Qi Jie and Han Jisheng stopped what they were doing at the same time.
The baseball bat was a fist's distance from Han Jisheng, while Han Jisheng's dagger was already in front of Qi Jie.
"Aren't you two afraid of actually hurting each other?"
Seeing this, Shangwu complained.
"Don't worry, we know what we're doing."
Han Jisheng replied simply, put away his dagger, stepped off the stage, and picked up the food Shang Wu had brought: "Thank you."
"Shangwu, you haven't been around all day. Why don't you come up and practice?" Qi Jie raised an eyebrow.
"Next time."
Shang Wu refused, throwing the food directly to Qi Jie on the arena, and said...
"I've accepted a solo mission. I'm leaving for Area 11 tomorrow, and I probably won't be back for a few days."
"Single?"
Qi Jie asked in confusion, "A solo mission in District 11? Isn't it about dealing with alien beasts?"
"No, the details of the mission need to be kept confidential. I'll tell you later."
“Okay, let’s take a short rest for the next few days,” Han Jisheng said.
The team's coordination when hunting calamity creatures is almost perfect; it's easy to make mistakes if even one person is missing.
"Why rest? We can just go and take on missions ourselves," Qi Jie disagreed.
“The Creation Cult is growing stronger and stronger, and we have fallen far behind. We have no time to rest.”
Han Jisheng paused for a moment, then nodded in agreement.
This reminded Shangwu of the first time he met Han Jisheng.
He was known for his speed, and during the assessment, he ignored the senior students and sped all the way to Kaitian Academy.
I remember someone gave him a nickname that day: Han the Runner.
However, now faced with a mission to hunt down calamities, where one wrong move could lead to certain death, he did not choose to avoid it.
It is difficult for a person to change.
Han Jisheng has become the way he is now because Qin Sheng took the initiative to bring him back.
Perhaps he was constantly filled with regret and guilt, which is why his personality underwent such a drastic change.
Shang Wu sighed, "You should all take a break. Pushing yourselves too hard all the time can easily lead to trouble."
Qi Jie was already somewhat used to his dissuasion, and mumbled an indistinct reply while shoveling food into his mouth: "I know, I know."
But this time was different. Shangwu said seriously, "I'm serious. You two are geniuses in Kaitian Academy. You should think about your future paths."
Han Jisheng asked in confusion, "What do you mean?"
"It's just a breakthrough in cultivation, what other path can it take?" Qi Jie said casually.
“I knew you guys didn’t realize it.”
Shangwu was helpless. Every time he reminded them, he wanted the two of them to realize it on their own, but they were pushing themselves too hard and only thought about breaking through as soon as possible, never facing themselves squarely.
"Fine, I'll just tell you directly."
Shang Wu said seriously, "You all need to suppress your cultivation levels."
"Why?" Han Jisheng asked.
Seeing his serious expression, Qi Jie didn't rush to refute him.
Seeing this, Shangwu began to explain to them.
Humanity's cultivation path has always been a series of steps: from first-level to ninth-level martial artist, then Grandmaster, King, and Venerable.
"However, there is a problem with this road."
Qi Jie frowned: "What's the problem? Everyone's been practicing quite well."
Han Jisheng seemed thoughtful: "You mean it's too simple?"
"Yes." Shangwu nodded: "I did not mean to question our predecessors. It is already a genius thing that they were able to find a complete path from scratch in the decades after the invasion of alien beasts."
"However, while this path can lead us all the way to the Venerable Realm, it is full of flaws in terms of combat strength."
"Leaving aside the calamity species, even if we wear our weapons, we would still have difficulty dealing with the alien beasts at the same level. We must rely on overwhelming each other in terms of cultivation level."
"It's only because the beasts lack intelligence and don't know how to protect their offspring that the situation would be even worse."
Shangwu glanced at the two men and said, "Now we are walking on the path our predecessors have walked, and the road ahead is bright."
“In this situation, we should also consider repairing and restoring this dilapidated mud road.”
After a pause, Shangwu reminded the two of them.
"From Sister Ye's bone tempering to Lao Fan's internal organ training, and because Lao Fan discovered the wonderful uses of the blood of strange beasts, the neighboring Dragon Transformation City is already researching blood forging."
"You've all seen the effects of the blood of strange beasts. It can help people temper their bones and strengthen their internal organs, and perhaps even help them refine their blood."
"After these are perfected, they will definitely be incorporated into the martial arts training process in the future."
"You've all seen Sister Ye's combat power. With her weaponry, she can already overwhelm other beasts of the same level. Although she's not strong enough to deal with calamity-type beasts, she can still hold her own."
"If this becomes widespread, the path of martial arts will be basically perfected, and one person will have no problem facing alien beasts alone."
Shang Wu spoke calmly, which stunned Qi Jie and Han Jisheng.
Because they always thought this was something only geniuses could do, and never considered that it was actually a basic skill.
Shangwu didn't stop, but instead posed a question to them.
"The path of martial artists has been perfected, but what about grandmasters? What about being crowned a king? Have you ever thought about that?"
The two shook their heads in a daze.
"Becoming a Grandmaster is very simple." Shang Wu paused, feeling somewhat speechless.
"Isn't Lao Fan next door trying to condense energy? This is probably what a Grandmaster has perfected."
"The reason I asked you to suppress your cultivation levels is because of this. Once Lao Fan has perfected it, you can just copy his work."
"Thank you so much," Ye Bufan chimed in, sounding rather annoyed.
"Old Fan, you're here too." Qi Jie waved and said quickly, "Hurry up, the martial arts class is starting."
