On the last stretch of the journey, Chang Guiheng did not provide Luo Chen with any news about the layout of the capital, but instead asked Luo Chen to have a good rest.
But they didn't rest for long, and Qingyan Liuyunhe had already brought them both to their destination.
The capital city was generous and allocated an office building as a place of business for this newly established department, whose success was uncertain.
And it is located relatively close to the center of Beijing.
The building was very new and looked to have more than ten floors. Luo Chen's mental power swept over it slightly and saw that it was made of steel with some special metal materials mixed in.
I believe that such a building should be able to withstand the full force of a wild-level beast. This is why the building is built so low. After all, such materials are very expensive.
Seeing Luo Chen looking at the building, Chang Guiheng explained, "I heard that this building was built by Third Uncle-Master who sent several Wilderness-level Beastmasters."
Mechanical beast tamers are quite good at building structures. Even in peacetime, Third Brother's mechanical beast tamers would probably still be very popular.
After taking a quick look at the building, which was entirely covered with special glass, Luo Chen and the others walked towards the entrance gate.
But before he could enter the building, he was stopped by security personnel on the first floor.
"Sir, you need to make an appointment in advance to enter here."
Luo Chen looked at Chang Guiheng, his eyes clearly asking, "Have you made an appointment?"
Chang Guiheng took out his terminal with a little embarrassment, then selected a contact and called.
Two seconds later, the terminal was connected.
"Huo Qiyuan, we've been stopped downstairs, come and pick us up."
Because Chang Guiheng opened an outer room, Luoyang and the security personnel heard a lazy sound coming from inside.
"Oh, our Young Master Chang finally came. Who was that blind person who stopped you?"
The security guard's expression changed slightly, and his face became respectful. "I don't know if you are Mr. Huo's friend, please come in."
Luo Chen frowned slightly at the sarcastic way of speaking of the man named Huo Qiyuan. He didn't like it very much.
But it was also because of this person that they successfully entered. Luo Chen pursed his lips and finally said nothing.
"Young Master Chang, come in and go straight to the conference room on the 16th floor. The meeting is about to start. Without you, we really can't do it."
"Shut up." Chang Guiheng hung up his terminal neatly.
The young man on the other end of the phone looked at the terminal in his hand that was hung up, with a faint smile on his face.
"The show is about to begin."
Then he straightened his well-tailored clothes, opened the door of his private office and walked out.
…
Five minutes later, Luo Chen and Chang Guiheng were guided by the receptionist to the large conference room on the 16th floor.
The heavy metal door of the conference room was opened from the inside out by two waiters.
The noisy sound in the conference room suddenly stopped, as if the sudden sound of the door opening had paused.
More than a dozen pairs of eyes looked at Luo Chen and Chang Guiheng at the same time, looking at them with inquiring eyes, as if evaluating their origins.
But after searching my memory for a long time, I didn't get any useful information. The faces of these two people seemed a little unfamiliar.
Even Huo Qiyuan, who was sitting closer to the center of the long table, had a look of bewilderment in his eyes. Wasn't it said that the person coming up was Chang Guiheng?
Who are these two relatively unfamiliar young men outside the door?
A middle-aged man sitting in the first seat below the chairman spoke softly,
"Who are you?"
The people in this conference room did not recognize Chang Guiheng's current appearance, but Chang Guiheng was quite familiar with the people in the conference room, so he knew what attitude was most appropriate towards them.
He chuckled and swaggered into the meeting room. "All the eight great families in the capital are here. This disaster prevention department is really a hot commodity."
Faced with Chang Guiheng's arrogant behavior, everyone from the eight major families, including the middle-aged man in the chairman's position, frowned slightly.
However, the man who had spoken earlier continued, "Could it be that you two are the ones arranged by Elder Zhuang...the ones who haven't arrived yet?"
Chang Guiheng looked around the conference room and found that there were only two empty seats at the end of the conference table.
He walked over to the middle-aged man who questioned him and Luo Chen's origins, "Meng Xiaochen, right?"
When Chang Guiheng revealed his name, Meng Xiaochen did not show any surprise. After all, he was active in an upper-class family in the capital, so it was not surprising that he was recognized by others.
So he nodded somewhat arrogantly, but Chang Guiheng's next words made his face turn pale.
"Get up, this seat is not suitable for you."
For a moment, some of the other people in the conference room who observed this scene had amused expressions, while others were watching closely, fearing that the war would be brought to them.
"What did you say?" Meng Xiaochen almost squeezed out these words from between his teeth.
"Even if you were sent by Zhuang Guolao, you can't insult me like this."
Terrifying power gathered around him, and his long hair danced in the wind, as if he was about to teach the boy in front of him who had spoken rudely to him a lesson.
But Chang Guiheng was not at all flustered. He spread out his palms and pretended to be innocent, "I seem to have forgotten to introduce myself.
My name is Chang Guiheng, and I'm from Cunyou Mountain. You may have heard of me before. I don't need to introduce myself to the rest of you.
