Chapter 27 Exploring the Unknown Treasures

Chapter 27 Exploring the Unknown Treasures

Just as Jiang Qingying was about to say something to get him to accept it, the other person took the car keys from his hand, walked silently to her G-Class, opened the driver's seat, got in, closed the door, and started the engine—all in an orderly fashion.

Jiang Qingying curled her lips and got into the passenger seat. "I was thinking about how to trick you into getting in the car, but I didn't expect you to agree so readily."

"Isn't the ending the same for everyone?" Lu Jinyuan said, turning the steering wheel, his tone no different from that of a real designated driver during a service—unfamiliar and distant: "Where to?"

Jiang Qingying leaned over to the central control screen, her long hair brushing against his hand on the steering wheel. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw his slender and long hair move slightly, the veins on the back of his hand standing out, the lines beautiful. Her hair swayed back and forth very little, almost directly touching the back of his hand, and he did not pull his hand away.

"Okay." Jiang Qingying entered the address into the navigation system, sat down, and fastened her seatbelt. "Thank you for your help."

Lu Jinyuan nodded and followed the navigation to the designated route.

As the car swayed and wobbled, Jiang Qingying slowly felt the effects of the alcohol build up. She rested her elbows on the car door, pressed her fingers against her forehead, and tilted her head to stare at the man driving. She didn't say anything, just quietly admired him.

Lu Jinyuan's driving posture was very cool. His one-handed steering wheel movements were steady yet unexpectedly a bit roguish. His gaze to the side was too arrogant, and he asked with a hint of helplessness, "What are you looking at?"

"Look at you," Jiang Qingying replied with a smile, meeting his impatient gaze without backing down or giving way. "Such a handsome designated driver, wouldn't it be a waste not to take a few more glances?"

Lu Jinyuan frowned, clearly displeased. Jiang Qingying saw this, smiled, and said with a regretful tone, "Fine, if you don't want to watch, then don't."

The atmosphere in the carriage gradually cooled, as if a cold atmosphere had settled in. After fifteen minutes of silence, the navigation system broke the deadlock with a clear, pleasant notification sound.

Lu Jinyuan stopped the car, looked at the person in the passenger seat with a carefree smile, and said in a deep voice, "We've arrived."

Jiang Qingying went all out with her act, pretending to look around and saying innocently, "I think I booked the wrong spot."

Lu Jinyuan, of course, saw through her intentions. The location she chose was neither a residence nor a hotel where one could rest, but a nearly deserted roadside. The road stretched as far as the eye could see, with tall ginkgo trees on both sides. The lush trunks blocked some of the streetlights, making the car dim. His vision of her was somewhat blurry, but her bright black eyes shone even brighter in the dimness, glistening with a watery luster, carrying a hint of intoxication.

"I was drunk," Jiang Qingying explained, indicating that she didn't do it on purpose.

She was truly drunk, but compared to before, she was even more disoriented now, probably from motion sickness.

What do you want?

"Can I do whatever I want?"

Lu Jinyuan did not answer.

"Thud—"

Jiang Qingying unbuckled her seatbelt, stretched her long legs across the center console, and sat on him with effortless grace.

Lu Jinyuan remained surprisingly calm, lazily lifting his eyelids to look steadily at the woman who was looking down at him. "You want this?"

Tonight, for the first time, I heard a smile in his tone.

Jiang Qingying laughed along, her red lips curving into a silent smile. She looked down at him, placed her hands on his shoulders, and whispered in his ear, "What if... I said it wasn't just like that?"

"Hmm?" Lu Jinyuan's voice was deep, with a slight upward curve at the end. On that extremely cold face, this slight upward curve was enough to make people intoxicated.

So Jiang Qingying became bolder, her lips brushing against his earlobe, and whispered a few words: "Do you know the name of the wine that got me drunk tonight?"

"What?"

"Isn't it called 'Maitai'?"

The two chuckled softly.

Jiang Qingying moved a little further away, meeting his eyes. "It's Mai Tai. My friend said the name means 'top-notch,' and..." she recalled for a moment, then continued, "away from this world."

Her fingertips hooked around the buttons on his shirt, her beautiful nails gently touching his chest through the fabric. "How about we escape this world together and explore the unknown wonders?"

Without realizing it, Lu Jinyuan's eyes flickered slightly, and his breath suddenly became hot. He smelled the strong, sweet scent of alcohol on her breath as she spoke, which clashed with her alluring and seductive appearance, yet surprisingly complemented it. He pinched her chin with his fingertips, his voice still as cold as ever, "You're very bold."

Of course, she was incredibly audacious, especially when she was drunk.

Jiang Qingying noticed a slight softening in his eyes. She smiled broadly, her bright eyes sparkling, and hinted, "Don't be afraid, I'm an adult now."

Lu Jinyuan let out a laugh from deep within his chest.

Jiang Qingying took his hand that was pinching her chin, and then slowly moved that warm, large hand to her waist. She said, "Do you know why I bought a G-Class?"

