After Shen Qian finished his call, Song Ye glanced at him with some curiosity.
He could roughly understand each word that Shen Qian said to that Wang Yangming, but he didn't know what it meant when put together.
There was another urgent knocking at the door. Song Ye didn't ask any questions. After taking back the bracelet, he patted Chen Qian on the shoulder.
"Don't worry, Shen Qian, I will keep following up on this matter. I may not be able to handle the procedural issues, but I will definitely find a way to uncover the truth and bring those lawbreakers to justice!"
"You don't need to worry about your safety after you join the Armed Police Department for the time being. Since the police force is aware of this matter, they won't dare to act recklessly."
Seeing Song Ye's determined expression, Shen Qian nodded slightly, thought for a moment, then took the paper and pen, wrote a few lines, and handed them to Song Ye.
"If I'm still not out in a day, please ask Captain Song to go to the address written on this and find someone for me. His name is on it too. Just show him this note. Thank you, Captain Song!"
Shen Qian felt that he still couldn't place all his hopes on Wang Yangming, so he added another layer of insurance through Song Ye.
Song Ye glanced at it briefly; it was similar to the content of the phone call, which he couldn't quite understand. However, the address seemed vaguely familiar, but Song Ye couldn't remember where it was for the moment.
After Song Ye carefully put away the note, Shen Qian walked out of the interrogation room, letting the two men in black from the Martial Arts Bureau escort him out.
Behind him, Song Ye stood on the corridor, sighed softly, then turned around, called two of his men, and headed out to the scene of the incident, hoping to find some more useful evidence.
...
After leaving the gate of the police force's city branch, Chen Qian looked up at the sky.
It was the middle of the night, the darkness was thick, and dark clouds obscured the moon.
Below the steps at the entrance, in the darkest spot, was a black van, enclosed by an iron cage, with a sword-shaped pattern painted on its body.
This pattern is also found on the black uniforms of the Martial Arts Bureau, leading Shen Qian to speculate that it is the Bureau's exclusive emblem.
A woman in a police uniform stood in front of the open door of the van. She had short hair and plain features, but her eyes were sharp and cold as she stared at Shen Qian, who was walking down the steps.
She wore a name tag around her neck; her name was Zhao Guiying, and her position was Deputy Director of the Logistics Department of the Police Force East Branch.
After scrutinizing the other person for a while, Shen Qian guessed something from the somewhat familiar features and asked directly, "Zhao Xin's cousin?"
"It's me."
Zhao Guiying paused briefly, then stared at Shen Qian and said indifferently, "Xiao Xin suffered a lot in that godforsaken place, Lucheng, since he was a child. It's too much to ask that he's still being bullied in Jingcheng. This time, I'll teach you a lesson."
"If you're wrong, admit it; if you're going to get a beating, stand up straight. This time, stand properly."
As soon as Zhao Guiying finished speaking, a mocking smile appeared on her lips, and she suddenly kicked Shen Qian's broken leg.
The force wasn't strong, but it hit the wound precisely, causing him to sweat profusely from his forehead.
He didn't make a sound or scream before sinking, but just gave Zhao Guiying a deep look before getting into the van under the shoving of the black-clad man behind him.
There was another person in the back seat of the car, Chai Mu, whose face was pale but who had a strange smile on his face.
"What a pity."
Chai Mu looked at Shen Qian, his regret mixed with barely concealed excitement.
"Come on, I'll take you to the Martial Arts Bureau as a guest. People your age are rare there!"
Shen Qian ignored his sickly behavior, sat down in the middle seat, and closed his eyes slightly.
Just to be on the safe side, I also used the system's chat window to search for self-rescue plans while I was in the interrogation room.
The system provides a name and an accurate address.
Seeing that his solution to the problem coincided with the system's, Shen Qian felt much more at ease.
But if even that can't save him, he can only resign himself to fate.
...
After getting out of the taxi, Wang Yangming began searching the surroundings for the address Shen Qian had mentioned, his forehead covered in sweat.
He was located on the most bustling commercial street in the center of Jingcheng, lined with shops and numerous alleyways. However, apart from the address "No. 9 Jingnan Road," there was no other information about the location, which greatly frustrated Wang Yangming.
He was sound asleep when a phone call from Shen Qian woke him up. At first, Wang Yangming thought Shen Qian was joking, but after listening to a few words, Wang Yangming, who knew Shen Qian's personality well enough, knew that Shen Qian was really in trouble.
A matter of life and death.
These were Shen Qian's original words, and Wang Yangming believed them.
Although Wang Yangming didn't know why Shen Qian was in a life-or-death crisis, nor why Shen Qian neither called the police nor sought help from his teacher, but instead asked him to do something strange, Wang Yangming believed that Shen Qian had his own reasons.
Just like in his second year of high school, he offended a senior in his third year of high school because of a moment of passion. He was cornered in a small grove by the school playground. Just when he was in despair, Shen Qian came in carrying a stool.
Although both of them were beaten black and blue afterward, Shen Qian kept calling him an "idiot" for days on end...
But that day the sun was shining brightly, and when Shen Qian slapped a senior who was cursing and swearing as he rushed in, he was really cool.
Wang Yangming, who was full of enthusiasm, soon felt somewhat desperate.
This whole street is Jingnan Road, but he walked back and forth and still couldn't find the place Shen Qian had mentioned.
No. 10 Jingnan Road and No. 8 Jingnan Road are next to each other, and there is no No. 9 Jingnan Road in between.
