Chapter 28 I have no hobby of stealing other people's men
When Jiang Qingying met Lu Jinyuan at the birthday banquet, all the questions she had raised the night before were answered.

The stairwell was half-lit and half-dark, and he happened to be standing in the shadows, his eyelids lazily lifting and lowering. You couldn't tell any emotion from his expression until he suddenly chuckled, and then an indescribable smile appeared on his face.
"What are you laughing at?" she asked.
Lu Jinyuan noticed a greater wariness in her eyes than usual. "Are you afraid I might do something to you?"
Jiang Qingying didn't answer but instead asked, "Then what will you do to me?"
"What can I do to you? I can't do anything to you, and isn't it always you who's doing things to me?" Lu Jinyuan said, as if reciting a tongue twister.
Jiang Qingying's eyes visibly turned cold. Yes, it was always her who was actively flirting with him, seducing him. Thinking of this reminded her of his engagement to Shen Shuyun, and she felt extremely annoyed. She said unhappily, "You know perfectly well who I am, yet you watch me play like I'm some kind of god. You must be enjoying yourself."
"I didn't know you already had a fiancée, but I should have known. You haven't forgotten what happened that night, have you? You did give me a response."
"Looking at it this way, Young Master Lu is far too unchaste."
Despite being labeled, Lu Jinyuan showed no anger. His gaze was cold and sharp. His identity had changed in front of her, and so had his demeanor. He was no longer the indifferent and rarely responsive young man. Now, he was like her equal opponent, neither of them willing to back down.
"I don't know if you've ever heard the saying: 'There is no greater calamity than having the words and expressions of an enemy when you don't even have one.'"
"Are you trying to say we have no grudge?"
Lu Jinyuan didn't think so. Seeing that she misunderstood, he had no choice but to explain, "I learned about the engagement on the same night as you."
Jiang Qingying scrutinized him, clearly not entirely convinced.
“I didn’t know her before, and the old man never mentioned her to me.” Lu Jinyuan’s rare patience had run out.
Jiang Qingying lowered her eyes and pondered for a moment. So what should she say?
