Chapter 43 Return to School

When Shen Qian entered Class 109, the classroom was empty and eerily quiet.

He looked down at his bracelet in confusion. Sure enough, it was Monday, 9 a.m., which should have been the time for the first class. Where was everyone?

Bang! Bang!

Just then, fireworks suddenly burst out at the classroom door. Shen Qian turned around in surprise and saw that, led by Lin Xiaoqian, the students rushed in and burst into applause.

"Warmest congratulations to our classmate Shen Qian on his full recovery and return to class!"

Looking at the banner unfurled by Zhou Xu and Lao Wang, and at those sincere faces, Shen Qian felt a mix of amusement and emotion.

"Hey...it's class time now, isn't it inappropriate for you guys to do this?" Chen Qian quickly said when he saw Zhang Liangwei eagerly trying to lift him up.

Zhang Liangwei looked at his own fair and slender arms, then at Shen Qian, who seemed to have gotten quite muscular recently, and could only regretfully give up. At the same time, he adjusted his glasses and said, "Teacher Liu specially asked us to do this, saying it was to help you overcome your psychological trauma."

Shen Qian nodded, feeling a warmth in his heart.

Upon learning that he was to be discharged after only four days, Liu Simin, like Shen Qian's parents, initially strongly opposed it. It was only after the doctor repeatedly confirmed Shen Qian's physical condition that he was finally freed from the smell of disinfectant yesterday.

In fact, even the attending physician couldn't explain why Shen Qian's injuries healed so quickly. However, after Shen Qian subtly revealed that he had some connections at the Medical Research Institute, the attending physician stopped asking questions.

Some special medicines do indeed have miraculous effects.

For the nurses on duty, the only thing they could do was to get the patient discharged as soon as possible.

The reason is simple... Shenqian has an enormous appetite.

The special care wards provide freshly prepared meals free of charge, but Shen Qian was like a starving ghost, eating basically eight meals a day. Even when they were later switched to the simplest fried rice, it still took a lot of effort for them.

Liu Simin originally wanted Shen Qian to rest for a few more days, but Shen Qian insisted on coming to class. Considering that the college entrance examination was approaching, Liu Simin finally agreed.

Last night when I changed his dressing, Shenqian looked in the mirror. The wound on his back hadn't completely healed, but new flesh had grown. Apart from the unbearable itching, it didn't affect his normal activities at all.

After causing a ruckus with his classmates for a while, and promising Lin Xiaoqian and others that he would get the medicine as soon as possible, Class 109 gradually returned to normal order.

Chen Qian sat down, took out a large bag of steamed buns from his schoolbag, and picked up his World History textbook to read.

The wonderful time spent reading and studying always flies by. When the bell rang for get out of class, Shen Qian reluctantly closed the book.

Before sinking, he subconsciously touched a peach-colored stone hanging on his chest.

The obsidian he used to wear had long since lost its luster and become an ordinary gemstone, which Shen Qian had listed online for sale for three hundred yuan.

The stone he's wearing now is called "tourmaline," which is also a mutated spiritual mineral. It's quite valuable, though he doesn't know exactly how valuable it is. He's afraid that once he finds out, he won't be willing to wear it anymore.

After being discharged from the hospital yesterday, Shen Qian secretly went back to 998 Hospital and retrieved the spoils he had buried in the back garden.

It must be said that the scavengers were indeed pitifully poor, because the four of them only kept three things together.

A tourmaline stone, a map, and a small bottle containing an unknown dark green liquid.

The effects of tourmaline are roughly the same as those of obsidian, which can nurture spiritual power. This kind of thing, which is priceless and hard to find, is very common among scavengers. Shen Qian guessed that this was because spirit stone mines were all located in restricted areas.

The map is hand-drawn, mostly outside the restricted area, with some special locations marked on it. A small portion is of Jingcheng city proper, and judging from the marks, it was probably added later.

The road the system led us to before leaving the city was in this section.

Finally, there was that small bottle, something that neither the system nor the sinker knew what it was.

Clearly, this item is not in the system's knowledge base, so it most likely comes from outside the restricted area.

Before settling down, they placed it back underground. If they couldn't figure out what the liquid inside was, they'd just leave it buried...

Shen Qian felt he had made a huge profit from tourmaline; everyone loves a treasure that enhances intelligence.

Today was supposed to be a training day, but Shen Qian, who has been absent for two consecutive weeks, is not planning to go today either, and Zhao Hanhai probably won't ask him about it.

Zhao Hanhai hadn't visited him since he was hospitalized; probably in his mind, Shen Qian's unremarkable absence wouldn't make any difference.

Before I go to sleep today, I have something else to do.

To test your current strength and... the limits of your body.

Let A represent explosive power, B represent physical strength, and C represent bottleneck power.

Normally, a person's level of attainment is measured by A, but it actually reflects B. The system can mobilize most of the body's power, so under the system's control, A is often infinitely close to B.

C represents the theoretical limit of a person's current level, and this value is usually constant.

For example, if 149kg of explosive strength is the threshold for a quasi-martial artist, then the C of most ordinary people is the physical strength B corresponding to the explosive strength A of 149kg. However, after the initial breakthrough, the value of C will increase.

This is the power of a quasi-martial artist.

Lost in thought, Shen Qian, carrying a bag, had already arrived at the physical testing center.

I easily made my way to the administrator's office, pushed open the door, and there sat the same old man in the familiar spot.

"Hey, what a rare guest! You haven't been here in ages!"
