Shen Qian turned on the bracelet on the way, and as expected, the bracelet started vibrating wildly.
Shen Qian suddenly remembered that it seemed like only half a year ago, he was still a nobody who would not care even if he disappeared for a month.
But no one knew when it started, he had already become the center of attention.
Whether he likes it or not, there's no turning back now.
The sources of information were varied, and what puzzled Shen Qian was that Song Ye called him several times in a row, but when Shen Qian called back, the other party was busy, so he temporarily put the matter aside.
When it was 10 o'clock, Shen Qian first tried to log on to the Ministry of Education's official website with his mobile phone, but the webpage could not be refreshed at all and was completely frozen.
The VR center had the fastest internet speed, but several places I visited were fully booked, so I went to the library and the school's reading room instead.
As expected, all rooms were fully booked.
Some parents even brought their bedding and arrived the night before to reserve seats, leaving Shen Qian speechless with frustration.
After thinking it over, Shen Qian decided to go home and wait until the afternoon when the rush hour was over, figuring he could find out the information using his smart band.
He wasn't in a hurry.
Back in Xingfu Community, Shen Qian was suddenly blocked by several people who jumped out of the bushes.
"Hello, Shen Qian, we are reporters from Jingcheng United News Agency. We would like to ask you a few questions, is that alright?"
Before he could even react, several photos were snapped to attention, and then the host shoved a microphone right in front of him.
"Sorry, no."
Shen Qian frowned, pushed past the host, and walked forward.
However, before he could quicken his pace, the commotion seemed to have triggered something, and a dozen or so media personnel suddenly appeared from some corner.
"Hello Shen Qian, we are reporters from Jingcheng 24 Hours..."
"We are from Mingcheng Metropolitan Daily..."
"Chen Qian, I'm a special correspondent for Southwest News. May I ask you a few questions?"
A jumble of noise filled my ears; I was almost instantly surrounded by various cameras before I went to bed.
Among the nearly 100 media outlets in front of me, some are from Jingcheng, and two are from Mingcheng.
Shen Qian could tell from the reporters' eyes that they had no good intentions, and besides, there were no official media outlets like "Jingcheng Daily" or "Jingcheng TV" here.
This in itself speaks volumes.
After all, the official media is controlled by the City Lord's Mansion, while Chai Haotian cannot control these privately-run media outlets.
Therefore, Shen Qian didn't say a word and just kept walking forward with his head down.
But these reporters were clearly not going to give up easily, and regardless of whether Shen Qian agreed or not, they had already thrown a bunch of questions at him.
“Chen Qian, you’ve been back in Jingcheng for over five days, but I’ve heard that you haven’t shown your face in public or met with your classmates during these five days. Are you running away from something?”
"Chen Qian, what are your thoughts on becoming the 'Pride of Jingcheng'? Does this title make you feel oppressed now...?"
"According to a source within the community, you haven't been home for the past three days. Have you started to indulge yourself?"
"Chen Qian, South China University of Technology has made it clear that even if you fail the college entrance examination, they are still willing to admit you as a top scorer. What do you think...?"
"Chen Qian, do you have anything to say about those offensive comments on the Jingcheng Forum?"
"Shen Qian, there's an 'insider' who claims you were drinking heavily on the rooftop with a girl a few nights ago. May I ask..."
"..."
In the short distance of just a few hundred meters from the apartment building to the ground floor, these reporters relentlessly asked over a hundred questions, and the questions became increasingly outrageous.
Shen Qian didn't even bother arguing, because these people were just like internet trolls; they weren't there to listen to his explanations at all.
They only want to hear what they want to hear.
If they reveal even the slightest flaw before the sinking, they will pounce on them like mad dogs that have smelled blood, distorting the facts with all sorts of self-righteous opinions.
However, whenever Shen Qian wanted to speed up, the female hosts would deliberately step forward to block him. Considering that there were cameras nearby, Shen Qian temporarily endured it.
Taking action is ultimately wrong.
Only after opening the unit door did Shen Qian take a deep breath and turn around.
The reporters perked up, thinking that Shen Qian was finally going to respond, and gradually quieted down.
Shen Qian grinned, then slowly raised his middle finger at the reporter in front of him, and also at the so-called "whistleblower" and the middle-aged women in the distance who were pointing and whispering.
"roll!"
"you……"
Everyone was stunned, clearly not expecting Shen Qian to do such a thing in front of the camera.
"What did you say?"
"Sinking forward, this is a live video recording, please watch your words and actions!"
Shen Qian sneered and repeated very slowly, "I said... get the hell out of here, did you hear me?"
"Get out, you, fucking!"
Bang!
Before anyone could react, Shen Qian, feeling much better, slammed the door and left.
...
Back home, hearing the faint commotion coming from downstairs, Shen Qian glanced at his parents sitting on the sofa, adjusted his expression slightly, and then walked into the living room with a smile.
"Dad, Mom, why didn't you go out today?"
He greeted Shen Qian.
"You brat, today is your big day. If your mother and I are indifferent, what kind of society will we be?"
Shen Liang laughed and cursed.
Shen Qian chuckled, then noticed the lingering anger in Wang Xiaojuan's eyes. She hadn't paid any attention to him earlier, so he asked curiously, "Dad, what did you do to make Mom angry again?"
