"Sigh! Graduation really does mean unemployment!" Liu Xiaoyuan stood under a big tree on the sidewalk, dodging the fireball in the sky, glanced at the endless stream of cars on the road, and then at the resume in his hand, and couldn't help but sigh.
Liu Xiaoyuan, male, 22 years old, 1.75 meters tall, handsome, with angular features and dark, deep eyes that are particularly attractive to the opposite sex.
He wore a white shirt tucked into black trousers and a pair of black dragonfly leather shoes that Liu Xiaoyuan had reluctantly spent several hundred yuan to buy. He looked quite like a corporate executive.
Her once fair skin had turned a wheatish tan from days of searching for work under the scorching sun. Of course, the areas covered by her clothes remained fair and delicate, creating a striking contrast with her wheatish complexion.
Liu Xiaoyuan's hometown is in the countryside. His family is relatively poor. His parents are farmers who live on their small plot of land and don't earn much income throughout the year.
Fortunately, Liu Xiaoyuan's father, Liu Haimin, is in relatively good health. During the off-season, he works as a laborer on construction sites with the village's small contractors to supplement the family income.
Children from poor families learn to be independent early, and Liu Xiaoyuan is no exception. When he was young, his parents and sister were working in the fields and there was no one to cook, so Liu Xiaoyuan learned to cook from his grandmother.
As for washing dishes, sweeping the floor, feeding pigs, and herding cattle, Liu Xiaoyuan knew all of these things.
Liu Xiaoyuan had good grades and even received awards when he was in elementary school. However, in junior high and high school, he encountered too many academic high achievers, and his grades could only be considered average to above average.
When Liu Xiaoyuan took the college entrance examination, he was admitted to a second-tier university. To support Liu Xiaoyuan's schooling, his parents lived frugally. His older sister, who had dropped out of junior high school to work, sent her wages back every month. This was how they managed to raise the money for Liu Xiaoyuan's schooling.
Liu Xiaoyuan secretly vowed to make something of himself and give his parents and sister a better life.
However, ideals are like fairies in dreams, while reality is like the old ladies guarding the girls' dormitory.
It's been almost half a month since graduation, and Liu Xiaoyuan goes out every day to look for a job and submit resumes, but all of them seem to disappear into thin air.
Or they'll just reject you outright, saying the company doesn't want inexperienced employees. Seriously, isn't that ridiculous? Nobody's born knowing how to walk or call out "Mom" and "Dad."
Although that's what he thought, Liu Xiaoyuan didn't dare say it aloud, and could only walk out of the other person's company dejectedly.
Another reason is that I don't want to do the job I interview for, firstly because the salary is too low, and secondly because I can't see any career prospects.
In this predicament of being neither here nor there, Liu Xiaoyuan worked for half a month without any results.
Today, Liu Xiaoyuan had just finished a job interview at a company, only to be mercilessly criticized by the company's manager, who said, "College graduates like you are everywhere these days. You want such a high salary? You have no work experience and you're arrogant. Who would dare to hire you?"
Liu Xiaoyuan immediately stood up from his chair, extended his right hand to the interviewer, and said, "Please give me back my resume. It costs 50 cents to photocopy it, don't waste my 50 cents!"
The interviewer had never seen such an arrogant college student before and was completely astonished.
While the interviewer looked on in astonishment, Liu Xiaoyuan took his resume and walked out of the company with a flourish.
He was carefree, but he wasted the whole morning.
"Damn it, why is it so hard to find a job? I might as well take my girlfriend home and go farm. At least we won't starve!" Liu Xiaoyuan thought dejectedly, leaning against a big tree.
Liu Xiaoyuan's girlfriend is named Zhang Rongrong, and she is in the same grade as Liu Xiaoyuan. Zhang Rongrong is considered one of the most beautiful girls in the school, and she had quite a few suitors back then.
Liu Xiaoyuan went to great lengths, even putting on a brave face, to finally win Zhang Rongrong's heart.
Although Liu Xiaoyuan had been dating Zhang Rongrong for over a year, they had only held hands and kissed. As for going to a hotel outside the school to have sex, Liu Xiaoyuan had not done that yet.
Although this has always been Liu Xiaoyuan's dream, Zhang Rongrong unfortunately doesn't give him the opportunity to realize it. So, to this day, Liu Xiaoyuan is still a novice.
"Ring ring..."
Just then, Liu Xiaoyuan's phone rang. He took it out of his pocket and saw that it was his girlfriend, Zhang Rongrong, calling.
Liu Xiaoyuan thought to himself, "Could this be what they call telepathy? I was just thinking about taking Zhang Rongrong back to my hometown to farm when she called."
Liu Xiaoyuan knew a little about Zhang Rongrong's family background. He knew that although Zhang Rongrong's family was not wealthy, it was still much better than Liu Xiaoyuan's family.
If you were to actually take Zhang Rongrong home to farm, don't even think about it; Zhang Rongrong would definitely not agree.
During their courtship, Liu Xiaoyuan discovered that although Zhang Rongrong wasn't a rich girl, she had all the typical spoiled traits. She insisted on buying expensive clothes and cosmetics, and would ask Liu Xiaoyuan for money whenever she was short of cash.
Liu Xiaoyuan would rather eat steamed buns and instant noodles himself than not save money for Zhang Rongrong.
Sometimes, Liu Xiaoyuan thought about ending the relationship, but then he remembered that Zhang Rongrong was one of the most beautiful girls in the school, and that he was already doing well in his past life to win her over.
So he continued the relationship, thinking that Zhang Rongrong would change after he graduated, got married, and had children.
"Hey, Rongrong, did you miss me?" Liu Xiaoyuan asked with a smile.
Zhang Rongrong's voice came from the other end of the phone: "Liu Xiaoyuan, let's break up!"
