Just as Kuro was clinking glasses and exchanging toasts...
A new world, somewhere in the sea.
Boom!
The weather in this sea area was not good at the time, with lightning and thunder, strong winds and raging waves that almost turned into tornadoes.
Such weather is rare even in the first half of the journey, but it's common in the New World.
When sailing in the New World, one must be wary not only of powerful enemies and sea kings, but also of the unpredictable weather.
In weather like this, few pirate crews dare to venture straight in; most either discover it beforehand or are unlucky enough to perish at sea.
"Full rudder, full rudder to starboard!"
In this strange and violent weather, a ship was adrift. The ship was large, but compared to the weather, it was still as small as a small boat, teetering on the verge of capsizing.
A faint roar came from within the ship. A flash of lightning illuminated most of the ship, revealing a skull and crossbones flag with a captain's hat, a slightly bowed skull, and two crossed blades on the torn sails.
On the deck, Elmira stared at the raging wind and rain, howling loudly.
"Quickly turn right, don't go any further, or we'll all die!"
Elmira was yelling at the pirates nearby.
The pirates were also on edge, each straining with all their might as they manually adjusted their sails, because a huge whirlpool had inexplicably appeared ahead.
Once that thing gets caught in it, the ship is gone.
"Where's William? Where's the captain?! Haven't you called him yet?!" Elmira roared.
"Captain, the captain hasn't come out yet..." a pirate said weakly.
"hateful!"
Elmira's face darkened. "Damn weather, damn Kuro!"
In this kind of weather, if William were to take action, they could fly briefly using the power of steam and break through this harsh weather zone. But right now, William has been holed up in the captain's cabin ever since he was attacked by Kuro.
If it weren't for that damn Kuro, this wouldn't have happened!
Boom!
A bolt of lightning suddenly struck down, blasting off one of the ship's masts. Flames billowed from the mast, and the massive mast plummeted downwards, causing the pirates below to stare wide-eyed.
If that thing falls, the situation won't be good.
Bang!
Just then, a figure flew rapidly into the air and kicked the falling mast. The force of the kick sent the mast flying and crashing into the surging sea.
Montblanc kicked the ball and landed on the ground, yelling, "How long is William going to stay so depressed?!"
How would I know, he is now...
Elmira glanced at the captain's cabin with a complicated expression. He was locked inside and had never come out, and she wondered what he was thinking.
They had already suffered heavy losses; a fleet was reduced to just one flagship, with most of their men perishing at sea. Now, William was staying home, and Elmira was handling everything, big and small.
Normally things are fine, but morale is low right now, and with this situation, if William doesn't come out soon, their ship is likely to sink.
"Anyway, let's get through this first! Montblanc, I'm counting on you!" Elmira said through gritted teeth, watching the vortex draw ever closer.
"Leave it to me!"
Montblanc took a deep breath, flashed his feet and jumped directly to the side of the boat, his hands hanging on the edge of the boat and his feet dragging on the side of the boat. With a loud shout, he kicked off.
Bang!
With a muffled thud like a struck bell, the entire ship was thrown to the side and drifted a short distance, just managing to escape the whirlpool's control.
The loss of control over the vortex allowed the ship to regain some traction. With a full right turn, the ship slowly moved to the right, gradually moving away from the vortex that could sink a person to the bottom of the sea.
Seeing this, Elmira breathed a sigh of relief.
One of the biggest crises is gone.
But this weather...
Boom!
Another thunderclap boomed, and just as the ship was drifting away from the whirlpool, it suddenly began to shake violently again, causing Elmira to stumble and nearly fall.
"This is..."
His expression changed, and he ran to the edge of the boat and peered down, his face extremely grim.
Right below them, a huge whirlpool inexplicably appeared, and the ship's direction was now beginning to change with the whirlpool.
This is like walking straight into a pit!
"It's hopeless!"
Montblanc had just boarded the ship and witnessed this scene, gritting his teeth.
Destroying a ship is easy for him, but kicking it away with skillful force without causing any damage is something he cannot do.
But if the boat is damaged, it's uncertain whether they'll be able to get out of this terrible weather.
At this point, Elmira couldn't hold back any longer and yelled into the captain's cabin:
"William, how long are you going to stay so down? We're all going to sink to the bottom of the sea!"
There was still no movement in the captain's cabin.
Montblanc's face darkened with rage, and he charged straight toward the captain's cabin, shouting, "I'll force my way through!"
However, just as his fist was about to reach the door, the door creaked open, and before he could even see the person, a large amount of steam billowed out.
The steam, like a pillar, swept across Mont Blanc at the entrance, swirling in all directions like a giant snake. It suddenly grabbed the ship, lifting it upwards and forcefully pulling it out of the whirlpool. Then, the steam surged wildly, gathering behind the ship and, like a shockwave, propelling it forward at high speed, breaking free from the harsh weather and plunging straight into the sea.
“William…”
Elmira murmured.
The steam surrounding the ship gradually dissipated as the storm subsided, revealing a bright moon and stars.
At the door of the captain's cabin, William, dressed as neatly as a captain and wearing a white scarf, slowly walked out and said in a deep voice, "Enough, stop the chaos and the noise."
The chaotic scene suddenly quieted down after hearing just one sentence.
"I was just thinking about things, not cowering over anything."
William glanced around at them and said, "These past few days have finally made me realize that Kuro was right; the sea is cruel. Long-standing victories had made me forget this, and it's normal to be learning a lesson now. I didn't maintain the same level of caution I had in the East China Sea, and that was my fault."
Of course!
Who knows how he's been getting through these past few days!
What fifth emperor?
What do you mean, "I'm on par with him"?
It's fake! It's all fucking fake!
It wasn't that William was weak; it was that the fifth emperor was a fraud, and William was misled!
They were misled by those weak pirates!
Those pirates he defeated were no different from those in the East Blue; they were all fake, all boastful!
The truly powerful ones are like Kuro!
