Chapter 215 Finale (Part 1)

Chapter 215 Finale (Part 1)

The moment his figure disappeared, the whole world returned to normal.

From Gu Chao's perspective, the last moment, he felt the zombies appear behind them both, then he protected Lu Ming, but after hearing Lu Ming say goodbye, she fell to the ground the next second.

He had no idea what had happened in the blink of an eye.

"Lulu!" His pupils constricted and he called her in disbelief.

However, the man on the ground was silent and did not respond at all.

Gu Chao's mind went blank in an instant and he stood there in a daze.

"Little Deer!"

On the other side, Cheng Ming first locked onto the figure of the zombie, turned around quickly, and saw this scene.

At that moment, two words emerged in his mind.

It's over.

Sure enough, the zombie looked at Gu Chao and attacked him!

However, Gu Chao had no sense of being in imminent danger. Instead of defending himself, he half-knelt down and held Lu Ming's hand.

"Boss!"

"team leader!"

The other team members were furious and rushed over while shouting!

-------------

"Consciousness successfully received, transmission begins..."

"Transfer complete, starting..."

"Startup completed."

With a buzzing sound, a pale blue light slowly lit up on the heart of a young girl in the specially designed transmission chamber. After a moment, her eyelashes trembled a few times and she slowly opened her eyes.

What caught her eye was the blue sky and white clouds. She stared at the top of her head for a while, then tilted her head in confusion.

A handsome young man in a tuxedo leaned over and smiled at her, "Welcome back."

Then he held out his hand to her, motioning her to stand.

The person in the transport cabin blinked, tentatively raised his right hand, grabbed him, and sat up with the help of his strength.

However, she suddenly felt dizzy and she quickly held onto the wall of the warehouse, took a deep breath, and relaxed for a moment before returning to normal.

Then she stepped out of the transport cabin, stood on the ground, and observed the surrounding environment.

The blue sky and white clouds above her head suddenly turned silver. She looked up and realized that it was the ceiling above her, not the sky.

And she was in an empty room. There was nothing in the room except the oval-shaped transmission cabin she had just walked out of.

She frowned, looked at the boy next to her, opened her mouth, and asked tentatively, "Who are you?"

"I'm Lan." The boy replied with a smile.

She thought for a moment and then asked, "Then, who am I?"

The boy didn't answer, but said, "In the early stages of consciousness transmission, memories will be temporarily suppressed. It's normal not to be able to remember them now. It will be fine after a while."

The girl only understood half of the sentence, then nodded, "Oh." and followed Lan out.

When she reached the door of the room, she saw a silver corridor outside. As she walked out, a gentle white light lit up on the wall.

The two walked to the end of the corridor, and the door in front of them opened upwards with a "swish", and Lan walked in first.

The girl didn't understand why and followed him. The moment she stepped through the door, some images suddenly flashed through her mind, and she felt that she had walked through a door like this before.

She frowned slightly, having a feeling that these might be her suppressed memories.

Unable to figure out what was going on, she looked up and saw Lan standing not far away, looking back and waiting for her. She put all these images behind her and quickly followed him.

As she walked forward, she asked, "Where are we going?"

"There's a small handover ceremony that you need to complete. We're heading to the main control room."

"Handover? Handover of what?"

Lan turned to look at her and smiled, "Me."

ah?

What's the meaning?

Handing over a living person?

The girl was a little surprised and asked again: "Handover, you? So I have to support you in the future?"

Lan laughed out loud and shook her head: "No, well... you could say I'll help you raise others in the future."

Ah?

She is becoming more and more confused.

"It doesn't matter if you don't understand now, you will understand later."

Oh, okay.

The two continued walking forward, turning into several corridors and entering several doors, and finally came to a very large room.

"Wow, it's so big."

It’s at least over a thousand square meters, about the same size as the granary I visited before.

Hey, what granary?

Another image flashed through her mind, and this time she saw some blurry faces.

Who are these people?

Still unable to remember, she put it behind her mind and concentrated on studying the hall.

In the center of the hall is a huge transparent screen with some different images on it. It looks like a surveillance camera?

Opposite the screen are some independent workstations, each with some instruments and seats.

There are four benches in the center with a conference table in the middle.

On the far left are some different styles of uniforms on display, and on the far right are large black cabinets with wires plugged in, surrounding many transparent screens.

The girl didn't understand anything. She turned around a few times and asked Lan, "So we're handing over here?"

"Yes. Please stand here and we will conduct identity verification first."

"oh."

The girl walked over and stood a few meters in front of the huge screen, looking at it.

However, there was nothing on the screen.

A few seconds later, a female voice sounded, "Scanning completed, identity confirmed, handover can begin."

Lan said, "Pause the handover."

"OK."

He turned back to look at the girl and asked her, "Do you remember?"

She shook her head. "I can only see some images flash by occasionally."

Lan nodded and said, "It seems that the memory suppression effect is cumulative due to too many transmissions in a short period of time. Don't worry, let me give you a little hint."

After saying that, he walked over, approached the girl, took her hand, and then extended his right index finger.

Then the girl was surprised to see that the outer skin of his index finger was actually cut open, and a thin and long plug was pushed out and stabbed towards her right wrist.

Hiss, you’re not going to stab her, are you?

She was frowning and waiting for the pain to come, but what happened next surprised her even more. She saw a small piece of skin on her right wrist rise up with a "click" and then push upwards, revealing a small interface inside.

What was exposed under the skin was not flesh and bones as she thought, but silver machinery.

The girl stared at her "hand" in amazement, a thought echoing wildly in her mind -

So, what is she?

The plug in Lan's hand just lightly touched the connector on the girl's wrist, and then took it back. The girl was wondering and was about to speak when she suddenly felt a current running through her brain, and then countless images flashed before her eyes.

After a moment, she closed her eyes, staring at Lan for a moment, then suddenly exclaimed, "L181? Aren't you the customer service representative?"
