Chapter 125 Doesn't she recognize her father?
After being discharged from the hospital, Jiang Qingying stayed at a postpartum care center for a while. Then came Lu Jiaqing's one-month celebration. Jiang Qingying and Lu Jinyuan didn't want to have a big celebration, so they just booked a private room, invited Jiang Chen and his wife, as well as Lu Qicheng, to have a meal together as a family.
Jiang Qingying and Lu Jinyuan discussed it in detail and felt that Qingqing was still very young and should not change her living environment. So after Jiang Qingying left the postpartum care center, the three of them, along with Gou Dan, moved back to their own small home.
With Aunt Mei at home and two other nannies hired to take care of the child, and Jiang Qingying not returning to work so soon, and Lu Jinyuan not going out for social events after work, sometimes even leaving early to go home to be with his wife and child, there shouldn't be any problems taking care of Qingqing.
Lu Jinyuan left work early and went home again.
As soon as he entered, Aunt Mei was still preparing dinner. Seeing him return, she greeted him with a smile: "Sir, you're back early again today."
"I came back as soon as I had nothing to do." Lu Jinyuan bent down to change his shoes and casually asked, "Where's Qingying?"
Aunt Mei: "Upstairs, Qingqing just finished her milk, and she's trying to put her to sleep."
Lu Jinyuan responded, and Aunt Mei went back to the kitchen to prepare dinner.
Lu Jiaqing has her own nursery, but she is still too young. During the day, when the nanny takes care of her, she will rest in the nursery, but at night she will still sleep in the same room as her parents.
Lu Jinyuan went upstairs and first went to the nursery, but didn't see anyone. He turned back to the master bedroom and saw a large and a small figure on the soft bed. A smile involuntarily appeared on his face. He placed the suit jacket he was carrying on his arm on the sofa and quietly approached them.
Lu Jiaqing raised her two little hands above her head, slightly clenched into fists, with a little drool at the corner of her mouth, yet she slept very peacefully. Jiang Qingying lay on her side with her back to Lu Jinyuan, her arms outstretched, her daughter encircled in her embrace, subconsciously sleeping in a protective posture.
Lu Jinyuan sat on the edge of the bed, his palm resting on Jiang Qingying's side. He brushed aside the hair that was covering her face, looked at her for a while, leaned down and kissed her, and then went to the bathroom to tidy up.
The first thing he does when he gets home is take a shower, a habit he's only recently developed. After a long and tiring day, he wants to feel refreshed and ready to hug his wife and children.
After a quick wash, I came out of the bathroom and saw Lu Jiaqing, who had been fast asleep, with her big, round eyes wide open. She was playing with the ends of Jiang Qingying's hair and making soft, babbling noises, so Jiang Qingying didn't wake up.
Lu Jiaqing was having a great time when her round eyes darted around and she saw a very familiar man staring straight at Lu Jinyuan without blinking.
Lu Jinyuan smiled, dried his hair, then went around to the other side of the bed, first freeing the ends of Lu Jiaqing's hair from her hand, and then picked her up.
He softened his voice, "Don't you recognize your father?"
Lu Jiaqing, of course, couldn't speak yet and didn't understand what he meant; she just smiled at her father as a conditioned reflex.
"Let's go out and play, so Mom can get a good night's sleep."
Lu Jinyuan took his daughter out of the bedroom, went to the nursery to put a new layer of clothing on her, and then took her to the yard to bask in the sunset and breathe some fresh air.
-
When Jiang Qingying woke up, her head was still groggy. She reached out to touch the side without opening her eyes, but found nothing. She quickly opened her eyes, and her sleepiness vanished instantly.
Where's my daughter?
Jiang Qingying sat up in fright and noticed a suit jacket draped over the sofa. She remembered that Lu Jinyuan was wearing the same jacket today and guessed that he must have come home from get off work and taken their daughter out. Only then did she relax.
