Chu Changning was startled. She looked up and saw the man standing against the light at the doorway.
He wore a gilded black robe, his eyes were devoid of warmth, and the noble air emanating from his bones carried a hint of ruthlessness.
The rain poured down relentlessly, and a cold, sharp light flashed across the horizon, striking his back as if it had been cleaved open.
With a crash, the porcelain bowl fell to the ground.
Startled, Chu Changning frantically searched for a way out.
Yan Beimo saw her lower her eyes and remain silent as she slowly walked inside.
The raindrops outside slanted in along the tiles and eaves.
The old doctor and the boy glanced at the soldiers guarding outside and, frightened, quickly hid under the counter behind them.
Why aren't you saying anything?
He raised his hand and pinched her chin, his cold, slender white knuckles protruding, his face, which usually looked quite gentle, tense.
Chu Changning pinched the soft flesh on the inside of her body hard, her eyes reddening.
She deliberately slapped his hand away and looked away.
Yan Beimo knew she was always good at pretending, and sneered.
"What are you pretending for? You dare to secretly drink the abortion soup, do you not want this child?"
Chu Changning felt uneasy under his gaze, and goosebumps rose all over her back.
She avoided his gaze, stood up, and took the initiative.
“Your Majesty said that you would not let me bear your child. Now that I am pregnant, I am afraid that you will be in a difficult position. Of course, I must be sensible and take the initiative to terminate the pregnancy.”
The old doctor and the child, hidden at the bottom of the cabinet, exchanged a glance, "---"
Liar! Where's the widow you promised?
Yan Beimo was furious when he heard her distorted and untrue words.
He grabbed her by the neck, veins bulging, his usually gentle face now filled with ruthlessness.
"I've spoiled you too much, which has allowed you to become so audacious."
Chu Changning was caught off guard by his sudden attack, and a suffocating pain shot through her slender, fair neck.
She instinctively bent her leg to attack, but he grabbed it with one hand, almost breaking it.
An angry, bizarre pain spread through his limbs and bones.
Yan Beimo leaned forward, his eyes revealing an undisguised bloodthirsty killing intent.
"Did I ever say that if you don't behave, I'll really kill you?"
How dare she secretly make a move? What does she take him for?!
Startled by his gaze, Chu Changning felt a chill run down his spine, and his face turned deathly pale.
She tried to push him with difficulty, but he threw her against the pillar behind her.
A sharp pain shot through her body, and she collapsed to the ground with a thud.
The atmosphere inside the room was tense and fraught with danger.
The doctor, fearing something might happen to the baby in her womb, quickly stepped forward.
"My lord, spare me! My lord, spare me! This woman is pregnant and can't withstand this kind of torment!"
Before he could finish speaking, he was kicked right in the chest.
The old doctor rolled on the ground, and the little boy trembled with fear, rushing out to help him.
Yan Beimo looked down at Chu Changning, who was lying on the ground, his voice chillingly cold.
"Since you don't want it, I'll grant your wish."
Chu Changning, unaware of his meaning, weakly propped herself up to look at him.
"Someone come here."
A guard came in from outside.
Yan Beimo casually fiddled with the ring on his finger, glancing at her sideways.
"I've heard that in the marketplace, when playing a game, you can twist the pieces with a stick until they bleed and then the pieces fall."
Chu Changning knew he was ruthless, but she never knew he was so vicious. Her pale face instantly lost all color.
The guard understood and approached with a thinned stick in his hand.
Yan Beimo then asked, "By the way, besides this, is there any other way?"
A cool gaze fell upon him.
The old doctor trembled as he knelt on the ground, unsure of what to say.
Those who are strangled to death with sticks like this often die along with their unborn child. Even if they survive, they may never have children.
"Um?"
A cold knife was suddenly pressed against his neck.
The old doctor was taken aback and hurriedly said, "Oral administration of mercury, strychnine, and other highly toxic substances."
Yan Beimo gave an "oh," glanced at the pale-faced Chu Changning out of the corner of his eye, and said in a low voice.
"Is there any more?"
The old doctor swallowed hard. "There are also external aids, such as massage or acupuncture."
Yan Beimo raised an eyebrow, slowly approached her, and lowered his head.
Did you hear that?
Chu Changning knew he was doing it on purpose, so she looked away.
Yan Beimo's eyes darkened slightly as he half-squatted down to look at her.
"Since you dislike him so much, how about I have the doctor perform a cesarean section to remove the child?"
Mentally ill, insane lunatic.
She said coldly, "My lord, there's no need to scare me. I've already said that I only did this because I knew the Yan family wouldn't accept it, and I didn't want to put you in a difficult position. If you don't believe me, you can kill me or torture me as you please."
"So much backbone?" Yan Beimo sneered, using his knife to lift her chin. "You're afraid of the Yan family? Where did your usual tantrums and tantrums go?"
Chu Changning pursed her lips and remained silent.
Yan Beimo's eyes grew increasingly somber. He grunted, brushed off any nonexistent dust from his robe, and stood up.
He didn't say anything, but looked around the small clinic.
The rain was pattering down outside, and his footsteps sounded like they were pounding on her heart, one after another, making her tremble wildly.
Chu Changning knew he wouldn't let her off easily, but she didn't know what he was thinking, and a bad feeling welled up in her mind.
Suddenly, he sat down on a stool to the side and glanced at Night Hawk with his cold eyes.
Night Hawk understood, drew his knife, picked up the old doctor, and stomped him on the ground.
"To drug the lady without permission is a capital offense."
The old doctor was terrified and frantically shook his head, "I don't know, I have no idea!"
The child quickly kowtowed, "We don't know anything, please spare us, sir, please spare us--"
Night Hawk remained expressionless as he swiftly thrust his knife down.
At the critical moment, Chu Changning, dragging his weary body, stood up, kicked the knife out of Ye Ying's hand, and blocked the two of them.
Her hands, hidden in her sleeves, clenched tightly. She glanced sideways at the unmoved man, forcing herself to soften her expression.
"It has nothing to do with them, don't hurt innocent people."
"Anyone who knows but fails to report will be sentenced to death." Yan Beimo chuckled casually, meeting her gaze. "You can barely protect yourself, yet you plead for others?"
Chu Changning's anger roared inside her, but she forced herself to suppress it.
She slowly walked towards him and reached out to tug at his robe.
Yan Beimo shook him off, his expression cold.
Chu Changning cursed him in her heart, thinking how rare it was to find such a difficult and petty man.
She reached out and grabbed his hand again, hooking her little finger with his.
Yan Beimo looked at her coldly, his expression filled with malicious mockery.
Will this trick work every time?
Chu Changning feigned weakness, "You said before that you didn't want it, but I was afraid you'd force me to give up, so—"
He interrupted me before I could finish speaking.
"I told you to go back to Chaoge to raise the child if you got pregnant, did you remember that?"
Yan Beimo stared straight at her, a violent and insane killing intent surging within him, his handsome face dark and unfathomable.
Chu Changning knew he wouldn't let it go, and his eyes darkened slightly.
Seeing that she remained silent, Yan Beimo sneered, gripped her hand tightly, and the distance between them suddenly closed.
"I'll show you what happens when you disobey."