She asked another question, and he, as always, replied, "Why?"

“Compared to those tacky supercars that are only good for showing off wealth, the G-Class is different. At least it’s more practical…” She lowered her head, bringing her nose close to his, and teased him with a very soft whisper: “It’s spacious.”

After speaking, she tilted her head slightly and placed a kiss on his thin lips. It was a very light kiss, just a light touch, but she deliberately lingered on his lips with her breath as she pulled away.

one...

two...

three...

Jiang Qingying counted down in her mind, and on the third second, he caught up and took the initiative away.

Lu Jinyuan tried to suppress the frantic turmoil within him, but unfortunately, his efforts were in vain. She was very good at it; even though he was usually a calm and composed man, he couldn't resist her allure.

He once said that she had a mysterious quality, and he didn't know how to explain it before, but now he does.

He would be drawn in by her; her voice, her smile, her eyes, her movements—all were hooks. Even knowing that they would lure him into an unknown abyss, he still couldn't help but follow.

He kissed her, the feeling of restraint mixed with abandon intoxicating them both. He tasted the sweetness of wine in her mouth, with a hint of sourness. What kind of taste was this? he wondered.

Jiang Qingying actually had no kissing skills whatsoever, and was constantly being led by him. He seemed to be very experienced, but in his haste, he still bit her hard. He seemed to sense her discomfort, so he considerately slowed down the pace a little, just a little. The almost suffocating feeling made her slightly tipsy feeling intensify with each kiss. Her brain began to feel numb and swollen, and even her weak arms began to move uncontrollably, like creeping vines climbing up his body. And his stronger arms did the same, like shackles tightly locked around her back.

She gently pushed his chest to indicate that she was having difficulty breathing.

He was a devil in a gentleman's cloak. He temporarily released her breath, forehead to forehead, and the next second her warm breath fell on his face. He lifted his eyelids, his eyes burning with a fierce fire. He only glanced at her, only glanced at the allure that had arisen on her cheeks, before moving his kisses to her shoulder and neck.

I want to continue.

Jiang Yingqing, with her eyes closed, held his head in her arms. Suddenly, she felt his movements freeze and stopped. She asked, her breathing heavy, "What's wrong?"

"Someone's here." Lu Jinyuan closed his eyes, his voice hoarse, barely holding on.

Jiang Qingying looked in his direction, narrowed her eyes, and when she saw who it was, she frowned instantly, feeling annoyed and displeased.

Shen Shuyun was standing next to a boy, both of them holding onto bicycles.

Night riding? How classy.

But what does that have to do with her?

Disturbed, Jiang Qingying's aura turned cold, radiating anger. She switched the car lights to high beams, making the two people in her field of vision even more obvious. The other person was so blinded by the light that the person inside the car appeared unreal.

Shen Shuyun had no choice but to leave with her companions, feeling rather dejected.

An unexpected incident occurred, completely ruining his mood.

Lu Jinyuan cleared his throat lightly. "Get down."

Jiang Qingying glanced at him; his expression had calmed down considerably, and without close inspection, he seemed no different from usual. She suddenly lost interest, got off his lap, and returned to the driver's seat.

Lu Jinyuan opened both car windows, letting the wind blow in and dissipate the stuffy air inside the car.

In an instant, silence fell.

The wind dispelled Jiang Qingying's drunkenness, and she was much more sober than before. She gave an address, and then the car started moving again.

This time we finally went to the right place.

She rummaged through the back seat and found two bottles of water. She twisted open one of them and handed it to Lu Jinyuan. Seeing that he took it nonchalantly, she felt justified and drank half a bottle of mineral water.

Twenty minutes later, I arrived home.

“You are a member of the Lu family.” Jiang Qingying didn’t get out of the car, but suddenly asked. It wasn’t a question, it was a statement.

Lu Jinyuan looked over, a hint of surprise in his eyes, silently asking how she knew.

“I saw you get into the car of the Lu family’s butler the day I left.” Jiang Qingying tossed her hair. “I was just curious why the Lu family members needed to work part-time while studying at university.”

Lu Jinyuan did not answer, but calmly met her scrutinizing gaze.

Who exactly are you?

You'll find out soon enough.

"Ah..." Jiang Qingying drawled out the sound, and almost instantly he found the loophole in his words, "You know who I am."

"Um."

Lu Jinyuan turned off the car and, before getting out, said, "I'm leaving."

Jiang Qingying watched his figure gradually disappear into the darkness, lost in thought. After a long while, she gave up without reaching any conclusion.

At the time, she had no idea that the "soon" he mentioned referred to the following evening, at Lu Qicheng's 70th birthday banquet, when she would indeed "quickly" learn his identity.

The heir of the Lu family.

There's also Shen Shuyun's childhood betrothal.

All she could say was how dramatic it was; just one day later, the same three people were assigned different relationship lines.

But she was never bound by anything, so she took the initiative to untie the threads.

He's just a man.