I put on my coat, washed my face in the bathroom, and went downstairs.
As she passed the restaurant, the aroma of food instantly whetted her appetite, and her stomach rumbled twice, just in time. She made a quick decision and turned into the kitchen.
"Aunt Mei, what are we having for dinner tonight?"
Aunt Mei had just finished stir-frying a plate of beef with yellow peppers. When she saw her, she smiled and answered the question about tonight's menu.
Jiang Qingying set her sights on the plate of meat in Aunt Mei's hand, washed a pair of chopsticks, and couldn't wait to grab two pieces and sneak a bite.
"It's delicious!" she exclaimed.
Aunt Mei looked at her with the eyes of someone looking at their own daughter. Even after becoming a mother, she was still like a child, asking enthusiastically what she wanted to eat and sneaking bites of vegetables before meals.
Jiang Qingying took a few bites, then suppressed her appetite and said apologetically, "I'll take this plate out for you, you can continue with your work."
"Okay." Aunt Mei handed the plate to her. "There's only one last dish left. It'll be ready soon."
"Mmm, thank you for your hard work, Aunt Mei." Jiang Qingying carried the meat away, taking a few more bites along the way before stopping her childish act of sneaking a bite.
The maid said that Lu Jinyuan was taking Lu Jiaqing for a walk in the courtyard, so she went out to look for them.
Lu Jinyuan was sitting on the swing with his daughter in his arms, looking down to make her laugh, his mouth opening and closing, but it was unclear what he was saying.
Jiang Qingying approached and sat down next to the father and daughter. "President Lu, you're so unprofessional. You left early again today."
"Come back early if there's nothing else." Lu Jinyuan took one hand out, holding Lu Jiaqing with one arm, and took Jiang Qingying's hand with the other.
Jiang Qingying scoffed, "Who would believe you?"
Lu Jinyuan smiled faintly and said nothing.
Jiang Qingying, still drowsy from just waking up, yawned as she rested her head on his shoulder. "I have something to tell you."
Lu Jinyuan: "You go ahead."
Jiang Qingying: "I plan to go back to the company later, when Qingqing is seven or eight months old. Her health should be much better then. We'll send her to my parents' house during the day and pick her up in the evening."
"Okay, I'll do as you say."
Lu Jinyuan was not surprised. He knew that Jiang Qingying was very career-oriented and would definitely not stay at home to take care of the child after having a baby, but she could not leave when Qingqing was so young.
Strictly speaking, since Qingqing's birth, Jiang Qingying loves her daughter even more than Lu Jinyuan, and is even more reluctant to part with her, wishing she could stay by her side 24/7. Therefore, although it's often inexplicable, it's undeniable that the couple are both jealous of each other's daughter.
At an age when she knew nothing, Lu Jiaqing inexplicably took on two huge burdens.
Outrageous, yet hilarious.
Lu Jinyuan joked, "If you're really worried, I'll stay home and take care of the kids, and you can go to work with peace of mind."
Jiang Qingying glanced at him, speechless.
Such a large Lu Group building, you can just leave it alone? Even if Lu Jinyuan could, she couldn't stand it.
She has no right to demand that the other person do what she herself cannot do.
Jiang Qingying said, "I love my child very much, but she only occupies a few short decades of my life. When she grows up, she will have her own life."
As the sun sets, its gentle rays bathe the courtyard in a golden glow. The swing in the middle of the yard sways softly in the breeze, casting shifting shadows on the ground. The scene is warm and harmonious, with overlapping figures separating and then coming together again.
Lu Jinyuan felt the head on his shoulder leave, and the weight suddenly lightened. He subconsciously turned his head, but before he could speak, a shadow fell in front of him, followed by a gentle kiss.
After Jiang Qingying finished kissing him, she pulled away slightly, her lips brushing against his almost imperceptibly, her eyes curving into a slight smile, her expression unrestrained.
She said, "So we should also live for our own lives and for each other to spend our lives together."
