The icy lake water instantly submerged that frail figure. Xie Rongyue's face turned pale as she sank, her hair disheveled, and her eyes brimming with tears.
She bent over, trying to swim upwards, but her limbs were weak, and she sank straight to the bottom of the water.

The two boats collided on the lake. When Wang Hezhan came out of the painted boat, he saw her and Lu Yu playing chess on the small boat, and his expression changed drastically.
She was sitting inside the boat awning when she noticed the gaze. She gently lifted a corner of her head and looked up, only to meet his face.

Xie Rongyue picked up the cold tea and took a sip, suppressing the surging and complex emotions in her heart. Before she could say anything, she heard a man's cold voice coming from outside.

The sound of the night watchman's drum came from outside. She glanced at the dark window, swallowed hard, and went back to bed to sleep.
She didn't dare take off her clothes and kept her eyes open, staring at the window.
The sound of cicadas chirping outside could be heard from time to time. She was so tired that she dozed off and closed her eyes.
But as soon as I closed my eyes, I heard rustling sounds from the other side of the window.
She woke up instantly and quickly lifted the bed curtains to look over.

Wang Hezhan was stung by her words, his eyes blazing with anger. He tightened his grip on her arm, leaving bruises in her hand.
"Since you've already lost your body, I might as well kill you."
Xie Rongyue felt a chill run down her spine, biting her lip tightly, and said angrily, "Then kill me."
The lamplight cast a slanting shadow, revealing a delicate young woman whose clothes were disheveled, her exposed skin as white as satin, and her long black hair cascading down her neck. Her eyes were brimming with tears as she looked at him, her pitiful appearance evoking pity.
Wang Hezhan bit her lip in anger, punishing her until it bled.
The taste of blood filled their mouths, and he seemed to want to devour her piece by piece.
Xie Rongyue hissed in pain, her body weak and powerless as she lay on the heavy brocade quilt.
