Chapter 12 Don't joke around, pirates!

The ship continued its voyage, and for the past few days, Kro had been observing the patrol vessel.

He learned that this was the Navy of Branch 153, and also learned about his ill-fated relationship with Monka.

But this only made him more puzzled. From the intelligence he had gathered over the past few days, he understood that Kuro was just a warrant officer with nothing particularly outstanding about him. Although he was somewhat respected by the navy on the warships, the image of Kuro that they presented was that of a conscientious and dutiful navy officer.

Kuro, on the other hand, was just an ordinary navy officer, or even a somewhat lazy one.

He didn't do any daily drills or go out on patrols; he left everything to his second-in-command, Sergeant Cass.

He spent all his time hanging out with that little girl in the cabin; one of them smoked and drank, while the other always had snacks in hand.

If Kuro hadn't memorized that stab so deeply, he might have been deceived by the illusion Kuro was putting on.

If even he could be deceived, then this man's long-term lurking in the East China Sea must be part of a grand conspiracy.

This man is terrifying!

Kro looked at the sky from the deck. Although there were no clouds, he felt that dark clouds would soon cover the sky, as if a giant hand was about to cover the entire East China Sea.

"Oh! Baratie, Baratie!"

Lida's cheers came from inside the cabin. She ran over, raising her hands high and jumping for joy.

Ahead, the outline of a ship can be faintly seen.

The most famous restaurant in the East China Sea is Balati, a restaurant on the sea.

"Is Mr. Cloth also interested in Baratie?"

Seeing that Kro was staring blankly ahead, Cass couldn't help but ask.

These past few days, the Navy has been trying to find out Clooney's 'real name,' but Clooney has openly and honestly confirmed his name, saying, 'Since I'm called Clooney, I'll live with this name and remember this shame.'

Hearing this, Chloe was somewhat dazed.

He had heard of this restaurant, but as a pirate, he had never been there. He never imagined that he would one day eat there himself.

A peaceful life... I guess you could call it that.

Kuro wasn't lying.

Just as I was thinking this, a powerful light rose from the sea surface. It was a vertical crescent-shaped beam of light that shot straight toward us.

"What is that...?"

Kro was stunned. He had never seen such a thing before, but he had no doubt that if he were hit, he would be smashed to pieces.

"Flying Slash?! Swordsman?! Kuro, come out now!"

The white-haired girl over there cried out in alarm.

"It's too late!"

Seeing the attacks getting faster and faster, Lida gritted her teeth, jumped onto the bow of the ship, her body grew and she transformed into a girl, crossing her arms to block, her forearms covered with Armament Haki.

"Maximum Energy Wheel - Impact!"

She put her hands together and pushed forward forcefully.

BOOM!!!

The air seemed to distort as Lida pushed the slash forward with both hands. The hull in front of her couldn't withstand the pressure and cracked open. A huge shockwave swept across the deck, blowing the navy ships about.

Kro was thrown backward by the impact, his whole body aching as if he had been stabbed with a knife.

"What is this? Does such a thing exist in the East China Sea?" Kro was utterly shocked.

And that girl, why did she become like this? What is that black thing on her hand? It looks like if she hit me, one punch would be enough.

"Get over here!"

Lida roared and pushed hard with her hand, deflecting the approaching slash.

The slash changed direction and shot straight into the sky.

"Ha...ha...Are you kidding me? How can there be such a powerful slash!"

Lida's figure instantly transformed into that of a child, panting as she stared ahead.

With just one strike, she was almost completely exhausted.

"Huh? It's blocking it?"

On a large, wrecked ship near Barati, a man wearing a straw hat and a man in golden armor were fighting. A man watching nearby had just sheathed his black sword when he looked over in surprise.

A hint of surprise flickered in his eagle-like eyes. "That little girl?"

The black blade was swung out once more.

"Here we go again!"

Kro stared wide-eyed as an even larger slash than before appeared again.

This time, it's too late.

Suddenly, a golden crescent-shaped slash erupted from the deck, heading straight for the dark green figure, where they collided and intertwined.

BOOM!!!

The two strikes were evenly matched, pushing each other forward as if in a contest of strength, and finally turned into a shockwave that exploded in the sea, creating towering waves.

The waves swept across the sky, turning into a torrential downpour that pounded against the warship.

"Flying Slash? Interesting."

A smile appeared on the lips of the man in the distance. He jumped onto his small boat and headed this way.

Kuro, his face grim, stood at the bow of the ship, staring intently at the small boat that was gradually coming into view ahead.

"Kuro, you...big idiot, I'm hungry," Lida said weakly.

Kuro glanced at her. "Sorry, my mistake. I was taking a nap. Kuro, go get something to eat for Lida."

He was sleeping soundly when he suddenly ended up in this place. If it weren't for Lida, this ship would probably be lost, and...

The bloodstains on Lida's hands made him somewhat unhappy.

Soon, Kro brought over a pile of food, which Lida wolfed down. She then patted her stomach and breathed a sigh of relief: "I'm feeling better now. That was terrifying! What was that slash? When did the East Sea get swords...swords..."

Needless to say, Lida saw the small boat approaching and the man sitting on it.
