The sword energy, like a rainbow, pierced through the old man's heart.
However, the old man had lost his human form, his body covered in wet scales and fish-like gills.
"This place has been exposed."
Shangwu sighed, "Even if we blockade them now, it's pointless."
There's one believer, but who knows if there might be a second one hiding among them?
Shen Qing, sitting on the ground beside him, lit a cigarette and looked utterly weary.
"Another believer."
Xu Ruiling looked at her with a hint of pity.
This is really bad luck.
I hailed a taxi at random, and the driver was a religious person.
I asked an old man for directions, flirted with him a bit, and it turns out he's a religious person.
If it weren't for the fact that Shang Wu had found the driver and that Shang Wu hadn't come to check out the village, he would have suspected that Shen Qing had some kind of problem.
"It's alright," Shangwu comforted him. "It's just a coincidence."
"Sigh," Shen Qing said dejectedly, "I guess I'll just have to be a quail."
This time he truly kept his word, and from then on he simply introduced the situation in District 11 to Shangwu and the other man, no longer chatting with strangers.
"Hello, could you tell me which way to the bank?"
Passersby went up to ask, but Shen Qing decisively hid behind Shang Wu and the other man.
It made the passersby feel a little awkward.
Shangwu was helpless, but fortunately Shen Qing had already introduced the surrounding area to them, pointing to the end of the street.
"Turn left and you'll see it."
"Thanks."
After the passerby left, Xu Ruiling said impatiently, "Hurry up and come out."
Hiding behind Shangwu is clearly his privilege!
“You don’t understand.” Shen Qing patted the hem of his clothes and said calmly, “What I’m doing is called protecting you to your side.”
"Thank you," Shangwu retorted.
"Alright, enough joking around."
Shen Qing pointed to the construction site where the building was being renovated and said, "This is where the homeless used to like to hang out."
“This used to be an unfinished building. The homeless people there weren’t actually homeless; they were ordinary people who had been financially drained by buying houses and had no choice but to become homeless.”
He sighed as he spoke.
"The developer, relying on his martial arts skills, ostensibly delayed the handover of the property, but in reality had no intention of delivering it at all."
Shangwu looked at the already completed community; the current construction was only on the community grounds.
The rooms and everything else have been rebuilt.
"So who's in charge here now?"
"Xuzhou".
Shen Qing paused for a moment: "Do you believe him now?"
"What do you think?" Shangwu retorted. "He was dying at the time, didn't you see that too?"
“That’s true.” Shen Qing nodded.
The two didn't say much and started strolling around the neighborhood ahead of him.
However, they soon noticed that it was unusually quiet here.
Where did everyone go?
Shangwu murmured to himself, glancing around at the unusually quiet surroundings. Apart from the sounds of construction, there was no sign of human presence.
"Jinghong Residential Area".
I feel like I've seen this somewhere before...
Shang Wu took out his phone and noticed the information that Lie Ri Feng Wang had given him, in which some of the people's addresses were in Jinghong Community.
Then the situation becomes clear.
The residents here are believers who gathered at Laoshan Temple!
"It's almost time, let's go find Xu Zhou and the others."
Shen Qing drove back to the Wuxing Hotel and found Xu Zhou in the suite on the top floor.
"They're here."
Shangwu nodded: "Do you have a few reliable routes?"
"Three."
“I have two here.” Shang Wu paused for a moment, recalling the composition of the city guard.
The city guard is just a general term, but it is internally divided into six departments.
Logistics, combat readiness, patrol, education, propaganda, and military police.
Shangwu needs to test all six ministers, so there's still one route missing.
However, only one option remains, which is perfect for discussion now.
Xu Zhou, being an experienced person, considered the route more thoroughly than Shen Qing, and Shang Wu also had a heated discussion with him.
As for Shen Qing, after being idle for so long, she finally had a chance to chat with someone.
"Brother Chenyu, how's your little brother doing?"
Chenyu nodded: "The situation is basically stable now, all that's left is to rest and recover."
Shen Qing pondered and said, "Brother Chenyu, you are a Grandmaster, right?"
"right."
"How come your brother is only at the seventh level?" Shen Qing paused for a moment. "I didn't mean any harm, I was just curious."
"fine."
Chen Yu casually said, "We have different roles. I'm in charge of cultivation, and he's in charge of managing the nursing home. It's inevitable that his cultivation level is a little lower."
"Nursing home?"
"right."
Chenyu explained, "My brother and I took over the nursing home from our parents and have been running it ever since."
“A nursing home, huh?” Shen Qing sighed. “It wasn’t an easy job before.”
"Although it's a bit difficult, the grandparents are all very kind people, and we can't bear to remove it." Chenyu's expression softened as he said this.
"Brother Chenyu is indeed a man of great loyalty and righteousness."
Shen Qing pondered for a moment: "Speaking of which, what's the name of your nursing home?"
"Sunshine Nursing Home".
"Sunshine Nursing Home?"
"right."
"The one in the old neighborhood?"
"Yes."
Chenyu asked in confusion, "You know?"
Shen Qing was a little embarrassed: "I remember my second uncle was there too."
"Second Uncle?"
"Shen Moteng, do you remember him?"
Chenyu suddenly realized: "Grandpa Teng, his skits are very famous in our courtyard. Many old ladies like to watch them."
