Chapter 95 Uninvited Guests

Fan Zhiyi couldn't remember how long ago he had told Bing Nandong about this, so he nodded and said, "I used to have a golden retriever. Oh, I forgot, you probably don't know what it is. It's one of those really big, really fluffy dogs."

Fan Zhiyi gestured as he spoke, stretching his arms out, then looked at Bing Nandong, Xiao Hei and the cat looking at him with some confusion, and couldn't help but smile.

He smiled but then his mouth drooped: "But I didn't take good care of it. It got into a car accident. Car accidents are..."

"I know." Bing Nandong's gentle voice interrupted Fan Zhiyi, preventing the tough guys at the scene from crying.

Although Fan Zhiyi still felt a sore nose when he mentioned this incident, he was able to say these words in a more or less calm tone. He blamed himself, regretted, and hated himself at the time. That period was too dark, and Fan Zhiyi's mind was still in a mess when he remembered it now.

He had no family, no true friends, and even his only relative was taken away. Fan Zhiyi had no one to cry to or vent his anger to, so naturally there was no one to comfort him. He didn't know how he got through that period.

There was a slight pressure on his head. Fan Zhiyi looked up and saw Bing Nandong holding Xiao Hei in one hand. He looked down at him and said seriously, "It's all over. We will take good care of Xiao Hei."

Bing Nandong gently rubbed Fan Zhiyi's hair with his palm and then took it back, without making anyone feel uncomfortable.

Fan Zhiyi was still staring at him in a daze, so Bing Nandong lifted Xiao Hei high up in the air and said, "Xiao Hei, your other name is Nanshan. Remember that."

"Meow."

"It's really smart." Bing Nandong smiled and handed Xiao Hei to Fan Zhiyi, "Hold it, it seems a little heavier."

"Kittens grow up very fast." Fan Zhiyi knew that Bing Nandong was comforting him, and his heart warmed up, and even the awkward feeling seemed to disappear.

So he took the kitten in his arms and smoothed its fur: "How about some clay pot rice for lunch?"

"What?"

"You'll know when I make it."

Speaking of food, Fan Zhiyi perked up and immediately rushed to the kitchen, muttering, "But there's no sausage. It's missing its essence. Forget it, let's make a simple version."

"Fan Zhiyi." Bing Nandong suddenly called him.

Fan Zhiyi was almost running to the door. He turned around, looked at him, blinked, and said silently, "What's the matter?"

Bing Nandong unconsciously placed his hand on the window frame and looked straight at him: "No matter what you want to say, you can tell me. If you don't understand something, you can explain it to me slowly if you want. I want to know."

Fan Zhiyi's Adam's apple moved, and his heart seemed to be poked softly. He suddenly had an indescribable impulse.

Here it comes again, the same feeling, even though we only said a few words.

Facing the boy's serious gaze, Fan Zhiyi pretended to be normal: "Okay." Then he ran away. Before he had time to catch his breath and calm down in the kitchen, Bing Nandong also followed him to the kitchen.

Fan Zhiyi felt like he was becoming allergic to Bing Nandong, and immediately asked in surprise, "Why are you here too?"

"Come and see what you said... clay pot rice." Bing Nandong pronounced the three words clearly, "It's just right, I want to cook something today too." I also want to cook something for you.

"Hmm?" Fan Zhiyi was curious and put Xiao Hei down to let him play on his own. "What are you going to do?"

“You’ll know when you make it.”

Fan Zhiyi was itching to try this kind of suspenseful behavior. Although he had just said so, seeing Bing Nandong skillfully rolling up his sleeves and starting to prepare, Fan Zhiyi was unwilling to fall behind.

The two of them were doing their own things, and Fan Zhiyi would glance at Bing Nandong from time to time to see what he was doing.

By the time Fan Zhiyi and Bing Nandong were steaming, there was a knock on the door of their courtyard.

Since it was already steaming, there was no need to worry about it, so Fan Zhiyi followed Bing Nandong to open the door.

Surprisingly, the person outside the door was the young man in purple whom he had seen during the last competition, and the ones knocking on the door were the strong men who had been following him.

The purple-robed young man still had bruises on his face, but he still looked incredibly charming. As soon as they met, he limped over with a familiar air: "Smells so good! What are you cooking?"

As he spoke, his eyes flickered towards Bing Nandong, who had a cold expression on his face. He didn't really want to see him and was about to close the door. However, the man quickly reached out and blocked the door, shouting, "It hurts, it hurts!"

Fan Zhiyi saw that the door didn't press the man's arm at all. It was obvious that the man was trying to scam people.

Bing Nandong finally looked at him: "Any results?"

"Hmm." Lin Taiyin shrugged playfully, leaning against the door as if he had no bones. "How else could we get out? One after another, all the sects will return."

"What was the result?"

Lin Taiyin moved closer: "I don't know. It's not my place to know anyway." His eyes pointed meaningfully. He glanced at the people behind him, then turned and stared at Bing Nandong.

His eyes were sticky and he looked at everyone as if he was looking at someone he was deeply in love with.

Bing Nandong opened the door and Lin Taiyin almost fell to the ground.

Bing Nandong moved closer to Fan Zhiyi and said, "If you can't speak properly, then don't speak."

Lin Taiyin glanced at them both and said, "It seems the rumors are not true after all. You two have a really good relationship."

Fan Zhiyi's nerves immediately tensed up again. Lin Taiyin's eyes were naked, as if he had stripped him naked, and seemed to see into his secret thoughts that he himself had not figured out.

When it came to Fan Zhiyi, Bing Nandong stepped forward and said in a bad tone, "What do you want to say?"

"Okay, okay. The main reason I came here this time is that I want to thank Senior Brother Bing for saving my life before I leave. Otherwise, Taiyin would have died in the competition long ago." After saying this, Lin Taiyin bowed with his hands and spoke sincerely.

Bing Nandong, on the other hand, remained calm: "It's just a piece of cake."

"Also, before I left, I accidentally broke a vase in the room. I apologize to Senior Brother Bing here. That vase looks quite expensive. If you need compensation, you can tell me. But I broke it before I left, so I probably haven't had time to clean it up yet."

Fan Zhiyi felt that he was not going to understand again. Why did the topic suddenly jump to the broken vase? What exactly did Lin Taiyin want to say?

"It's just a vase, nothing more."

"Well then, I'll take my leave then." This wasn't the end of the conversation. Lin Taiyin silently mouthed a few more words, then curled his lips into a smile. "Brother Bing, if there's a chance, I'd really like to get to know you."

Bing Nandong smiled, a smile that seemed very polite, and did not respond to his words: "I cannot bear the title of Senior Brother. Master Lin is brave and resourceful, and he should use his wisdom in the right way. Also, don't involve people who shouldn't be involved."
