkness.
The old man's face was covered with deep wrinkles, and layers of loose, overlapping skin were covered with grime.
The drooping upper eyelids were loose and droopy, almost completely obscuring the old man's eyes, leaving only a narrow slit. Only when they occasionally opened and closed, and a fleeting glimpse of light appeared inside, did one realize that there was still a pair of eyes there.
The old man was draped in a loose, nearly tattered robe, washed white and corroded in many places due to the passage of time. Beneath the tattered robe, a sparse, bony skeleton was revealed.
Beneath the old man's knees, where he sat cross-legged, a pair of rusty chains passed through his ankles and eventually disappeared into the rock walls on either side.
Three feet above the old man's head to his left, on a protruding stone platform about the size of a palm, an ancient ever-burning lamp burned quietly. Its dim light could only illuminate a few feet around the old man, and under that dim light, the old man's long white hair appeared even more pale, making him seem like an unrecognizable living person.
"What a pity..."
The old man suddenly sighed, a hint of disappointment flashing in his eyes. His wrinkled lips moved as if with great effort.
When Feng Yun Wuji successfully cultivated the "Nine Revolutions of Life and Death Profound Technique" and caused a great commotion, the old man was awakened. He looked around and discovered Cao Ya's presence. When he learned that Cao Ya was a newly ascended being who had just broken through the barrier, the old man also placed high hopes on him.
Similarly, the old man was also disappointed after hearing Cao Ya's words.
"If there were no laws of balance, if there were no God of Light and Darkness... there are too many 'ifs'..."
"Cao Ya, who could cultivate to the late stage of godhood in the lower realm, if he could change his mindset, perhaps he could become a supreme being, not much less likely than the Blood Sea Demon Lord from billions of years ago. Alas..."
The old man sighed, his voice filled with bitterness.
He opened his eyes and looked at Cao Ya in the square outside, and Feng Yun Wuji beside him. If he could cultivate the "Nine Revolutions of Life and Death Profound Technique", then the other ascendant was also worth paying attention to.
Suddenly, the old man exclaimed in surprise.
Because in his line of sight, Cao Ya frowned, looked in his direction, and looked suspicious, seemingly uncertain, yet also somewhat aware.
"Such keen perception..."
The old man was amazed, but even more regretful.
On the plaza outside the temple, Cao Ya observed suspiciously. He felt that someone was spying on him in the dark, but he had no evidence and could not find any trace of that person.
Am I being paranoid? No, that's not right. The Temple's power is unfathomable. Perhaps... some powerful figure from the Temple is secretly watching... Regardless, I'm not capable of interfering with the Temple right now... As a sacred place for humanity, the Temple is unfathomable, and who knows how many ancient monsters lurk within...
Cao Ya no longer felt like she was being secretly watched, and turned to look at Feng Yun Wuji.
“Cao Ya, I think what you said makes sense.” Feng Yun Wuji said seriously as he faced Cao Ya’s scrutiny.
