That night, under a dark and windy sky, Shang Tian secretly slipped out of Shangjia Village. The zombies, sensing human presence, swarmed towards him.
Shang Tian summoned lightning and tried his best to kill the zombies, but they seemed endless. By dawn, he had only managed to kill his way out ten kilometers, still ninety kilometers away from the nearest mountain stronghold.
The zombies were endless, but his physical strength was limited. Shang Tian had no choice but to go home and lie there like a corpse.
Late at night, he went out again, trekking fifteen kilometers before returning.
Night after night, it wasn't until half a month later that he finally arrived at Yunshan Village. But by then, Yunshan Village was bustling with people.
"I don't know which idiot helped us kill the zombies."
"Yes, if it weren't for him, we don't know when we would have been able to leave the city."
"There are no zombies left in the city, so why are we even out here?"
The group exchanged glances, then lowered their heads to drink the hot water in their bowls. Leaving the city offered a chance of survival, but the prefect had no intention of letting them live if they didn't.
Stupid Shang Tian: "......" So, did he take the blame for someone else?
"What are you afraid of? We've already left the city. Are we still going to listen to that prefect?"
"But... we can't stay away from home forever."
Their home is still in the city!
"well."
Hearing the sighs from inside, Shang Tian slowly walked in. He looked at everyone and asked bluntly, "Then why don't you rebel?"
Jizhou belongs to them, not to the prefect alone.
"How easy is that?" An old man stood up, looking shakily at Shang Tian, and said, "The prefect has three thousand soldiers under his command. How can we possibly defeat them?"
Some of their wives and daughters are still in the city.
If he wasn't outmatched, how could he have watched his wife and daughters suffer such humiliation?
If you're alive, there's still a way out; but if you're dead, then you truly have nothing left.
"I can't take it anymore, I can't take it anymore!" The burly man stood up and looked at Shang Tian. "Brother, do you have any brilliant ideas?"
Shang Tian nodded, then spread his palm, a thin bolt of lightning dancing across it. "Does this count?"
He stood tall and straight, and his presence commanded respect.
"Can......"
The group was still somewhat hesitant. They didn't know who Shang Tian was, and whether they could get enough to eat if they followed him.
Shang Tian chuckled, "I am Shang Tian from Shangjia Village."
"Shang Tian? Is that the Shang family with the city walls?"
"Exactly."
"Then we..." The man swallowed hard and asked, "Can we go in?"
Shang Tian chuckled, looked at them, and asked, "If there were food and city walls here, would you still want to go in?"
If these things were available outside, who would want to leave their familiar place?
The man thought for a moment, then cautiously asked, "What do you want to do?"
There's no such thing as a free lunch.
Shang Tian smiled and said, "I killed the zombies." Killing them would have been an easy task for him.
An old man stepped forward, bowed to Shang Tian, and said, "I am Wu Weisheng, and I wish to become your disciple."
Shang Tian nodded and asked, "What are your strengths?"
"I have some knowledge of general affairs." Shang Tian nodded and said, "Come back to the village with me first."
"Yes." Wu Weisheng bowed respectfully again and stood behind Shang Tian in silence.
Shang Tian stood there quietly for a quarter of an hour, but no one else came forward. He sneered, "From now on, I will take extra care of the zombies in this area."
They survived thanks to his help, yet they showed no gratitude whatsoever. These people are better off without.
It's just that this knock-off is not worth the trouble.
