"You mean... let me in?"
Shen Qian turned his head in surprise.
He never expected that Wu Jingcai's true purpose was this.
“Yes.” Wu Jingcai nodded. “The opening of this ‘door’ is a harbinger and of great significance.”
"How so?" Shen Qian raised an eyebrow.
"No catastrophe occurs randomly."
Wu Jingcai waved his hand in mid-air, and an illusory scroll appeared in front of Shen Qian. Before Shen Qian could see what words were on the cover, Wu Jingcai had already begun to flip through it.
He only vaguely noticed that the words "Top Secret" seemed to be printed on the title page.
"The earliest we can trace back to is the end of 2022 AD, when the spiritual energy revival began, and that was when the first 'gates' appeared."
Wu Jingcai turned to a page with glowing text that told the story of more than two hundred years ago.
However, compared to the history lessons I had memorized before, this one contained much more detailed data and annotations.
"Afterwards, we compiled statistics. Although some data may not be accurate, we could still see some things in general. The first thirty-five 'doors' opened from all over the world were all level D."
"Thirty-three days later, another sixty-one 'doors' will open, this time mostly C-level."
"Then comes B-level, A-level..."
When Wu Jingcai got to this point, Shen Qian already understood what he wanted to express.
"You mean, the large-scale opening of the 'doors' follows some kind of pattern?"
Shen Qian narrowed his eyes.
"Whether it's a pattern or not is hard to say, but what's certain is that there must be some kind of intrinsic connection behind them."
Wu Jingcai smiled and then turned the page, saying, "One hundred and twelve years ago, the seven stars aligned, and the ten 'gates' opened. Those ten 'gates' were equivalent to the revival of an era called the Ancient Times."
"There are quite a few people, such as your eighth senior sister and the vice principal of your Jiangzhong Military Academy, who are new residents who appeared after that chaos."
He remained silent for a moment, pondering. If he remembered correctly, someone had said that the Candle Dragon was a terrifying creature that appeared only after that incident.
"This time, we may be facing the most 'doors' opening at the same time, unlike anything we've ever seen before."
Wu Jingcai sighed, "Among the first batch of 'doors' that opened as a harbinger, only the 'door' of Jiangzhong Military is A-level. It may be able to tell us some truth. Our Special Affairs Division came here to investigate this matter."
"Then why don't you send people in?" Shen Qian asked, puzzled. "I believe you should have plenty of manpower."
“I’ve tried, but none of the experts we sent out could even get close to this ‘door’.”
Wu Jingcai said helplessly, "This 'door' has been open for more than seventy-two hours. We have surrounded this place for a long time, but so far, there has been no movement from this 'door' and no creature has come out from inside."
"This is illogical, which is why we need to be even more cautious."
Looking back at the constantly spinning chaotic nebula, Shen Qian shook his head and said, "Director Wu, you may have misunderstood something. I did enter this 'gate' before, but that was several months ago. With my current level, I'm afraid it would be difficult for me to pass through this 'gate'..."
"You mean the restriction that prohibits entry above the mountains and seas?" Wu Jingcai suddenly interrupted.
Shen Qian nodded, not surprised that the other party also knew about this restriction.
After all, the Special Affairs Division of the Martial Arts Department can keep track of who has been inside, so they should be very familiar with the basic rules.
Different levels of "gates" will create various rules and constraints.
Some "gates" are actually harder for people with higher levels of skill to pass through.
The "gate" of Jiangzhong Military Forces restricts entry to those below the mountains and seas. In order to enter this "gate", Tantai Qin had no choice but to enter in a clone.
“There are some things that you may not understand, 'the door' is not as simple as you think.”
Wu Jingcai chuckled and said, “The classification of ‘gates’ is based on the vastness of the world behind them and the level of spiritual energy. In other words, the higher the level of a ‘gate’, the more dangerous it is. However, the rules for passing through each ‘gate’ are not necessarily the same.”
“Take this ‘door’ in front of you, for example. It has never restricted your level of attainment.”
"Not a realm?"
Shen Qian asked in surprise, "How do you know?"
"The demoness who bewitched Jiang Chengye back then was an existence above the Mountain and Sea realms. How was she able to enter this 'gate'?"
Seemingly sensing Shen Qian's distrust, Wu Jingcai slowly said, "Alright, even if that example is a bit far off, let me give you a more recent one. Just four days ago, when the 'door' had just opened, two people had already entered it."
"And both of these people are very familiar to Shen Qian."
"Who?" Shen Qian was taken aback.
“Chen Qian can see for himself,” Wu Jingcai said, waving his hand.
Sizzle!
Around the circular pit, a massive array hidden underground suddenly blazed brightly, with arcs of electricity flowing through it before converging towards the center.
"This is one of the methods our Special Affairs Division uses to monitor the various 'doors'; it can store images from the last seven days."
As Wu Jingcai finished speaking, at the end of the formation, a complex sphere of light was activated by the converging electric arc, extending a three-dimensional projection into the sky.
The projection showed the image of the "gate" of Jiangzhong Military, but the image was very unstable due to some kind of interference.
But in the footage from that unknown period of time, one can vaguely see a huge white jade gate rising from the previous ruins.
