Chapter 11 What exactly are your ambitions?

Join the Navy?

A dark line appeared on Kro's forehead as he coldly said, "Don't joke around. Do with me as you please."

"I'm not joking, I'm very serious."

Kuro said, "Being a pirate has no future. Why not come with me to join the Navy? There's a salary and benefits, and it's very safe."

Making pirates join the Marines is like forcing innocent women into prostitution.

Kro calmed down instead. He knew he couldn't beat the person in front of him; that last slash had already proven it.

He wasn't a brainless idiot; he would still attack even knowing he couldn't win. If the other party wanted to kill him, they wouldn't need to resort to any other means.

"What exactly is your purpose?"

“‘Hundred Strategies’ Crow, I have long heard of your great name. I need your wisdom.”

As expected, they recognized me.

Do you need my wisdom?

Kuro looked Kuro up and down. Although the man was just standing there casually, Kuro could feel the power emanating from him, like the trembling feeling of a lower-level creature encountering a higher-level creature.

Does such a person need his own wisdom? Does he need the wisdom of a pirate? What does he want to do? What are his goals?

"I'm a pirate with a bounty," Kuro said in a final attempt to explain.

"A bounty of 16 million Berries? What does that matter? You're essentially 'dead' already; the warrant was withdrawn long ago. Besides, it's not unprecedented for pirates to become Marines," Kuro laughed.

There are indeed precedents. At least Kuro knows of one: his subordinate, Django, was directly exonerated and then joined the Navy.

That guy's bounty is nine million.

Not to mention that Kuro has already been 'caught'. Given the government's nature, it's impossible for them to admit their mistake. Even if they did recognize him, if Kuro had joined the navy at that time, the matter would probably have been dropped.

Seeing that Kuro had already made up his mind, and that he seemed to have no room to resist, Kuro could only nod.

Regardless, he can survive.

Clooney wanted a peaceful life, not a peaceful death.

The patrol ship approached the pirate ship, and Cass and the others were ready to board it, but upon closer inspection, it seemed that everyone had passed out.

"Warrant Lieutenant, this is..." Cass asked curiously.

"If they were stunned by the shelling, they were already unconscious when I arrived."

Kuro made up a random excuse, then pulled Kuro over and said, "This guy is good. I'm going to take him back to headquarters and have him serve the Navy."

"Pirate? Warrant Officer, how can a pirate join the Navy?" Cass asked in surprise.

“Cass, I didn’t want to do this either, but he was just so pitiful.”

Kuro, who was prepared, pointed at Kro and said, "Look at him, doesn't he look like a man?"

Upon hearing this, Cass looked at Kro seriously, his eyes widening immediately: "'Hundred Plans' Kro! Impossible, Kro has already been captured by Monka."

Kuro said sadly, "The Black Cat Pirates found someone who looked extremely similar to their captain to serve as their captain in order to commemorate him. Look at him, his meticulous hair, his round-framed glasses, are exactly the same as Kuro's. They even changed his name to 'Kuro'. But in reality, he was just an ordinary person."

Ask him what he really wants to do.

"I...I want a peaceful life. I'm tired of the fighting and killing among pirates."

Kuro, being stared at by Kuro, spoke in a daze.

This was indeed his goal, his heartfelt words, and it sounded completely genuine.

Cass was moved, wiping away tears. "It's so tragic! An ordinary person being forced to do such a thing, it's truly tragic!"

After Kuro said that, Cass's initial resistance disappeared. Come to think of it, didn't their 153rd branch also have a short, pink-haired guy who spent two years in a pirate crew before joining the Navy?

Click...

The cracks that were originally created by the cannon fire on the pirate ship gradually widened.

"The ship is sinking, let's get on board first and deal with these pirates as they please." Kuro was the first to board the warship.

We can't catch him, or Kro will be exposed.

The Black Cat Pirates have kept a low profile in recent years and haven't done anything evil. Kuro can let them go as long as they can survive on this sea.

Kro then inexplicably boarded the ship.

...

"Crow, I happen to have a question I'd like to discuss with you."

In the captain's cabin, Kuro lit a cigarette and handed the cigarette case to Kro, saying, "Sit down, don't be shy."

"'Hundred Plans' Kuro? Where did you get such a person? He's a big pirate in the East Blue."

Lida chewed on potato chips and looked at Kro curiously.

Even a little kid knows about me?!

Kro felt that all the work he had done in the past few years had been in vain.

Kuro said, "Now that he's one of us, perfect timing. I have a question for you."

Is this guy starting to reveal his ambition?

He's so strong, yet he's only a warrant officer. What's his purpose in staying in the East China Sea?

Treasure?

strength?

The throne?

If he still wants to develop his own territory, he needs to use his experience and wisdom as a pirate.

"I have a friend..."

Kuro slowly said, "He's a Marine. He was living a good life in the East Blue, killing bandits and training. But because of some accidents, I—no, my friend—was drafted to the Marine Headquarters. Going to the Headquarters is a done deal, there's no way to avoid it. But is there any way to get him back to the Shikai Branch safely, preferably back to the East Blue?"
