Chapter 521 Ambush

Shen Qian felt a sharp pain in his eyes and a sense of confusion arose in his mind. He dared not look anymore and quickly closed his eyes, observing the dark blue bead in his hand from the perspective of his clone.

A moment later, Shen Qian was quite certain that this bead was the source of the mysterious patterns on Zhu Yan's body.

Moreover, other discoveries were made before the sinking: the patterns on the beads seemed to originate from the same source as those carved on the altar, showing a striking resemblance in some places.

"Is this bead a product of the Zhu Yan itself, or did it acquire it in some way?"

Shen Qian touched his chin, leaning more towards the latter.

Judging from its style, the altar was typical of human architecture, unlike what Zhu Yan had created. Moreover, although the ancient demons were exceptionally gifted, array formations were a discipline exclusively for humans. It would be far-fetched to say that this ancient ferocious beast could set up arrays.

But what use is this bead to me?

He was somewhat troubled before sinking.

He could barely even look directly at the bead, let alone use it for his own purposes.

After pondering for a while, Shen Qian suddenly had a flash of inspiration and thought of another way to use this Azure Soul Bead (his own name).

The patterns on the Soul Bead are related to spiritual power, and are clearly of a very high level. Although they cannot be directly controlled, they can be used to hone one's spiritual power.

The principle is the same as the "Primordial Refining God Chapter" that was abandoned before it was slumbered: visualize the Azure Soul Bead in your mind.

As long as the right approach is taken, this kind of training is far superior to the traditional, step-by-step training method.

"With a system in place to prevent things from spiraling out of control, it seems feasible..."

After pondering for a moment, Shen Qian put the Soul Pearl into the spatial crystal. Seeing that there was nothing left behind, Shen Qian did not delay any longer and his figure transformed into a rainbow and disappeared into the distance.

...

On the scorched earth, a dozen strangely shaped corpses stood.

They remained in a forward-running posture, their bodies leaning forward. Their backs were burned to a crisp, but their fronts remained somewhat intact, and their original features could still be vaguely discerned.

It descended from the sky before sinking, landing near the corpses.

"According to my senses, that 'door' is nearby, but what about these people?"

Shen Qian looked around but couldn't find any trace of the "door." He frowned and then began to examine the condition of the corpses.

At the very front was a woman. If you only looked at her front, you could still see that she had a great figure. After the carbonized clothes were peeled off, she had a curvaceous figure and snow-white skin. But her back was a terrible sight. It had been burned down to just a layer of skin and flesh.

As one of the few strong women in the Mountain and Sea Squad, Shen Qian knew this woman nicknamed "Bai Xue," but that was all.

Based on the previous scene, it's not hard to guess what happened.

Although these powerful members of the Mountain and Sea Squad escaped earlier than Chen Qian, the power of the stellar impact was immense. Even though Zhu Yan mitigated some of it, the resulting shockwave still claimed the lives of these Mountain and Sea experts.

"The only strange thing is that they were so close to the 'door', just a hair's breadth away from escaping, but they failed at the last moment."

Before sinking, I couldn't quite understand it.

He expanded his search area and found many more mangled limbs that were no longer recognizable as human remains in the scorched earth within several kilometers around.

After piecing together the information, at least forty or fifty martial artists from the Mountain and Sea Sects died here.

"completely annihilated?"

Shen Qian narrowed his eyes. If he remembered correctly, when he was struggling with Zhu Yan, there were probably only about this many powerful beings from the Mountain and Sea Realms who were still alive.

What about Xu Nian?

Although some of the corpses were unrecognizable, Shen Qian had a gut feeling that Xu Nian couldn't have died so easily. She was someone who had survived being hunted down by top-tier kings and nobles.

Just as Shen Qian was about to continue searching for the location of the "door" and planned to leave the Great Wilderness first, a warning suddenly appeared in his mind. He instinctively activated "Shadow Shift" and instantly appeared a hundred meters away.

Where the sinker stood before, a strange black lotus flower bloomed, and the space collapsed. Dark spatial rifts spread like vines, swallowing everything in their path.

"Huh, Nine Star Movement Technique... Tsk tsk, you really have a lot of tricks up your sleeve. Even a falling star couldn't kill you. Shen Qian, you really are a tough nut to crack!"

Seeing that the sneak attack had failed, a light laugh rang out in mid-air, and a figure completely covered in a cloak appeared.

"Xu Nian!"

Shen Qiantong shrank back, somewhat surprised.

Xu Nian's survival was within his expectations, but the fact that the other party not only didn't leave but was also lying in ambush here was something he hadn't anticipated.

Without a sound, three more figures appeared on either side and behind Chenqian, blocking all of Chenqian's escape routes.

They all appeared to be young, yet each had their own distinct features. The young man in front of Chen Qian had a messy beard and a mature-looking face; the man on the left had an arrogant expression and a scar running through his brow; and the young man on the right had a cold and stern face, with obvious fear and hatred in his eyes as he looked at Chen Qian.

"Guo Zhouyuan, Ji You, Nie Han!"

Shen Qian narrowed his eyes. He wasn't very familiar with Guo Zhouyuan, but he had dealt with Ji You and Nie Han more than once.

Half of Mei Yuan's direct disciples are here.

As the four appeared, Shen Qian immediately guessed what had happened. He looked around and asked, "These people... you killed them all?"

“Since they entered the Great Wilderness, they were already prepared to die at any moment.” Xu Nian did not answer directly, but only smiled faintly.

Shen Qian had already understood the hidden meaning in the other party's words. He was silent for a moment, then sighed and said, "You guys are really ruthless!"
