Chapter 20 Framed

Chapter 20 Framed

After lunch, Luming quietly slipped away again.

This time their mission is to get a car.

Although there were already several cars in Luming Space, they were all sedans, and it was very inconvenient for them as there were so many people.

The parking lots in N Dali are mainly concentrated in the campus and family quarters.

The campus has an area in front of the teaching building, and the family area is the underground parking lot.

They didn't plan to go underground because there were too many zombies in the residential building. If they were alarmed, the students here would be trapped in the gymnasium.

The two of them skated carefully around the campus, trying not to get close to the zombies.

The September sun was still quite strong, the heat steamed the floor, and the rotting flesh and blood fermented into a strong stench. You could often see piles of white maggots wriggling on the broken corpses, which made people's scalp tingle at a glance.

Because I had a destination yesterday, I walked very fast along the way and didn’t have the mood to look around. But today, I need to look around and keep my eyes open.

Lu Ming had goose bumps all the way. She hardly dared to look at the ground. She could only try to look straight ahead or float up into the sky.

Gu Chao inadvertently caught a glimpse of the little girl rubbing her arms, and a smile flashed in his eyes.

He tilted his head to look. The sunlight gilded her skin, and the mottled shadows of the trees on the road swayed across her face. Her fair skin was delicate and smooth, and even the tiny hairs that stood up were visible. She frowned, her eyes darting from side to side, her lips tightly pursed, her face a pale hue, and she was clearly uncomfortable.

He couldn't help but imagine what such a little girl looked like before the end of the world.

Wearing exquisite dresses, strolling around the beautiful campus, eating and shopping with friends, and maybe going out on a date on the weekend.

In short, she and he are two completely different types of people.

If it weren't for the end of the world, they would never have met.

After turning the corner of a building, she suddenly seemed to trip over some obstacle and fell forward to the ground.

"Ah!" she screamed and stretched out her hands to grab something.

Gu Chao was startled, "Be careful!"

He grabbed her arm and turned around to stand in front of her, holding her waist with his left hand to stop her from moving forward.

Lu Ming bumped into Gu Chao's arms, feeling like he had hit a wall. His nose hurt and a few tears flowed from the corners of his eyes.

She grabbed Gu Chao's collar with one hand to steady herself, and couldn't help but cover her nose with the other hand.

"Oh, it hurts. Are you made of iron? Why are you so hard?" She complained in a muffled voice.

Gu Chao pulled her hand away and saw blood on her palm.

Luming: “…”

Gu Chao: “…”

"Let me see," he frowned and checked carefully, and found that there was just some bleeding and no bone injury.

Lu Ming's head was lifted up and he had no choice but to look at Gu Chao.

His handsome sword-like eyebrows were slightly frowned, and there was a hint of worry in his cold star-like eyes. He stared at her without blinking. From her angle, she could clearly see his knife-like jaw, and she was fascinated for a moment.

Gu Chao raised his eyes and was about to tell her that everything was fine, but he saw her staring at him without blinking. He was stunned for a moment, then realized that the distance between them was too close, and one of his hands was even around her waist.

He quickly let go of his hand and took a step back. Lu Ming also came to his senses, and a hint of embarrassment appeared on both of their faces in perfect sync.

Lu Ming adjusted quickly. She looked down at her roller skates and found that the wheel was stuck by a bone. The soles of the shoes were covered with blood and filth. She couldn't help but feel disgusted.

"Let's walk. This road is so slippery."

Gu Chao naturally agreed.

The two took off their shoes, and Lu Ming took out two pairs of light boots.

Not long after they walked, Lu Ming suddenly patted him and said, "I saw one, go check it out."

Gu Chao looked in the direction of her finger and saw a black SUV parked in front of the dormitory building with the front door wide open.

"Walk."

The two men gripped their weapons tightly and approached cautiously. The zombies upstairs smelled the smell and became excited, roaring and banging on the windows.

They checked around the car body and found nothing unusual.

Lu Ming came to the driver's seat first, "The key is still there! Let me see if I can start it." She turned the key and heard the engine start.

"Great, the tank is still full."

But no one would complain about having too much gas, so they parked their cars and prepared to go and collect some more gas.

------------

By the time we got back to the gym, it was already past dinner time.

The two separated, and Lu Ming quietly slipped back.

As soon as I opened the door, a terrible smell hit me, not much better than outside.

Lu Ming put on a mask, walked around the crowd and came to Group 37.

Yan Wei and Qiao Sisi were not at home, and she didn't know anyone, so she had to take out her hat and put it on her face, preparing to rest for a while.

At this moment, she heard a loud shout from a corner: "You are not from the logistics department, why are you here for no reason?! It's you! Thief!"

The other one cried, "I really didn't take it. Where can I hide such a big box?"

Hey, that’s Qiao Sisi’s voice.

Lu Ming was surprised because this was not in the original story.

She came over quietly and squeezed in to watch.

Qiao Sisi's eyes were red, and she bit her lips tightly, pretending to be strong. She looked at the girl opposite who was pulling her arm with grievance, which made the girl in the blue jacket and jeans look even more fierce and aggressive.

They kept arguing over one issue: Blue Jacket claimed to have seen Qiao Sisi steal a box of cookies, but Qiao Sisi argued that she hadn't done it and asked Blue Jacket to produce evidence. Unfortunately, Blue Jacket couldn't prove it.

Gu Chao and Cheng Ming were both startled. They walked in from outside the crowd, and just like Moses parting the sea, the crowd automatically made way for them.

When Qiao Sisi saw them, a hint of panic flashed in her eyes.

Cheng Ming narrowed his eyes slightly, "Mr. Qiao, what are you doing here so late?"

This is where supplies are stored, managed by a team of students who are specifically responsible for logistics, and Qiao Sisi is obviously not among them.

She stammered for a long time and couldn't say anything, tears streaming down her face.

The whispers around them grew louder, all discussing the goddess's disillusionment.

Lu Ming realized that Qiao Sisi had been a top-tier beauty before the apocalypse. She looked around and spotted Yan Wei in the crowd on the other side. His eyes were a bit strange, but they didn't show any sign of heartache.

Lu Ming breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing this.

Qiao Sisi looked up to say something when she saw Lu Ming, who was watching the show across from her. Although she was wearing a mask, without the cover of her hat, her eyebrows and eyes were completely exposed, and Qiao Sisi recognized her at a glance. Lu Ming saw the realization in her eyes, and then his surprise, joy and calculation changed for a while.

Lu Ming became alert. Qiao Sisi actually knew the original owner? And it didn't seem like a good thing.

Qiao Sisi raised her hand and pointed at Lu Ming, saying loudly, "It's her! Lu Ming asked me to come over and get the things."
