Chapter 13 Ridiculous

Su Qian looked at Shang Tian with some surprise and asked, "You want it?"

Shang Tian waved his hands repeatedly and said, "No."

This is Ah Qian's precious treasure, how could he possibly think of it!

Aunt Zhang pushed her mentally challenged son away, grabbed Su Qian's hand, and asked, "Qian, can this be given to someone else?" But before Su Qian could answer, as if afraid that Su Qian would misunderstand, she continued in a very fast voice, "Even if it can, you can only say no, understand?"

Su Qian nodded obediently, then looked at Shang Tian and asked, "Do you really want it? I can give it to you."

Farming is the most tiring thing.

If someone could help her farm, she'd be happy just eating fruit. (▽▽)

Aunt Zhang: "..." Did she just talk for nothing?

Seeing Su Qian's "say you want it" look, Shang Tian couldn't help but shudder. Was A Qian going to beat him up again?

Seeing that Shang Tian remained silent for a long time, Aunt Zhang's sharp eyes swept over him, "What, do you really want it?"

Hearing his mother's sarcastic words, Shang Tian shuddered and quickly explained, "No, I was just curious."

"What are you curious about?" Aunt Zhang gritted her teeth in anger upon hearing her foolish son's words.

Seeing that the two were about to start arguing, Su Qian quickly tugged at Aunt Zhang's sleeve and asked with a smile, "Auntie, I bought a thousand taels of rice, where should I put it?"

Aunt Zhang was slightly taken aback and asked in confusion, "A-Qian, why are you buying so much?"

A thousand taels of rice would be at least a hundred shi (a unit of dry measure), right?

Their family can only afford to eat ten or a hundred bushels a year, and they can probably save some for their grandson.

“Eat,” Su Qian said matter-of-factly.

"But there's so much, we can't possibly eat it all."

Su Qian nodded, "Then we can open a small restaurant."

Opening a small restaurant in the apocalypse would definitely earn you crystal cores.

This is much safer than going out to kill zombies every day.

Aunt Zhang thought about it and agreed that it was a good idea, so she asked, "What should we sell?"

Without thinking, Su Qian replied, "Rice porridge."

Aunt Zhang couldn't help but laugh and tap her forehead, jokingly calling her a silly girl before saying, "What restaurant only sells rice porridge?"

"Our home!"

Su Xin stood in the rain, listening to the intermittent laughter from inside the house, and felt a chill in her heart.

What should she do?

Father has disappeared, and the villagers refuse to help them.

She returned home somewhat bewildered, walked to Chen Wen's bedside, and looking at the person lying on the bed barely alive, she couldn't help but burst into tears, "Mother, how could they be so cruel?"

Chen Wen patted her head and said, "Don't cry...don't cry, it's all retribution."

"Mother!" Su Xin stood up angrily. "What nonsense are you talking about? Those things were clearly Father's idea!"

Chen Wen shook her head, took Su Xin's hand, and said, "I know you care about me, but now I have to go..." She paused, then added, "There's just one thing you must remember..."

Su Xin nodded quickly and said, "My daughter understands."

Chen Wen wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes with relief and said, "That's good, that's good."

Su Xin held her increasingly cold hand, and hatred slowly fermented in her heart. Since they were heartless, then she couldn't be blamed for being unjust!

Her mother did nothing wrong, so why did she end up like this?

They were the ones who forced her into this situation, but now they're blaming it all on her mother. It's truly laughable...
