Chapter 95 You're Really Not a Good Father

Chapter 95 You're Really Not a Good Father

night.

Lu Jinyuan and Jiang Qingying drove out to the mall to buy maternity and baby products.

The two strolled hand in hand through the maternity and baby store, planning to buy baby supplies first, including a crib and a stroller.

President Lu and President Jiang are very wealthy. Apart from practicality, they just order whichever brand is the best and whichever is the most expensive.

Lu Jinyuan went to sign the contract.

Jiang Qingying walked to the baby clothing section, her interest much higher than when she was choosing a bed and stroller, because the children's clothes were so cute, small pieces with patterns that resembled grandma's, adorable.

She casually picked up a sky-blue jumpsuit and was examining it closely when Lu Jinyuan's voice suddenly sounded behind her.

"Why is it blue?"

His tone was sullen and displeased.

Jiang Qingying chuckled lightly, "I just grabbed this one because it was close by."

"Pink looks much better." After saying that, Lu Jinyuan picked up the same style of clothes in a different color and began to examine them.

That look... was overly loving.

Jiang Qingying pinched the pink bodysuit in his hand with her fingertips, admiring it for a couple of seconds. Actually, any color would look good. But she couldn't help worrying: what if she was carrying a boy?

Is this person going crazy?

As if guessing her thoughts, Lu Jinyuan sneered and looked down at her: "You really don't trust my intuition at all?"

"Is it really intuition?" Jiang Qingying stared at him. "Did you secretly ask the doctor behind my back?"

"I really didn't ask." Lu Jinyuan chuckled. Every time he tried to subtly probe the doctor, Jiang Qingying would glare at him fiercely, telling him to shut up.

Jiang Qingying wanted to maintain the mystery and wanted to wait until the day the baby was born to reveal the baby's gender.

"I really don't know where you get your confidence from, insisting that the baby is a girl."

"Didn't I tell you? Of course I know whether the sperm I provided is male or female."

"Your explanation doesn't make any sense biologically. How can an ordinary person like you determine cell differentiation and influence the direction of chromosomes?" Jiang Qingying poured cold water on him. "That's absurd, no, it's more like a fairy tale."

"Fairy tales?" Lu Jinyuan laughed in exasperation. "Fairy tales are for children."

Jiang Qingying shrugged. "So you're just fooling yourself, completely ignoring the other 50% possibility."

She suddenly remembered the lyrics of that song: "You cried and told me that fairy tales are all lies, and I can't be your prince."

If we rephrase her last sentence, it would be as if she were refuting Lu Jinyuan, implying that the baby couldn't possibly be his daughter.

Oh no, that's going too far.

Jiang Qingying was amused by her own wild imagination, but when she turned to look at Lu Jinyuan's resentful eyes, she felt as if he was about to break down.

"Okay, okay, it's a girl, alright?"

She gave in to him; she was incredibly naive.

“It’s a daughter.” Lu Jinyuan coldly uttered a sentence, then swept up all the clothes on the shelf that were designed for baby girls.

Jiang Qingying naturally didn't stop her, since it wasn't her own money being spent anyway.

While browsing, Jiang Qingying noticed a small cabinet against a wall, and she curiously went over to take a look.

It's a baby bottle sterilizer.

Lu Jinyuan followed behind her, saying, "Let's not breastfeed."

Jiang Qingying looked at him, her hand falling to her lower abdomen. After thinking for a long time, she said softly, "I won't feed her anymore. Let the baby drink formula."

“Yes, the formula is very good now, and it’s nutritious enough.” Lu Jinyuan put his arm around her shoulder. “That will make things much easier for you.”

Jiang Qingying nodded, as if she had remembered something, and her mood was very bad.

"What's wrong?" Lu Jinyuan asked.

"It's nothing." Jiang Qingying pursed her lips and sighed again: "I just suddenly remembered last year when my cousin gave birth. I went to see her and happened to see her breastfeeding. The scene was... terrifying."

She said, "And it seems like children eat a lot of meals. It's okay during the day, but at night they eat every few hours before going to bed, so how can they sleep soundly?"

Lu Jinyuan's eyes instantly showed heartache. He put his hand on her lower back and rubbed it for her, saying, "I also heard that breastfeeding is very hard, so I told you not to breastfeed."

"Actually, I was quite surprised," Jiang Qingying said.

Lu Jinyuan cast a questioning look at him.

"After all, you love your daughter so much." Jiang Qingying said softly, her words carrying little weight. "Sigh, pregnancy always brings a lot of inexplicable emotions, but I can manage them myself..."

Lu Jinyuan felt increasingly uneasy as he listened, his brows furrowing. Before she could finish speaking, he interrupted her, "I love you the most."

Jiang Qingying was taken aback and blinked at him.

"Don't worry unnecessarily." Lu Jinyuan lifted her chin with his index finger, kissed her, and said tenderly, "I love you the most."

He repeated it again.

Jiang Qingying smiled and said, "I understand."

Lu Jinyuan wanted to kiss her again, but Jiang Qingying dodged away. She glanced around and saw that their location wasn't remote, and there were quite a few couples shopping in the store.

She nudged him, saying, "We're both respectable people, so don't you dare lay a hand on me in public."

Lu Jinyuan moved a little further away from her and stopped touching her inappropriately, instead starting to tease her with words.

"Only I can kiss you there."

Compared to the usual straightforward and erotic remarks, these words are actually somewhat subtle.

Jiang Qingying didn't realize what he meant at first, so she didn't take it to heart. But later, when his gaze kept sweeping over her chest, she understood the meaning behind his words.

"Wouldn't you call this stealing food from a child?"

"I guess so."

"I take back what you said about how much you like your daughter."

"......"

"You're really not a good dad."

-

They drove themselves out tonight. On their way home, while waiting at a traffic light, Jiang Qingying saw a milk tea shop on the side of the road, stared at it for two seconds, and made a decision.

"I want to drink milk tea."

Lu Jinyuan followed her gaze, said okay, and then turned when the red light turned green to find a place to park the car.

He unbuckled his seatbelt. "Wait here for me."

Jiang Qingying: "Okay."

Actually, pregnant women shouldn't drink beverages containing a lot of caffeine, so Jiang Qingying basically doesn't drink them. It's just that she was in a good mood tonight and her mouth started to water.

Lu Jinyuan took this into consideration, so he bought her light milk tea with added chewy boba.

Jiang Qingying took a sip herself and fed him a couple of sips. Seeing his expressionless face, she couldn't help but laugh and said, "I think it tastes pretty good. Why do you seem to be suffering from it?"

"I don't like sweets, you know that."

"It's not very sweet, didn't you order it with 30% sugar?"

"It's very sweet." Lu Jinyuan paid attention to the road conditions, glanced at her when he had a moment, and curled his thin lips: "It's especially sweet because you fed it to me."

"...That's such an old-fashioned thing to say." Jiang Qingying wanted to throw the milk tea in his face. "That's something only young men should say. You should...be mindful of your age."

Lu Jinyuan pondered for a moment, and only said when they were almost home: "Indeed, we are more suited to something a little more exciting."

Jiang Qingying agreed, "This child is teachable."
